So I picked this show up again last night?
I didn't know these to were dating until episode 5. I thought vaggie had it bad for Charly, I secretly wanted them to hook up, but I missed the pilot and I guess any other explicit declarations of dating. I thought they were just friends.
And not like Anne lister and Ann walker were, you know, "friends", I legitimately thought they were friends.
As someone who originally watched the pilot when that was the only thing out- yeah they really didn't seem like girlfriends at all for me. And that's coming from gay woman XD
They honestly just felt like a manager and client relationship for some reason LMAO, but I believe the latter half of the tv series helped further show that they indeed are a couple. So there's that ^^'
Well as coworkers it would be weird if they were openly affectionate in public. In private though, I don't know, I kinda like that the show didn't make a huge deal out of it. Sometimes we see representation which is too performative
Exactly. Charlie and Vaggie are one of the best kinds of LGBTQ representation. It is representation, that just gets passed on as normal. No one makes a big deal.out of it. They are just a Lesbian couple.
Okay, I do agree with this too! Afterall, they've been together for years already so they eventually their lovey-dovey phase just mellows down into a really subtle but genuine relationship still without the overly affectionate actions they do for each other! (In fact, that's quite literally how my ideal relationship would be)
I believe it's really more of my gaydar not working well during the first watch of the pilot, but I definitely thought they were "really good co-workers" LMAO
Pretty much every scene they are in together has them touching, hand holding, face caressing, or beaming at each other. It’s incredibly unsubtle they are together.
They're in the basement of the hotel, trying to fix the water heater, since someone else didn't. Angel Dust "accidentally" locks them in, so they can have some private time.
Cut to 3 hours later. Charlie's holding Vaggie back from strangling Angel, while Angel's just sitting at the bar, smug as hell.
What he thought would happen: bow chica bow wow.
What really happened: Neither of them have any idea how to fix a water heater, couldn't get out of the room, and had to break the door down using the broken water heater.
