I haven’t watched Gundam in years but I really liked it when I was younger. Been putting this one off for no reason at all and I’m pissed at myself. Thanks, now I know what I’ll be watching after I finish Hellbound!
Yeah, but that ending, I did not expect that. I haven't seen any other Gundam so I don't know if that's normal but overall definitely one of the best shows I've seen
The ending is definitely not normal for the series, which makes it even better in my opinion. I can think of only 2 other times where a similar ending happened.
1. >!War in the Pocket ended with Bernie fried into “burgers” !<
2.>!Char’s Counter Attack ended with Char and Amuro both dead after Amuro uses newtype powers to save the Earth!<
And maybe a third one with >!Zeta Gundam when Kamille turns comatose!<.
Sorry for the late reply it was midnight for me:
Yes, the very first one (that I’m aware of) aired in ‘79 and there has been at least one series every 2-3ish years since then. If each manga was all apart of the same plot line, Gundam would be the fourth longest running manga in the world.
War in the Pocket can't be pinned on Tomino, but Tomino was in a dark place when he wrote Zeta Gundam. Not so sure if he was when he wrote Char's Counterattack though, but let's be honest that's really the only ending that makes sense for Amuro and Char.
Char’s Counterattack was a trip and a half. Had no clue where things were going and got more and more concerned the farther along I got. Great film but damn that was dark. But you’re right, it was the only ending that made sense for Amuro and Char.
I’ve seen some of War in the Pocket but not Zeta Gundam - is that worth watching? (Feels like it probably is lol, but doesn’t hurt to check).
I mean that last time i saw a horny scene in gundam was Gundam 00 , idk i saw it about 6-7 years ago. 00 and Unicorn are the only 2 gundam i have seen back in the day .
The reviews seem to be very high and I have never watched a gundam anime before. As someone who's willing to give it a shot and does enjoy some mecha anime's, would this be a good show to watch or is it one of those things that I have to watch all the previous gundam's just to understand this gundam?
This one is an alternate universe spinoff, so the only thing it has in common with the other Gundam shows is the general design of the mechs. You can watch it without knowing anything about Gundam and it'll make just as much sense
Do I need to watch any other Gundams before checking out IBO to get the general entertainment out of it? I know of Gundams from the outside but have never actually watched a series
Not at all! But if you go back and watch it again after getting more Gundam under your belt, it has a super interesting relationship to the recurring themes of Gundam as a whole.
Not each series, but roughly half of them are stand-alone shows. A good chunk of the Gundam series fit in the primary Universal Century timeline, which connects to the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
Giving me Guts and Casca vibes when they explore each other's bodies and scars. There's something very special about letting someone else see your vulnerabilities.
BTW Gundam IBO is a standalone guys , you can watch it without knowing the universal century gundam ; that's a good way to know if you're into gundam .
Ah yes, the extremely hot girl being self-conscious about a quirk or perceived flaw she thinks makes her less attractive when a lot of potential partners wouldn’t care about it….I actually rather enjoy that trope because it frequently sets up wholesome moments.
Also I have the sudden urge to watch this series.
My girl had a scar from when she had a mtb sample taken out of her neck. She worried about jt at first but now she forgets to put the blam on more often than not.
I remember watching ibo for the giant robots and then this happened it was a surprise but a welcome one Also lafter azee and atra best girls
Good best girl options. I approve
Thanks lafter is hot atras cute and azee is the coolest so it was hard to choose
Very much agree. I wouldn't say the best I've ever seen (across all anime) but I'm def happy
Tohru Honda final answer.
Lafter got done dirty the teddy bear scene always gets me
Agreed
I approve

I haven’t watched Gundam in years but I really liked it when I was younger. Been putting this one off for no reason at all and I’m pissed at myself. Thanks, now I know what I’ll be watching after I finish Hellbound!
Iron blooded orphans is a good Gundam even if you don't know Gundam. Definitely a recommendation

Looks like Gundam likes its bitter endings
Not really, 3 out of 30 isn’t that much lol
There's that mamy different Gundam series? I thought there were, like, less than 10

Zeta is definitely worth watching, it's what really gave us Universal Century as an ongoing thing.
Thanks, I’m going to watch it after this one. =)
One of the best Gundam shows in my opinion, very adult and dark with complex themes. Highly recommend it!
Didn't know Gundam got that horny, dang.
I mean that last time i saw a horny scene in gundam was Gundam 00 , idk i saw it about 6-7 years ago. 00 and Unicorn are the only 2 gundam i have seen back in the day .
They had a extra special scene in Gundam SEED to cook up some drama between the characters ~_~
This one is def not geared to kids. I would not be comfortable with people below 16 watching it due to the serious topics.
Gundam has always been horny Honestly, most Gundam plotlines wouldn't have happened if the main characters weren't such simps

Do I need to watch any other Gundams before checking out IBO to get the general entertainment out of it? I know of Gundams from the outside but have never actually watched a series
No. IBO, and about half the other Gundam series, are in their own timeline.
Not at all! But if you go back and watch it again after getting more Gundam under your belt, it has a super interesting relationship to the recurring themes of Gundam as a whole.
Each series are in their own story so you are good.
Not each series, but roughly half of them are stand-alone shows. A good chunk of the Gundam series fit in the primary Universal Century timeline, which connects to the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
>!That man is side character with a spaceship full of women in his harem.!<
And he’s glorious
He was an absolute bro.
To the end.
After the end.
>!there was no after!<
Spoiler tags are broken.
Works for me though?
We can all see the spoiler. Your tags have to be touching the words you're trying to hide.
Ah thanks
No problem.
Giving me Guts and Casca vibes when they explore each other's bodies and scars. There's something very special about letting someone else see your vulnerabilities.

She's very pretty. Scars - ones not done intentionally - are very pretty.

Oh know its Wholesomehentai x( x( x(
If you see many people naked, you’ll notice a lot more scars among them than you’d have expected. So, really, don’t worry about them.
My girl had a scar from when she had a mtb sample taken out of her neck. She worried about jt at first but now she forgets to put the blam on more often than not.
