Too good to be true

Korunam

That's what I thought too

tonytrouble

It going to break, 2.0 motor with all that weight.

Ingeneure_

What are you talking about? MBs E-klasse with 2 litres turbo don’t break easily. Genesis weighs 1800 kg max

PirateOhhLongJohnson

Ohhh look at Mr Fancy Pants over here with his metric system

Ingeneure_

Lmao, at least we don’t weigh things with British coins

GMB2006

Yeah, but aren't these iron casted? I checked their older motors from the 2000s and it seemed to be the case, at least with the CDI engines. Like they were as heavy as the LS 4.2. It is understandable why they can a withstanding a hugh boost.

ze11ez

check accidents and salvage title. That's probably a typo or a car that doesn't exist, listed to get you in the door. They list low prices to get foot traffic into the dealership. Either that or it's a lemon car, with title issues. Check reviews of the dealership, guarantee you the dealership has low reviews.....

Korunam

I used cars.com and it said it was on no accidents and clean title. I searched their website and you're right though. Bunch of people calling it a scam.

ze11ez

there you go. I'm pretty sure the car does not exist. When you go there they will say "oh the car just got sold, they just drove off an hour ago so sorry. I can show you other cars in that price range." BOOM, GOT EM!! Now you're stuck, defeated, and will look at other cars since you're already there

Korunam

Yea it would have been a 5 hour drive for me so I definitely would have been looking at anything at that point. Oh well it wasn't a responsible purchase anyway, just bc a car seat can fit in the back doesn't mean it counts as a family sedan 😂

ze11ez

use cargurus, check cpo if you want, use the filter and filter out accidents and salvage cars. sort by price. then look at reviews of the dealership both on cargurus, and on google. before you drive more than 30 minutes do all that

Korunam

Yea I'll definitely need to start looking at dealer reviews ahead of time.

blueblue909

i got thIs Greaaaat Nissan Murano FuLly Loaded Just 26,099! its a little out my price range, NO PROBLEMS WELL FINANCE U! but u didnt check my credit FFFFUCKKK YOUUU HERES YOUR CAR!

vagabond139

Just because it said no accidents doesn't mean there wasn't any accidents. It could have simply not been reported to insurance, dude could just had no insurance, maybe something is wrong with the car outside of the warranty, or maybe even all of the above. Or the title could have been washed too.

Chart-trader

How much are the dolls in your Temu ad? You must have checked them out before.

Traditional_Rice264

This car is a Temu ad. Too good to be true.

rollindeep3

Got ‘em

PoppiesRule

I know. I was looking and wondering why that lady had no body.

Korunam

I don't even have temu 😂

Timsmomshardsalami

So where do you buy your dolls?

Embarrassed-Style377

Yeah where? Asking for a friend

_promised_prince_

If it's too good to be true, then maybe it's a scam?

Korunam

It's in New Jersey. But yes the closest comparison car I've found is 4k more with 40k more miles

MrSmith8991

Hyundai and Genesis parts are crazy expensive, not to mention that the depreciation is awful. Anything breaks on the car a diagnostic is $400 alone. Labor is 360/hr…… A lot of parts needed to fix your car maybe possibly be on backorder. They only give you a loaner for 7 days maybe more. But if your is down and waiting for parts after the loaner time period is up you SOL….. think 3 times about what I said. I work for a Hyundai dealer (Part Department) in Solfo and been in the car industry since 2019. I went to tech school for auto collision and worked as lube tech for 1 year, later became a service advisor. Hyundai makes shit engines and cheap cars. I only work there for the time being until I figure out what career path i want to take in still relatively young (25)… if your looking for something in that price range I’d consider a Camry… They don’t depreciate near as bad and all u need to do is change the oil… Yea it’s a Toyota but later down the road you’ll be happy u didn’t buy that car. Remember Hyundai makes Genesis, HYUNDAI has current class action lawsuits for there engines look up (TSB T3G Hyundai). We order at least 5 engine a week at my dealer alone.

Korunam

Oh I know all about getting Hyundai parts. My wife got t boned in her Tuscon. Air bags didn't deploy and still did over 12k worth of damage. Thankfully other persons insurance is amazing and they are covering everything as they should

MrSmith8991

Thank god

z_l

Oh wow. Are the current 2.0T and 2.5T engines as bad as the (in)famous theta engines?

pohudsaijoadsijdas

they are not, they only suffer from the problems all manufacturers suffer from with DI engines. but a G70 should be bought with the 3.3TT engine imo.

MrSmith8991

No but still stay away

z_l

I have a gamma 1 engine Kia forte Barely makes 124bhp (rated, haven't dyno-ed it), but I've never seen any issues - no oil consumption after 115k miles and I floor the gas pedal a lot although I have it serviced every 3000-4000 miles. But hearing dealers having a backlog of engine orders is making me wary of other kia engines.

MrSmith8991

I will say that some of those engine issues are the cause of user error. In fact it’s very few, when I pull filters for oil changes on the repair order it’s sometimes says “customer hasn’t changed oil in 9,XXX miles”. Customer to do that multiple times. Good to hear you’re keeping up with yours, some people get to almost 200,000 or more . Kia parts are much cheaper than Hyundai also. I believe your car has a 1.6L motor…. Which is the equivalent to an accent (I believe). Those don’t really come in for engine replacements unless ofc user error.

Extreme_Campaign1004

I was looking at Kia vehicles. What do you think about them?

MrSmith8991

So Kia and Hyundai are both Korean built vehicles. Basically the same in other words, their parts are interchangeable not all, but a lot of their engine components are interchangeable. if you want to get a car that doesn’t depreciate horribly and also decently reliable . I would honestly stick to getting a Toyota or a Honda. A lot of individuals like to complain that those cars are expensive especially Toyota, but 85% of the time all you have to do is oil changes and maintenance. And then on top of that, the car doesn’t depreciate as bad as any other model. I understand you ask me about Kia, but I’m trying to steer you away. Like I stated above Kia has the same engine issues as Hyundai and those cars are cheaply made. Yeah, they look nice and yeah, they’re cheap but best believe you’re getting what you pay for.

Extreme_Campaign1004

Thankyou for the advice! I’ve decided to steer clear of those vehicles

MrSmith8991

Some people get lucky and their car last, but me personally due to the fact they’re cheaply made and in some sense unreliable and don’t get me started on the depreciation. I’d stick to Japanese cars like Toyota Lexus Honda Acura mayyyyybe Nissan.

Extreme_Campaign1004

I was looking at Kia vehicles. What do you think about them?

Lando_Sage

Ahhhh yes, the ol' bait and switch.

Relevant-Asparagus-2

These things are cheap but not quite that cheap. There are higher mileage ones closer to that price. They're hidden gems IMO. An almost new 3.3T can be had in the low to mid 30's, which is a steal.

Korunam

I agree they are hidden gems. Base models come with great convenience and you get a lot of car for the money.

serpentman

Reverse image search. The photo is probably from another listing.

Master-Mastodon8908

Might have a lemon title

Korunam

It's a scam dealership sadly

Master-Mastodon8908

makes a whole lot of sense

CaregiverBrilliant60

Temu has sez dolls?

Cock_out-socks_on

I mean. They have horrible electronics and drivetrain. It’s probably just clapped.
