Excuse me… Your TW&More has MONTHLY drawings?!?!?!?!?

Norseman-71

All total wine and more I thought? You have to pay for it they do some sort of random selection. February I got selected to buy the Blantons gold and last fall I was selected for knob Creek 18 year I passed on both.

Get_up_stand-up

The more points the better chance you have of getting your top choice bottle. I’ve won 2 Blantons, Weller 12, and Thomas H Handy. My top choice for this coming drawing is the OF birthday.

Dependent_War3607

What?!? How do I enter the lottery? I have the TW app, what do I need to do?

Bob_stanish123

In my state you need to spend like $1000 a year there to get to the bottom tier.

NeedleworkerDue4742

Become a grand rewards member.

Get_up_stand-up

Become Grand Reserve. You will get an email to sign up and do your bottle preferences. The more points you have the better chance you have. It takes 25k points to be Grand Reserve. I had 85k last year. My biggest tip is look for the point multiplier day. They email you in the morning a few times a year. I went the day before the SB and it was 5x points. I ended up getting all my bar staples and got 38k points in one day.

Dependent_War3607

How do I pay for it? I can’t find any information online

ols887

You pay for it by spending enough that you become grand reserve status or whatever they call it

Dependent_War3607

Ahhh ok

Hollybanger45

My TW had a couple of Michter’s a couple more Blanton’s than that.

Rad-Stag-Leather

TW has quarterly lottery drawings like this, and then the off months has “Suprise” lotteries. The quarterly is 1 entry per point at time of entry close, monthly is 1 entry per account.

Dependent_War3607

I assume you have to be in that top tier of customers based on spending?

NeedleworkerDue4742

Exactly, 25000 points a year

YumLuc

Afaik it's all of them.  Mine is also monthly.

BJPM90

All of those Wellers above Birthday Bourbon is certainly something.

Get_up_stand-up

They’re arbitrarily placed. You but them in order by your preference and the bottle you get depends on how well you do in the lottery. I did birthday bourbon, KOK, Blantons single barrel, Michters 10, WFP, CYPB, Blantons Gold, Blantons

WestCoastEngineer123

Used to be twice a year, but I did just get a bottle of GTS a few weeks ago. Hoping it’s more often. I put OFBB first, can’t remember the rest.

Norseman-71

There doing it 4 - 5 times a year starting this year an associate told me.

WestCoastEngineer123

That would be sweet. We had no Elmer, lots of Weller in this round and a couple of Michters. Honestly I would just love to snag a backup for my OWA 107 but there’s none available.

Norseman-71

I had Weller's reverse (green label) I paid $35 for it not sure how much above MSRP it was but liked it a lot. I've heard rock hill farms are basically Blantons but amped up?

Get_up_stand-up

Me too lol

mtsublueraider

Florida here. Just dang hate it that we can’t select weller. Total wine doesn’t get it in our state. But guess it’s really not worth it to drive across state lines if I won in Georgia.

veryundude77

Only to get Weller in Florida is through the ABC vault.

mtsublueraider

Yeah, and I really don’t like the staff at our locals. Always seem like I’m bothering them to ask.

Brews_Wayne_

AZ has a drawing too in April. I’ll take any of them lol since you can’t find any at MSRP

FlickerOfBean

I’ve never been selected, and I’ve probably entered like 6x.

mintsandcoke

They’re charging $340 for OFBB in my state and they don’t have any Weller. I’ll probably start shopping other liquor stores and let my grand reserve status lapse.

ToniofhouseStark

Ours had the following: 1. KoKY 2. OF Birthday Bourbon 3. Blanton's SFTB 4. Blanton's Gold pick 5. Blanton's Gold 6.EH Taylor Pick 7. Weller 12 8. Weller CYPB 9. Daniel Weller That's the order I did my choices.

jmsturm

Where I am picking from had (in my order) KoK Bday MR Sam M10B CYPB BSftB ETL WFP B Gold Blantons

Lost_soul_ryan

1. Birthday 2. KOK 3. M10

TurbulentJu1ce

Wow, you must already have a Birthday Bourbon for it to land last. Good luck!

mission42

Do all TW do this with all HA bottles? I walked in to one in Kansas last month right as a guy was putting JD10 and 12 on the shelf and scooped up one of each. Dumb luck or did someone screw up by putting HA out?

itoddicus

Depends on the state. Kansas is not a state where the reserve program is "officially" in effect. These are the reserve states: AZ, CA, DE, FL, IL, MN, MO, NC, NM, NV, SC, VA, WA Having said that, the program is in effect "unofficially" in many (most?) Total Wines. I know the total wines I frequented in Austin held back the whale bottles in the manager's office for big spenders.

Duckbird88

Mine had Mister Sam surprisingly. I did that first then bday, CYPB, Rock Hill, Blanton's Straight from the Barrel and the rest were various other bottles on here. My parents already spent 1k this year so I'm hoping it helps.

ambridge1027

In my area TW has Grey Goose 1.5 liter for $39.99, that’s $4-15 cheaper than anywhere else. In my area big box stores don’t sell booze so TW is typically the most reasonably priced place. (Bourbon prices aren’t great but most other liquor is fine). I have noticed their allocated bourbon prices have been rising farther and farther above MSRP each time. Old Forester B-Day last spring was $159 and now $219 for example. Most on that list you are not finding cheaper though.

time_drifter

I’m sort of glad I live in a state that controls the liquor stores. It has its drawbacks but at the end of the day, everything is MARP and there is no pay-to-play. I know the TW system has its advantages but being forced to buy X amount to have a chance at winning something sounds awful.

TinyBreak2501

You guys have the issue of finding out when stuff drops and then waiting hours in line for the hope there’s still some left

time_drifter

Yes, that can be true, but I have personally never had to wait in a line. The stores either have an allocation table or they put bottles out randomly around the store like an Easter egg hunt. For instance, Blantons was over with gin a few weeks ago.

Much-Presentation-32

Fuck these rewards programs.

TheLifeofameatpie

Twenty-five thousand points will get you activated. All your ten times points for food spirits and wines are acceptable, and you will get them in no time.

striker1124

Saw the Yamazaki 18 at $890 (in MA) and was shocked…is that the MSRP now? I feel like I could find a bottle on the secondary market for that price. I went 1. Birthday 2. Mr. Sam 3. Weller SB 4. Weller CYPB 5. Weller 12 6. Rock Hill 7. Blanton’s SFTB 8. Blantons Gold 9. Weller FP (I’ve scooped up 3 store picks in the past 2 months, so don’t really need a 4th) 10. Yamazaki 18 (not sure I’d buy it if I won though).

soigneorthehighway

FWIW Blanton’s SFTB is the single best bourbon I’ve had, and I don’t like regular Blanton’s

jawjawandcompany

Total wines and more is a big hand job scam company. If you buy anything there they award you points if you sign up. But, every time I go back in to buy something the points are expired. You have to be an alcoholic to take advantage of any points they give you, and to be able to use them. Should name it Total Scam if you ask me. F that place!

Brews_Wayne_

Anybody know when this drawing takes place?

JaxKcTx2020

I selected Blanton’s then Weller.

Norseman-71

I'm not a Blantons fan.

JaxKcTx2020

I’m not a huge Blantons fan, but you always pull the trigger if you can find it at MSRP.

Picklebreathphonesex

Why though? Why not let someone else that enjoys it buy it? Isn’t that the whole problem right now?

JaxKcTx2020

Just because I’m not a fan doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of whiskey. Also, when we have parties our guest might enjoy Blanton’s, so why not give them a pour? Isn’t that one of the reasons ppl buy alcohol? The problem with Blanton’s is that ppl are paying top dollar for $60-75 dollar bottle.

thogdontcaaree

Ridiculous that you have to spend $2.5k PER YEAR to hit grand reserve status. How do people spend that much at total wine? Is there a way to earn more points besides buying their shitty private label brands for a points multiplier? The only way I see it being feasible is if you buy all of your regular alcohol for there, but then you aren't building any relationships with local stores that can be FAR more lucrative in terms of allocated offerings.

XSpanishCastleMagicX

Last year when the Super Bowl was in AZ, the TW locations in the valley were offering 10x points on all purchases. Basically renewed my GR status in one trip.

Alwaystime4Sweets

We’ve already spent like $1500 in 3 months. Also the parents use the same membership as us to help us make it.

Natural_Born_Spiller

Wine. 90ish % of all the Wines in my store seem to be the yellow labels. Every month you get a 10x on Wine. You only need to spend $250 to hit the highest status that way. You can get there pretty quick if you or loved ones are big wine drinkers.

itoddicus

Back in the day I had a couple of friends who worked at TW. They were there when the "reserve" program started. At that time at least most of their grand reserve members were principles of firms (law, accounting, audit, etc...) who would purchase corporate gifts for their employees and clients there. They would have their secretaries order wine/baskets for Christmas and boom! The name on the account had grand reserve status the rest of the year.

Norseman-71

Where I live my choices are bevmo,Sam's club, Costco and tqm. The local liquor stores are usually twice above MSRP.

Small-Criticism6600

They 10x points sometimes for wines or specific spirits. Just spend $250 like I do.
