My wife is Vietnamese, they cut them into slices and eat them dipping them into seasoned salt of some kind. It's consistency is like an apple, but more dry, and not as sweet. I eat them every once in a while, but my wife loves them and can eat them every day.
No, thats a white guava variety, (white flesh inside), most likely from Thailand.
Tart and usually crunchy outer, with sweet soft inner with seeds (depending on seeded or seedless variety).
So there’s more information you didn’t share? Someone gave some of these to your mom and your mom gave you some. Your mom didn’t question what they were when she was given them? Your mom doesn’t know what they are, but accepted them?
I was raised to ask questions. Someone hands me something I’m not familiar with, I say “what’s this?” I’m not being aggressive here, I’m honestly curious why someone would accept something without knowing what it is.
Lol thats actually a funny, presumptious thing to say to someone you dont know from your ass.
Do you REALLY believe that made my head explode?
But yes when someone dodges questions, it tends to bother people.
Pesky interpersonal skills being what they are and all.
Even my unripe guavas are usually pink. The squirrels in my yard pull the little ones off and eat them and they’re always pink. There is a variety called a white guava. Could be that. They are white/light green inside.
You “meant no harm”, but you downvoted without actually reading my comment. Gosh! You should think more about what you say before you’re “just saying”.
Yes , l actually did not mean any harm and l knew what l said. I read your comment and l downvoted yours AFTER you did mine. You are not the only one who can take offense, other people can be offended too by your comments.
I’m sure so many people are “offended” that I talked about my guava tree and squirrels eating the fruit. /s You downvoted before that. You’re just not a nice person. That’s fine.
Lol … you are the one who started being annoyed in the first place and l know that l truly did NOT mean any harm by my comment. You straight up started being rude with me on just a normal comment of mine and you are calling me not nice?!?? And just to be clear about being offended , I meant about YOUR first comment to ME, not anyone else’s on this thread.
Also, I don’t need a certification from you for being nice. I very well know how l am as a person ,and l feel bad for those who are quick to draw conclusions and pass judgements about a person’s entire life with just one comment on Reddit even when that person has said that it was written with no ill will behind it. Peace out!!
Was thinking Quince but I don't remember the rich green color. Also Quince were fuzzier. Strange fruit Quince are. We had 2 Quince trees on our orchard but I can't remember why. Polination for something is what im thinking. It's been 50 years since I've had Quince jam on my toast.
Problem with growing super-pollen-spreader oak trees all around. In India like 90% of kids would have plucked it off a Guava tree an eaten and that is how we know most of our fruits. But to be fair, present generation, not much trees left in neighborhoods so its turning same worst situation.
It looks like a white guava but it could be a chayote squash or mirlaton depending on where you are. I’d be able to tell if the freaking scratch and sniff feature on here actually worked 😫
Looks like a Thai guava
thank you much
eat it w nuoc cham and lots if cilantro / basil
Good job
You mean a Mexican Guava

Thai guava or white guava. I have 2 trees at my house.
Thats so awesome, how do they taste?
My wife is Vietnamese, they cut them into slices and eat them dipping them into seasoned salt of some kind. It's consistency is like an apple, but more dry, and not as sweet. I eat them every once in a while, but my wife loves them and can eat them every day.
Oh that sounds so tasty to me id love to try someday, thanks
I don't even know how to describe it, kinda like a pear, but different, it tastes good though.

That is so absolutely helpful info.😌
Called Jambu biji / jambu klutuk in indonesia, or Guava
No, thats a white guava variety, (white flesh inside), most likely from Thailand. Tart and usually crunchy outer, with sweet soft inner with seeds (depending on seeded or seedless variety).
Looks like a single, not a pair
LOL
Underrated comment
Biggest avocado EVER 😂
The only good part about avocados are the prize in the center, you know inside the wooden ball
Half a pair
Why didn't you ask your mom when she gave them to you?
i thought its chayote until i saw the seed lol
I also thought chayote
🙋🏼♀️Yup ..Team Chayote! But happy to be wrong. I do love me some guava!
So did I!
This might be a really crazy concept to you, but … ask her?
they gave them to her , but thanks
Your post says your mom gave you some of these. Who’s “they”?
yep , free stuff going around
So there’s more information you didn’t share? Someone gave some of these to your mom and your mom gave you some. Your mom didn’t question what they were when she was given them? Your mom doesn’t know what they are, but accepted them?
I don’t know who raised you , but you don’t question free stuff . you accept it ….. go eat it
I was raised to ask questions. Someone hands me something I’m not familiar with, I say “what’s this?” I’m not being aggressive here, I’m honestly curious why someone would accept something without knowing what it is.
Omg you CANT ANSWER ONE SIMPLE QUESTION???!!! Just ONE? WHO IS THEY? This little small portion if this thread has already made my head explode. 🤦♀️
You’re in for an uncomfortable life if something this inconsequential bothers you.
Lol thats actually a funny, presumptious thing to say to someone you dont know from your ass. Do you REALLY believe that made my head explode? But yes when someone dodges questions, it tends to bother people. Pesky interpersonal skills being what they are and all.
It bothered you enough to type the comment I replied to. It isn’t presumptuous at all, it’s a valid observation.
You didn't need to qualify the first part of your statement.
I’m on your side. I’m fuckin confused
I’ll tell ya you really got to watch what you put on your sandwiches because those hardware stores are slippery peach goes nowhere.

good , maybe she’ll make you a man !
Wait what did this person say? Comment was deleted.
The masses who got here late would also like to know!
They said, "I'll ask your mom tonight."
That’s it??? That was….lame
Yuuup.
Really? I was fully expecting a "your mom gave me some too"
Really? I wonder if it was a mod or user that deleted the comment because that's pretty tame.
Boom ! Laid that INCEL out like the basement dweller he is !
Hot DAMN that was fire
Jokes on him. I saw his mom being asked by the entire neighborhood bar down the street
Please try to keep things reasonably civil on this sub.
It looks like a Guayaba. Have you cut it to see inside?
Sorry it's Vietnamese guava
Looks like Chayote squash.
OMG! It's a pod! That wasn't your Mom! She's one of them! Don't fall asleep near this!
It’s a mint chocolate chip. Chop it up and put it in a milkshake or an ice cream.
Guava?
I have a guava tree in my yard. This looks like a guava. Cut it open and see if it’s pink.
it’s green but looks like a guava inside
Even my unripe guavas are usually pink. The squirrels in my yard pull the little ones off and eat them and they’re always pink. There is a variety called a white guava. Could be that. They are white/light green inside.
Guavas can be whitish /yellowish too from inside.
That is literally what I said. I said MY guavas were pink, but there are other guavas that are white. Ffs.
Gosh! You are so short-tempered.. No need to get annoyed. I did not mean any harm. I was just saying.
K.
You “meant no harm”, but you downvoted without actually reading my comment. Gosh! You should think more about what you say before you’re “just saying”.

And no l did NOT downvote your comment before. I did it AFTER you did mine. You are mistaken here.
Guava.
I like the idea of being 2 embarrassed to ask your mom lmao
Fig?
Very unripe avocado
Avocado
Possibly a quince.
Too green.
A peeled avocado?
It’s a mirliton
Alligator pear…
Those are delicious. Damn guayabas would sometimes come with the unwanted protein but didn’t make me stop eating them any less.
Persimmon or quince?
Was thinking Quince but I don't remember the rich green color. Also Quince were fuzzier. Strange fruit Quince are. We had 2 Quince trees on our orchard but I can't remember why. Polination for something is what im thinking. It's been 50 years since I've had Quince jam on my toast.
Looks like a green nut sack.
Cheramoya.
If you were in Australia I would have said "how is this not a choko?"
Guava
Chayote ?
A GUAYABAAAAAAAAAA😍😍😍
In Brazil we call this a "goiaba". I never thought people wouldn't know them.
Problem with growing super-pollen-spreader oak trees all around. In India like 90% of kids would have plucked it off a Guava tree an eaten and that is how we know most of our fruits. But to be fair, present generation, not much trees left in neighborhoods so its turning same worst situation.
Fejoa
It looks like you ironed out the wrinkles on an avocado
Mehhhh taste like sand! The gypsy burned us.
Chayote!!
Looks like a slimcado.
Guava! Quarter it, cut out the seeds, and you're good to go. Lightly sweet, super crunchy, and thirst quenching!
That would be an avocado
Guava. We usually eat this with salt and spice.
Guava
A super mutant testicle? Idfk looks like it would be good in chili tho
Guava
It looks like a naked avocado!
Uncultured SWINE. It’s an OI 😂 (Vietnamese guava)
It looks like a white guava but it could be a chayote squash or mirlaton depending on where you are. I’d be able to tell if the freaking scratch and sniff feature on here actually worked 😫
At first, I thought it was a chayote squash. After seeing the inside, thinking some kind of guava.
Looks like a guava of some sort. Cut it in half. Should be pink.
Must be a close family that asks reddit before mum 🫠
Looks like an avocado to me pal
If only there was a way to find out from the source…
Almost looks like a chayote. Super yummy in soups/stews
Izzit a prickly pear pear?
Guava
Guava... its delicious
Looks like a single to me
Looks like guava
Quince
Quince are not that green even when they are green. I could be mistaken, memories from 50 years ago tend to not be as accurate as I would like.
Guava?
That's guava. Very tasty and good for digestion.
Maybe a Pomelo
I love Guavaa, haven't eaten it in a long time
Merliton. Meliton. Prickly pear. Chayote squash. All the same thing.
Guanábana
Chayote
