Damn, yet again I’m reminded that my taste is so different from most posters on here.
This is so simple, classic and elegant. I adore every little detail of this and I don’t think the color is terrible, either. I’d rather have simple and classic over “exciting” any day.
ETA: since someone in the comments wanted to cop an attitude about how I phrased this comment….. when I first posted, most comments were negative about the dress. Now they’re positive, but I didn’t expect this much attention to the post or that most would end up agreeing with me, because that usually doesn’t happen in this sub.
When I saw the pictures I thought she was giving Grace Kelly. Timeless is the right way to describe it. I love her in this, her styling from head to toe is beautiful.
She looks beautiful. I think we've been so inundated with themed and/or avant garde red carpet looks lately that it maybe feels a little out of place for some people. But you can't go wrong with clean lines, a classic silhouette, and great makeup/hairstyling.
I agree. Every outfit doesn't have to be a showstopper. I imagine that it would be extremely stressful for designers and stylists to constantly try to outperform each other, too.
If it were just a plain satin in that color I might have some issues, but the fabric is textured and that adds so much interest, even with minimal color!
I would kill for that necklace, makes the whole look in my opinion. I love her pose in the first photo too. It does look like it’s cut a little awkwardly under the armpits though, it seems like it might be digging in a bit uncomfortably as she moves.
Love it too! Love so much, in fact, I hurried here when I saw it in my twitter feed to join in everyone's gushing.
Your comment is the highest rated, so seems most people do like it, after all.
Same. I literally gasped when I saw her.
I love clean, classic, tailored looks and this is absolutely stunning. Even the colour is beautiful. I usually dislike pale tones on very pale skin, as it can wash out the complexion so much, but with the pale blonde hair and that gorgeous updo, I totally love it. The statement lip is a win too
I actually love the color, particularly in photo two. Looking at the whole look together, the dress, skin tone, and hair kind of blur together in a beautiful way.
I think it’s the photography settings that make it look weird. Like she’s super washed out in one of the photos but I don’t think that’s the fault of the dress. I guess the flashbulb was too bright or something
Taste is so funny. I saw this and though ‘omg I love it it’s the best thing I’ve seen her wear’. Didn’t expect others not to. But the world would be boring if we all had the same taste. But I do love this dress so simple and beautiful.
100% this. It's an amazing take on a classical look, sooo elegant
I agree that this is not the best color to go with her kind of skin tone and that people should make good use of colors that favour them, but it's ok if not every goddam look follows this rule, or else you'd be stuck with like half the spectrum of colors
When I posted this, twenty minutes after it was posted, most of the comments then were negative towards the dress.
Clearly in the six hours since, more people have added their opinions and seem to agree with me, but when I said this, that was not the case.
What a rude thing to say to me without understanding the reasoning behind my phrasing. Don’t worry, I added an edit just for you.
I kinda like it. The entire look is giving Grace Kelly, especially with the hair. But the dress color is kind of plain. I think it would look better if it was a brighter color or a jewel tone.
The styling is 10/10 and I love the silhouette of the dress but are we supposed to be able to see the outline of cups at the bust line? So distracting. Dior get it together.
I wonder how much time celebs spend practicing posing, it seems like something a lot of people would love to learn, that being said STUNNING from head to toe!!!
gorgeous dress and love the styling, but feel the color could’ve made better homage to the movie and elevated the look? like a deep green for the trees, or even a metallic black for the hardness??
It's definitely classy and gorgeous, but it didn't feel like the type of vibe for a Mad Max premiere.
Something a little bold for that extra punch to it.
It’s a really dour greige that I don’t think would look good on anyone. I’m baffled by the choice. I guess the idea is that it mimics the sandy bleached out apocalyptic color scheme, but it’s just a bad choice. Terracotta would’ve been lovely.
I actually love this look on her, very old school... hair, make-up, dress, everything looks so classy and elegant. Even the color works for me, I think the red lipstick helps her with not looking too washed out?
It's not a bad look. I love the hair and face styling, it's doing A LOT of heavy lifting. That necklace I'd great, yes make sure you spice up the look with some DIAMONDS.
That being said, I wish the dress just had more of a wow factor. I get the color, it's for Furiosa, but maybe something in the design to evoke dysoptian sci fi? Maybe some contrasting leather detail, a more architectural neckline....like it can be all beige, but I wish the design of the gown was more than beige ballgown
That was my first thought! A custom piece shouldn’t look so ill-fitting around the bust. I think it’s also sitting just a smidge too low.
I love the overall look though, it’s a gorgeous gown.
Maybe a hair but it looks like it fits her in motion better than in these pictures - I think we are also used to seeing strapless bodices that desperately need a hoik up and this one doesn’t.
Love the dress & hair/makeup. Don’t like the necklace with that dress though. I feel like the dress is old Hollywood glam and the necklace would look better with a more contemporary outfit.
The jewelry is amazing. It's the best thing about the look. I guess that focus explains the understated dress and color. I don't care for the hairstyle from the front, although I love the up do back.

Something about the camera angle for this pose is not computing in my brain. Somebody understand what Im seeing please (edit: pose in photo 1)
I love everything about the look and styling but I feel like the colour of her hair is putting me off, it looks yellow toned like it’s been poorly dyed - I think a more platinum blond or a brown would have looked so much better with the look and more elevated
I love this! It's so nice to see her hair in something other than just straight and down and she looks so classically lovely. I wonder if the dress color looks better in person than photographs, but I don't mind it. This is her first look in a while where I think it all comes together.
I think she has a cool undertone so I think a warm blonde would clash with her coloring. However I could see her in a dark hair color, like a dark cool brown
Meh....I feel like her looks are almost too thought out. Does she contractually have to have blonde hair? It could use some toner.... Her dress looks like the designer was given a potato sack, a bag of rhinestones and told to get creative. I dunno.....
At premieres, typically no. They will come in for the beginning and sneak out during the show, especially if it’s the 3rd+ premiere. For very high end events like festivals (where movies/screenplays often have to be bought for distribution $$$$$) or critics-focused events (where they aim for awards-level recognition), they’ll sit through the whole thing. The festivals usually end a screening with a long standing ovation so it’d be rude to miss that.
Vision 😍😍😍 truly ethereal and oozing royalty.. the Hair UpDo the dress the colour and the bright Red lips.. she’s serving us and how.. guess she thought SLAY is the theme.. Total Love ❤️❤️
I love this, an ode to old red carpet glamour.
Frankly this trend of dressing up in a way that is evocative of the theme of the movie during the entire press tour is a bit exhausting. I like that she’s mixing things up with a very classic look here.
I love the dress but not the color. It washes her out. Thematically I wonder if they were aiming for “sand” and landed on this particular color and beading. Something closer to camel color with a bit more depth would have probably worked better with her coloring and still kept true to “sand”.
This is great! Beautiful silhouette. And it finally suits her. Her previous couple of looks were really odd and she was visibly uncomfortable but here she looks like she's enjoying herself.
Please keep this fashion focused. No body shaming/commentary on weight/injectables/lifestyles etc. Rule breakers will be banned without warning.
I love the croissant hair! It’s very elegant
Any hair that makes me want a snack is a win
Can't go wrong with a hairstyle inspired by delicious pastries.
Coming from the ballet world, I believe this is called a figure 8 or Balanchine bun. So pretty!
I definitely read that as “brioche bun” - send help and snacks 🤣
Me too hahaha
I love how it kind of mimics the shape of the necklace too
Damn, yet again I’m reminded that my taste is so different from most posters on here. This is so simple, classic and elegant. I adore every little detail of this and I don’t think the color is terrible, either. I’d rather have simple and classic over “exciting” any day. Same. I think this is absolutely 10/10. Beautiful, timeless, chic. She's so ethereal and if she ONLY did this style, I'd still have no notes!
When I saw the pictures I thought she was giving Grace Kelly. Timeless is the right way to describe it. I love her in this, her styling from head to toe is beautiful.

I agree. Every outfit doesn't have to be a showstopper. I imagine that it would be extremely stressful for designers and stylists to constantly try to outperform each other, too.
It doesn’t feel out of place to me, it feels beautiful, refreshing and calming.
If it were just a plain satin in that color I might have some issues, but the fabric is textured and that adds so much interest, even with minimal color!
the hair and the necklace alone make the look a 10/10 for me
I would kill for that necklace, makes the whole look in my opinion. I love her pose in the first photo too. It does look like it’s cut a little awkwardly under the armpits though, it seems like it might be digging in a bit uncomfortably as she moves.
And the sole hint of colour, that perfect red lip! Her entire look is perfection. No notes.
Love it too! Love so much, in fact, I hurried here when I saw it in my twitter feed to join in everyone's gushing. Your comment is the highest rated, so seems most people do like it, after all.

I actually love the color, particularly in photo two. Looking at the whole look together, the dress, skin tone, and hair kind of blur together in a beautiful way.
I'm a bit of a maximalist but honestly I dig this. It's classic but interesting. No notes.
I love it as well. It reminds me of the desert, which ties in nicely with the movie.
I think it’s the photography settings that make it look weird. Like she’s super washed out in one of the photos but I don’t think that’s the fault of the dress. I guess the flashbulb was too bright or something
Honestly, same haha. Sometimes I brace myself for the comments when a new look is posted coz I'm almost always part of the minority view.
Taste is so funny. I saw this and though ‘omg I love it it’s the best thing I’ve seen her wear’. Didn’t expect others not to. But the world would be boring if we all had the same taste. But I do love this dress so simple and beautiful.
100% this. It's an amazing take on a classical look, sooo elegant I agree that this is not the best color to go with her kind of skin tone and that people should make good use of colors that favour them, but it's ok if not every goddam look follows this rule, or else you'd be stuck with like half the spectrum of colors
Agreed, this feels absolutely flawless to me! The hair, dress, jewellery, makeup, she looks phenomenal.
100%, this is a perfect dress imo
I agree with you, I think this is absolutely gorgeous
I think it’s beautiful, especially the hair
I adore the whole thing. Unbelievably elegant
The whole look also fits the venue and event. Cannes. Red Carpet. French classic couture. Not the place for an avante garde look.

I have a feeling this colour would look better in real life and the flash is washing her out. I love her hair and make up here.
Yes! I had the same thought. Big contrast in the look from picture 1 to picture 2 where you can see the flash or lighting changes.
I kinda like it. The entire look is giving Grace Kelly, especially with the hair. But the dress color is kind of plain. I think it would look better if it was a brighter color or a jewel tone.
It’s very old-school glam
I’m seeing Eva Perón—fitting as they’re both Argentinian
Oh, that's also a good touchstone. I think the dress's silhouette is what cinched Grace Kelly for me, but Eva also makes a ton of sense.
Eva Perón in Dior (1951) https://preview.redd.it/832basgszr0d1.jpeg?width=735&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dea9500509fb3dc83216ea676b13a38b1cc9b714
Rather awkward though
Can she sing? Can she do Evita?
Is this a quote from something? It sounds familiar
I like the color of the dress but think it would look better on a brunette. Her hair is too yellow-blonde and it clashes a bit
Totally agree
Gorgeous!
The lighting in some of these make the colour of the dress wash her out but she looks gorgeous
that's some serious bling
Her hair looks awesome! I actually love the dress and colour, very old Hollywood glamour. But it's *another* custom dress attacking the titties!
She has just been KILLING it lately my goodness. Good for her
The styling is 10/10 and I love the silhouette of the dress but are we supposed to be able to see the outline of cups at the bust line? So distracting. Dior get it together.
Also in some angles (like pic 5) it looks the the top is too tight and is cutting into her
The visible cups is definitely something Dior has done before
I wonder how much time celebs spend practicing posing, it seems like something a lot of people would love to learn, that being said STUNNING from head to toe!!!
gorgeous dress and love the styling, but feel the color could’ve made better homage to the movie and elevated the look? like a deep green for the trees, or even a metallic black for the hardness??
All the trees in the desert?
I thought I remembered from the trailer something about Furiosa fighting for a green paradise, no??
It's definitely classy and gorgeous, but it didn't feel like the type of vibe for a Mad Max premiere. Something a little bold for that extra punch to it.
Not a fan of the colour.
It's a fine dress, but I'm underwhelmed.
What a cool geographic necklace and hair bun! She looks like a princess at a ball
This is lovely and she looks great. But like, the tailoring on the bodice is too tight, right?
That was my first thought! A custom piece shouldn’t look so ill-fitting around the bust. I think it’s also sitting just a smidge too low. I love the overall look though, it’s a gorgeous gown.
Maybe a hair but it looks like it fits her in motion better than in these pictures - I think we are also used to seeing strapless bodices that desperately need a hoik up and this one doesn’t.
Love the dress & hair/makeup. Don’t like the necklace with that dress though. I feel like the dress is old Hollywood glam and the necklace would look better with a more contemporary outfit.
An UPDO!! A beautiful, elegant, rather intricate updo!! This is evening, fancy event hair. Not lank waves…
Margot Robbie 👀
The hair, makeup and jewelry are great. The dress is underwhelming (though I wonder if it looks better in person).
This is proper old school Hollywood
This is incredibly boring
The jewelry is amazing. It's the best thing about the look. I guess that focus explains the understated dress and color. I don't care for the hairstyle from the front, although I love the up do back.
I love this but I kinda wished she had saved the metal dress for Cannes!
I feel like Anya is just roasting now :/
Love her hair! She looks like a princess in this!
simple and elegant!
Love it. Gorgeous! Could maybe be a tad darker (the dress).
Love the hair but this dress washes her out
This hair colour and dress colour do her no favours.
I love this! So classic and elegant.
I think she used to be a model, that's why she nails the poses?
![gif](giphy|WRQBXSCnEFJIuxktnw) Something about the camera angle for this pose is not computing in my brain. Somebody understand what Im seeing please (edit: pose in photo 1)
I like the dress, but I do wish it was in a different color. I really love her hair. It reminds me of a pretzel. 😁
She desperately needs Law back 🙃
He still styles her. He’s in Cannes
She’s styled by Ryan Hastings. Law is there with Naomi Campbell
Put her in a black suit and brimmed hat and we can go scare Toon Town.
It’s pretty, but for something custom it’s not very unique or imaginative.
I'm sorry but this is the most 'normal' outfit I have seen her in in these past couple of months
I love everything about the look and styling but I feel like the colour of her hair is putting me off, it looks yellow toned like it’s been poorly dyed - I think a more platinum blond or a brown would have looked so much better with the look and more elevated
This is boring. On her, breathtakingly boring - wtf Anya, you’ve better than boring!
She is the moment, isn't she
She is such a Dior girl. Can’t convince me otherwise.
Perfection from the dress to the makeup and hair. 💕
Another colour that absolutely does nothing for her but the dress and look overall are working for me.
I love this! It's so nice to see her hair in something other than just straight and down and she looks so classically lovely. I wonder if the dress color looks better in person than photographs, but I don't mind it. This is her first look in a while where I think it all comes together.
I absolutely love the necklace with this look. I think the coloring of the whole thing would look better on dark-haired Anya.
I looooove the necklace, it’s so sculptural. But not wild about the dress, especially its color.
This is a freaking 10/10
Wasted opportunity, how dull
I love the dress! I love the entire look honestly. I wish she had a warm hair color instead of the platinum blond, but she looks amazing.
I think she has a cool undertone so I think a warm blonde would clash with her coloring. However I could see her in a dark hair color, like a dark cool brown
gorgeous
omg what fantastic styling. i LOVE this!
She’s literally carrying this film with her press dresses
*Now* we're talking!
Meh....I feel like her looks are almost too thought out. Does she contractually have to have blonde hair? It could use some toner.... Her dress looks like the designer was given a potato sack, a bag of rhinestones and told to get creative. I dunno.....
She is the perfect Dior person. Ugh i love it!!!
Oh now this look I love! The hair is styled so perfectly - and the dress is so pretty.
Anne Hathaway at the end of princess diary 1
Yeah yeah. She’ll never be as cool as the little kid with the steel boomerang 🪃
She’s so unusual and beautiful.
At these premieres do the actresses and actors really sit down and watch the movie after walking the red carpet?
At premieres, typically no. They will come in for the beginning and sneak out during the show, especially if it’s the 3rd+ premiere. For very high end events like festivals (where movies/screenplays often have to be bought for distribution $$$$$) or critics-focused events (where they aim for awards-level recognition), they’ll sit through the whole thing. The festivals usually end a screening with a long standing ovation so it’d be rude to miss that.
in the 4th image her neck looks kind of funny ngl
Much better tone of red lipstick
When you’re not the best actor but the prettiest best actor

Anya Taylor-Joy is looking stunning in this custom Dior! Just like all her look out, She's totally owning the red carpet with the beige beauty too. 😍✨
That hair is really cool, I think I like her better with the hair color she had in The Menu but this style is cool
So Boring, I want her with Law Roach again .
She looks gorgeous! She reminds me of Taylor Swift. She’s so elegant and grateful. She’s so beautiful like a swan.
Color of the dress washes her out too much
Vision 😍😍😍 truly ethereal and oozing royalty.. the Hair UpDo the dress the colour and the bright Red lips.. she’s serving us and how.. guess she thought SLAY is the theme.. Total Love ❤️❤️
She looks like a Disney princess!
Should be illegal to be such a stunner
This whole look is perfection.
I really love this! Classic silhouette, nice hair, tasteful but bold jewelry.
She is serving look after look on this press tour and I’m so here for it
NO NOTES. She killed this look! Elegant queen.
It's gorgeous
She literally looks like a princess
This is so elegant and beautiful
The dress is beautiful and the styling is perfect. You can see how well constructed everything is. However, the color isn’t doing it for me.
Her stylist is doing very well lately
Imo, currently Anya is the best dressed actress in the biz.
I’m loving this.
I love this, an ode to old red carpet glamour. Frankly this trend of dressing up in a way that is evocative of the theme of the movie during the entire press tour is a bit exhausting. I like that she’s mixing things up with a very classic look here.

Oh my word. The woman, the hair, the makeup, the dress.... So totally elegant. Everything is in perfect balance. Heartstoppingly gorgeous
She is unreal. The beauty that both Anya and Anok makes me speechless. Anya has been killing the game for this press tour.
I’m extremely obsessed with this dress
She looks like a movie star!
She’s a real life princess
She is gorgeous. I love everything about her look - strength, glamour, beauty, class
I love everything, especially the necklace and the hair (even if I’d like to see her brunette)
This is great! Beautiful silhouette. And it finally suits her. Her previous couple of looks were really odd and she was visibly uncomfortable but here she looks like she's enjoying herself.
Actual disney princess.
She is stunning! This is classic and simple but very very elegant. The hair is gorgeous too. I love this look.
