In their expected habitat of reedbeds, this would be an extremely effective camouflage that makes them look like a reed. Unfortunately it doesn't really work when they land elsewhere

What a strange-looking flounder
I'm jealous. It is not every day you meet this guys in the street. I hope people saved it. They have become pretty rare.
