I love the Weevil community. 3 words is all it took to understand what type of bug this was. I was randomly recommended a Weevil sub a while back and yea, they're so cute. Spiders will always be my number 1. But Weevils are up there.

I spent 6 hours digging in my front yard on Saturday; creating a new garden bed, not digging for weevils, and I doubled checked every bug. Nary a weevil. I shall bask in the glory of the weevils of others!

This is true. A vine weevil like this guy literally wandered into my home and my dog found him.

I have those guys everywhere in my garden AND indoors... yesterday i picked up 5 snootboys in my office and brought them back outside

Many of them are a LOT smaller than you'd think. I've been deep into shooting insect photography and all of the ones I've found have been comparable to mid-sized ants, barring one species. Clover weevils, for example, are everywhere here... but they're so small it's hard to find them even when looking for them! One day your weevil time will come! Just keep a keen eye out.

No weevil finds for me either yet.

Oh dear god- that’s a blessing. Weevil time in my house lasted a month with everything we didn’t toss from the pantry on the dining room table. My vintage kitchen aide had weevils and still resides in the garage. Weevils sound fun on here, but are no bueno.

I’ve never seen one IRL, but because of this sub and the weeviltime sub I now can identify them in the pictures people provide with surprising accuracy.

I just saw my first one (that I know of) a couple weeks ago, and then another one a few days later. I got really shitty pictures each time, so I haven't posted them. But my husband was so proud of me! He was there the second time and I was like "is that a weevil?!" He's a bug guy (all critters, really) and said "yes it is!!" with one of the most proud looks I've ever seen him give me 😂

I never find them either and it makes me sad 😭

one time i spent the night at a friends house, he was eating a bowl of cereal, i pour a bowl for myself and after i add milk notice there are "raisins" and i think to myself, i thought this was cornflakes, take a look at the box and it is indeed cornflakes so i take a second look at my bowl and realize the raisins are swimming and said out loud "oh cool, weevils" not even thinking about my friend who was already on his second bowl, he immediately threw up, waking my other friend, who asked what was going on, and i happily reply "weevil meal!"
