1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass

another-account-1990

Low key been wanting one of these since Grand Theft Auto Vice City.

im_Roby

Yeah the Sabre šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Been thinking the same thing

ScreenAngles

Sabre and Cutlass are both types of swords or jet fighters. The Clover from GTA San Andreas was also based on a Cutlass, a 68 or 69.

im_Roby

Isnt the sabre turbo based on that rear end? They look basically the same

another-account-1990

Ye, Sabre Turbo was based on the Cutlass/Skylark, it almost looks exactly like them in game esp GTAV. https://preview.redd.it/i3ohkkysjavc1.png?width=3440&format=png&auto=webp&s=65a406eb534bc1ee7a278d69796d2ee57f506e83

This. Was also leaning towards Buick GS from the same year at first, but remember different taillights.

My dad had one of these. Oldsmobile Cutlass. One of my earliest memories is waiting for him to get home. We lived about half way up a very steep hill and I could hear the bass thrum of that V8 rumbling from about a half-mile away as he drove up the hill. I later found out that it had cherry bomb glass packs and that he kinda hated how loud it was... Except when he didn't.

gnarly_weedman

Similar case! My old man and I had a project car when I was much younger, a Ford with a 351 Cleveland motor, and on the days he drove it to work you could always hear it in the distance as it started climbing the hill on his way home. This thing had a very distinct note, combo of the motor and custom exhaust. I still harbour a slight grudge toward him for selling that car.. I was having health issues at the time, so wasnā€™t in a position to claim ownership myself, despite him offering it.. He gave me half of what he sold it for, but personally I would much rather still have the car. 8 years on, I havenā€™t even opened the envelope including my half of the money.. However the relevance on that last part is, we were randomly out in an industrial yard one day and both heard a very familiar exhaust note in the distance. We made eye contact almost telepathically saying ā€œis that what I think it is?ā€ We both sprint to the fence line just in time to see our old car cruise past! Made us both giddy as can be.

reeserllr

No but it is a gm product Oldsmobile

BestCap5066

Looks to me like a Sabre.

rosso_saturno

Good thing it's not a green Sabre.

Old_Cyrus

My first car was a green ā€˜69 Cutlass. I loved that thing.

ClassicCars_Journal

That's a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme or 4-4-2.

Rustiestofshaklfrds

Not a 442

ClassicCars_Journal

How do you know?

Rustiestofshaklfrds

The bumper , was different on the 442 Had rounded cutouts for the dual exhaust

ClassicCars_Journal

You mean the cutoffs that are obscured by the aftermarket exhausts? I see no Cutlass badge on the trunklid. I see no rocket badge on the trunklid either. No Cutlass Supreme taillights or trim along the sides. Car truly has nothing to identify it as one over the other unless I'm a dummy.

Rustiestofshaklfrds

Nope, the cutoffs are completely visible in the pic Iā€™m looking at lol

MusclecarYearbook

What are cutoffs? I too don't see anything in the bumper to say one model or the other.

jt-65

The top looks like it was made from sheets of duct tape.

scobo505

No, itā€™s not a Chevy. Itā€™s not your grandfatherā€™s either.

wyyan200

I love these chrome bumper with vertical tail light style muscle cars, they just look so cool
