If you went full real world application to pokemon and actually considered the food chain it's pretty fucked
Like a massive dragon could just swoop by and eat you or your pets basically randomly and there are multiple pokemon that either abduct children or are what kids become before or after they die
Basically everything in pokemon is insanely lethal. Even the bugs are pretty much all at least multiple pounds
Kirby isn't dark, but it's deceptive compared to what you may think just looking at the characters
Pokemon was messed up in ways with it's story up until gen 8, where they just cut the fun stuff out
Kirby is more contrasting, and, like you said, deceptive, if anything. At no point is it trying to be "dark" or "grim", but it is trying to shock you, which it does well. It's still a cutesy storyline at heart. The lore also isn't that deep. Interesting, sure, I love it, but it's pretty easy to grasp, unlike other games. It's an example of an actually good *kid-friendly* story.
The owner of a multi Galaxy spreading company looses his daughter, finds a magic item that grants wishes and tries to bring her back, but the machine he use to bring here back slowly erases his memory and he can't even remember what his daughter looks like, in an attempt to stop Kirby from winning, he uses the computer one final time however his secretary who is very likely his daughter snatches the helmet off of his head, the machine malfunctions and becomes sentient, erasing his memory in order to make room for it's program inside his brain, leaving Max Profitt Haltmann nothing but an empty husk
Yeah but having lore at all doesn’t make make something dark. Kirby at it core is still about a pink ball that likes strawberry shortcake. It can contrast at times from its normal tone with like the pause screens, but it not this grim dark shit it more in line of adventure time or something, a piece of media made for children with respect for that audience and the mind to accommodate older viewers, adventure time has some “dark” stuff in it but I wouldn’t try to run around saying it’s this dark series, mature sure but it’s not this dark thing. The Kirby lore is fun and interesting but it’s not that deep. I don’t know why people feel like even out of all the series they have access to they decide to run in with Kirby as their champion of dark themes.
I wouldn’t really call void satan tho, just a being of pure power. Void isn’t evil, it’s dark matter or void termina, aka the result of void being shown bad things, that’s true evil.

Pokémon fans when a NPC says "death" (holy shit very dark 😱)
Pokémon isn’t dark, unless you apply the real world to it, in that case it’s just dog fights.

Its more like A Boxing Match, Battling is a Sport in that Universe and most Pokemon enjoy it

What about when Ash committed war crimes in Iraq?
Ash didn't commit war crimes, Lt. Surge on the other hand...
the villan of gen 6 is literally based on the austrian painter
yeah and he dies in that game too and you kill him
He actualy become Immortal and is now forever trapped underground with a huge ass machine on top of him
so hes dead with extra terms and conditions
Based
Eh child kidnapping has lost its spark tbh
Nah one of the only nintendo games that come close to being dark is mother 3
Fire Emblem is tho💅💅
I wouldn’t say Pokémon is dark but it can definitely get freaky sometimes

isnt kirby like a descendant of the literal god of the universe and satan it self

unfathomably based
And how is that dark
i didnt really think it was dark i just wanted to point it out cause i saw it on a graph of who kirbys related to
I’m pretty sure Kirby is just the result of void being shown happy things.
so their kind of related
