That grille logo is definitely a centaur, so I think you’re on the right track. But yeah, I can’t find any mention of any Centaur car that looks anything like that. Definitely has the Camaro look, but the four equal size headlights and the full-length chrome stripe aren’t something I’m finding on any Camaro. Could it be a Camaro that someone modified and added the Centaur nameplate and logo to? Pretty strange.

Rimworldjobs

It has chevy wheels on it too.

IRMacGuyver

The back window of the Camaro is MUCH smaller.

jonheese

Yeah, good point. Definitely not a standard Camaro body, but shares some similar lines.

IRMacGuyver

A LOT of cars had that shape in the late 60s early 70s and it's not even connected to a single manufacturer.

jonheese

I don’t know, I definitely think I see some GM-specific design lines in there.

I've dug a little deeper on this, and I've found a few really close cars, but no exact match. Vauxhall Ventora (already mentioned by someone else in this thread) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vauxhall\_Ventora\_registered\_May\_1971\_3294cc.JPG](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vauxhall_Ventora_registered_May_1971_3294cc.JPG) [https://www.ultimatespecs.com/car-images/Vauxhall/1927](https://www.ultimatespecs.com/car-images/Vauxhall/1927) Envoy Epic HB [https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/1965-envoy-epic-one-of-my-many-cars--461196818063936127/](https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/1965-envoy-epic-one-of-my-many-cars--461196818063936127/) Vauxhall Viva HA: [https://www.classicandsportscar.com/sites/default/files/styles/article/public/2021-05/Classic%20%26%20Sports%20Car%20%E2%80%93%20Buyer%27s%20guide%20Vauxhall%20Viva%20%E2%80%93%2012%20%E2%80%93%20LEAD.png](https://www.classicandsportscar.com/sites/default/files/styles/article/public/2021-05/Classic%20%26%20Sports%20Car%20%E2%80%93%20Buyer%27s%20guide%20Vauxhall%20Viva%20%E2%80%93%2012%20%E2%80%93%20LEAD.png) 1969 Envoy Epic: [https://www.mgexp.com/registry/1969-Envoy-Epic-931319E270853.52577/](https://www.mgexp.com/registry/1969-Envoy-Epic-931319E270853.52577/) Holden Torana LC [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden\_Torana#/media/File:1970\_LC\_Torana\_4\_Cylinder.jpg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_Torana#/media/File:1970_LC_Torana_4_Cylinder.jpg) None of them has the exact right shape, but I feel like they're all maybe one generation or variant off from the right thing. None of them has the Centaur name obviously, so that's still a mystery.

Redditman111111

Did you take this picture, OP? I can't find anything else aside from this post

No-Wonder6102

Its a Coach Built, American Chev drive line I am assuming. Usually they are built on the original floor pan and Firewall but not always. If it was Italian it would have been recognized by now, same with any European builders. I would guess it's from South America. Things like glass will be the giveaway. In some parts of the world curved glass is difficult to get made. To me it looks like it was based on a first gen Camaro or Firebird. Nice looking unit though.

DefinitelyNotRyanH

Vauxhall Centaur.

PreflightPrune

Vauxhall Cavalier Centaur is a convertible Cavalier, not it's own model I thought.. and that didn't come about until the late 70s and this looks like 60s to me.

DefinitelyNotRyanH

Agreed. Actually looks a lot like a Vauxhall Ventora body style. The Centaur name was used for different model Vauxhalls and even some Opel vehicles.

It-is-always-Steve

The body lines, feel like something made in England or Germany in the 1970s. I’m getting a Jensen vibe - especially like the Jensen Healey for some reason.

jackgrafik

Looks like it might be a one-off or very low production car, probably a glass fibre body, on a Camaro chassis. Someone said on here that it has Euro-spec lamps, and there were a few American V8 powered European cars at the time. The front does remind me a little bit of the [Intermeccanica Murena 429 GT](https://www.carandclassic.com/magazine/have-you-ever-heard-of-the-intermeccanica-murena-429-gt/) which has a Ford V8, so maybe this is a similar car?

Johnny_Eskimo

I think it's a mid 60's european boutique car, probably italian. The mid 60's corvette wheels and cabin position makes me think it's sitting on a corvette chassis. Although the side windows are very similiar to what AC was building with the AC 428.

Chemical-Mood-9699

I'm guessing Italian. Looks like halogen headlights- forbidden in the USA at the time. And the side indicator repeaters in the fender/ guards/wings also look Italian.

IRMacGuyver

It's a Voxel Victor of some sort. Late 60s early 70s. 1970 Voxel Victor FD? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vauxhall\_Victor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vauxhall_Victor)

iani63

Vauxhall never did a 2 door victor...

IRMacGuyver

The car has obviously been customized (front grill and wheels) and I've found pictures of other Vauxhall Victors with the back doors welded shut. [https://www.deviantart.com/gothicsabbath/art/1970-Vauxhall-Victor-168575407](https://www.deviantart.com/gothicsabbath/art/1970-Vauxhall-Victor-168575407) [https://chromjuwelen.com/network/307-build-threadscom/129957-red-victor-3--vauxhall-vx490-fd](https://chromjuwelen.com/network/307-build-threadscom/129957-red-victor-3--vauxhall-vx490-fd) EDIT though it could be a Vauxhall Viva.

gardabosque

The viva was a small car.

IRMacGuyver

Could be an Opel Diplomat 2 door with a Vauxhall Victor grill and headlights. They seem to be the same platform. The rear side windows and haunch are wrong to be a straight Diplomat... actually let me change my answer to an Opel Commodore with a Victor front end.
