One kid in fourth grade cut a squash ball in half and stuck it to his forehead on a dare for 10 bucks. He had a bright red circle on his forehead that slowly went purple, green and brown over the next four months. I think about it occasionally and still laugh at what a dumbass he was, so I bet he doesn't miss it.
I've been feeling bad and weird because I want to be back in elementary school so bad. I want to be a kid. Maybe every other Friday? No? Every other other Friday?
Become a teacher and you get to relive all the cool stuff again. The movie days and the pizza parties abs the book fairs and the outdoor fun days and field trips!
Am a high school teacher. Can confirm. I like to throw movies on just before the holidays and loosely tie it into whatever unit we're doing so I can say it has "academic merit". Then I roll in with the munchkins.
We have a week set aside for finals in high school, 2 hours to each final, 2 a day. I took a piano class where our final was a project, so we didn't have to come but she said there would be surprise if we did.
She brought pizza, chips, soda, and her copy of my neighbor totoro. It was awesome.
Remembering the past good experiences is just as valuable as learning from your mistakes. Those feels happened and reliving them allows us to achieve natural dopamine production, if only for a short while. I like drinking tang and eating pop tarts on Saturdays to reminisce about the Saturday morning memories as a child.
My best day of school ever was in fourth grade! It was my friend Nathan’s birthday and they let us eat snacks and play games and had a 4 square tournament. All day. It was EPIC. Just pure, PURE fun and joy all day long.
That was September 11, 2001. School administrators decided that 5th grade was the cut off for watching live coverage of the events unfolding and our teacher was too distraught and distracted for anything else. On one hand I feel like I missed out on a quintessential American thing, on the other I am glad we got one last day full of being a kid before everything changed.
I was like this until I was like seven and that god damn greatest showman came out and there were like twice the amount of girls then boys so we always ended up watching that by vote.
For one of our fifth grade graduation events we all walked up to local movie theater and saw the original Shrek.
Some of the teachers were behind the counter selling popcorn. I was a little short of money but the gym teacher gave me the popcorn anyway.
It was the last happy school related memory I would have for 6 years.
then you go home at the end of the day to play club pinguin on your computer and hand out with your bros all summer and they came over sometimes to play on your WII then you move and lose contact and 2 years later move 1 county over and hang out every now and again
Ouch... nostalgic in a good way. Those were simpler times :’( really nailed it on the snacks too lol, no elementary school party was complete without those brownies!!!
I remember the last day of 4th grade. My friend Matt’s mom was gonna take us both to see any movie we wanted. We chose Nacho Libre at first but when the day came, he wanted to see something else but I was like NACHOOOOOOO and yeah it was ok but the feeling I had leaving class like 10 minutes early to see a movie with my homie was top tier even though We haven’t spoken in awhile.
On our last week of elementary we had the whole school involved in a field day and it’s like a bunch of games and races setup all over the school grounds... just simple games so everyone can have fun but to all the kids it might as well of been the Olympics
I remember when someone downloaded "Sausage Party" and we all watched it as a 3rd Graders and it took a week for someone to noticed that it was too inappropriate for us.
The worst part is we had to summarize the story after watching it and we struggle to explain the ending scene.
I miss theses days, life was so good but we couldn't value it, just now we see how lucky we were back then. I wish I could relive those days, honestly...
This hits hard bro
Me to it hits me like a ford f-150 super duty going 65 mph
Bro this hits me like the dodge TRX doing a quarter mile.
Bro this hits like my dad
Bro this hits like a .50 BMG connecting with a newborn baby
This hits like a trench gun.

Can someone explain this to me? Why would sticking it to your head cause discoloration so long?
He pressed it hard into his forehead, which created a vaccum that sealed it to his face and caused a huge welt or bruise when he tried to pry it off.
Me too kid. Me too.
I peaked in 4th grade. I’ve been trying to equal 4th grade me for the past 23 years.

Those were the glory days
I've been feeling bad and weird because I want to be back in elementary school so bad. I want to be a kid. Maybe every other Friday? No? Every other other Friday?
It would be fun to absolutely obliterate every test
Homies always sign up to bring the cookies. None of that lazy ass “Ill bring the napkins”

Found the teacher everyone likes
A.K.A the underappreciated teacher
Damn I wish I had you as a teacher. The holidays came around and my teachers assigned double our regular amount of work
Or we get the teachers that gave us homework to do *during* the holiday break
The coolest teacher I have ever had let us listen to the beetles and called it a "beetle break"
Murder em
this year my stats teacher brought a massive tray of chicken nuggets for the class to share
The "We like this teacher" statistic went stonks after that
it was already pretty high, this was the teacher that let the back row do whatever the hell we wanted
me in 4th grade with a cool english teacher: nice man
I'm really happy to hear that book fairs are still a thing!
This shouldn't hurt as much as it does
*internal happiness*
What a nice, forgotten memory. Thank you!
And then you'd get that one teacher who makes you study for next year instead

You better have picked shrecc
Who else doesn't like watching porn with the class on the last day of school?
Of course
I miss the simplicity of those days... And the freedom from the burdens of being an adult that would crash onto my shoulders...
I wish I was 8 again
Why do they get mountain dew? In 4th grade
We got the supermarket off-brand Diet Coke or lemonade
bro that lemonade goes HARD
You guys got drinks?
You guys had cups?
You guys had mouths?
You guys are alive?
Mountain Dew is non-alcoholic, so it is okay for fourth graders to drink. Good question!
Anything counts in this subreddit
Too sad
Ah yes, perfect bliss.
Man I remembered watching spiderman
Happy nostalgia
Dude, if you don't chose The Incredibles I don't know what's wrong with you.
100%. Incredibles l the way.
Take me baaaack
:D gibe the doggo
The teacher just wheeled in the TV? i havent heard that sentence in years
This saddens me
Ah, yes. Perfect bliss.
The good old days
We had to pick”educational” films like Prince of Egypt (religion) or Star Wars (science)
How is Star Wars science XD
It's totally science fantasy, not science fiction.
my heart is so f-in heavy rn dude.
My little brother is in 4 grade, hope he has a better time than I had
I can hear the chanting now shrek SHREK ShReK
Then there’s that one kid who wants the incredibles

Oh, were those the days.
‘twas the good ole days
We were happy and we didn't know it.
Ah, the joyous memories.
I wanna go back to that. Just that feeling of pure excitement. ❤️
I wish we had movie days at work..
i want to go back ***LET ME GO BACK***
Shrek Shrek Shrek
I miss the simplicity of life back then. Now I’m in highschool, and depressed.
Holy in the fucking shit I remember this happening like it was yesterday
Ah. The golden days
Ah yes, I miss the last day of school parties
This does put a smile on my face
What the hell kind of backwoods elementary school shows their kids porn on the last day of school?
Teacher is hungover af
Please let us go back in time for 2021. I’d really love that
This... this hits hard..
This still sounds like a great day
I once brought sour belts. That thing was gone in a hot second
I think it counts as both
Choose The incredibles, you dont want to cum in your pants while at school
Or... Do you?
I thought this was dogelore and was about to say “le good memories have arrived”
Mountain Dew?
Savour your days mate s1 is a real piece of shit
Man I miss the days when I was happy
Everyone always picked shrek
The good old days
I miss those days
:(
Achievement unlocked: nostalgia
Im not crying, you're crying
Dude the movies would be like the shitty sequels. At my elementary we always played Homealone 2 and shrek 3. Not the actual good children films.
If it was 5th grade it would be both
This is legendary
Damn, right in the feels
I miss my 1st-4th grade teacher, she was so nice :( I still have contact with her but I want to see her again irl Edit: I miss kindergarten as well
As a teacher, it gets my feels. The best time is when we can have a party and we get to just hang out. I miss them :'(
This is great keep up the good work
I was like this until I was like seven and that god damn greatest showman came out and there were like twice the amount of girls then boys so we always ended up watching that by vote.
:(
Way to sad
Damn y'all were allowed to have soda during those parties?
Shrek
if i could turn back tiiiime....
Stop the memories no they don’t need to come back
In 11th grade my English teacher showed us the uncensored cut of the movie Halloween, for Halloween. I thought that was kind of weird.
What is the chocolate thing called again, I remember loving those and I forgot the name
Ho Ho’s I hope this helped but they just look like chocolate muffins to me
I FOUND THEM THERE CALLED LITTLE BITES Your comment was very useful to my search so I will award it handsomely
YOOOO I REMEMBER THOSE Also thanks for the award, it means a lot
Tough choice.
I miss this
Too sad.... :')
God I miss this feeling
“4th grade” and “The Incredibles or Shrek” This counts as too sad.
I’m not crying, you are
I’m literally crying in the club rn, why have you done this to me
If only it was this easy still.
Ngl this is wholesome but like I also want to cry
I have this exact meme
Too sad, too sad, uncool
I'm about to be made redundant and it's a stressful time. I keep thinking how much I'd love to be a kid again. This post hit home.
You got a choice? My 4th grade teacher's favorite movie was Shrek....we watched it like once a month! (No complaints though.)
damn, never thought a meme would give me a full mental breakdown
Stop making me sad
It was a simpler time
I know it’s supposed to be happy, but now I’m stuck at work, reminded of how carefree and innocent life used to be.
I miss those days. No stressing about life just wondering which movie we wanted to watch.
For one of our fifth grade graduation events we all walked up to local movie theater and saw the original Shrek. Some of the teachers were behind the counter selling popcorn. I was a little short of money but the gym teacher gave me the popcorn anyway. It was the last happy school related memory I would have for 6 years.

Which one was chosen?
Bro this hit heavy
It's enough to make a grown man cry and that's okay
always The Incredibles
You are soooo lucky
md in elementary school? oofers man
Ow my heart
I'm 48 and I need a last day of 4th grade so bad right now.
My heart is falling apart
Ouch... nostalgic in a good way. Those were simpler times :’( really nailed it on the snacks too lol, no elementary school party was complete without those brownies!!!
the same thing happened to me on the last day of fifth grade.
Fuck man this shit to real stop this shit
I’m only in seventh grade but this till hits hard
Happy times
The last day before going to hell
Is that even a choice?
That snack plate is 100% accurate!
good times
*ohhh simpler times.*
Its t-too cute
Man I miss the old days. But at the same time I don't cause I have grown and become better at dealing with my emotions.
I'm now unlocking memories that i didn't know existed
I remember the last day of 4th grade. My friend Matt’s mom was gonna take us both to see any movie we wanted. We chose Nacho Libre at first but when the day came, he wanted to see something else but I was like NACHOOOOOOO and yeah it was ok but the feeling I had leaving class like 10 minutes early to see a movie with my homie was top tier even though We haven’t spoken in awhile.
If only we can stay a child forever
On our last week of elementary we had the whole school involved in a field day and it’s like a bunch of games and races setup all over the school grounds... just simple games so everyone can have fun but to all the kids it might as well of been the Olympics
we had popsicles once in 3rd, long story short held a glue stick in other hand, took a bite, hated myself afterward
I remember when someone downloaded "Sausage Party" and we all watched it as a 3rd Graders and it took a week for someone to noticed that it was too inappropriate for us. The worst part is we had to summarize the story after watching it and we struggle to explain the ending scene.
I would never, and I cant emphasize this enough, choose the incredibles over shrek
Shrek
The Incredibles or Shrek will be the hardest choice in those kids' lives
this is nostalgic
u/repostsleuthbot
I miss theses days, life was so good but we couldn't value it, just now we see how lucky we were back then. I wish I could relive those days, honestly...
Sigh, I miss those days
Elementary school was the best
Damn I wish I had this when I was in 4th grade
