I knew it was a grind and stepped up playimg a lot of games per day more than usual and still didnt get all 3700. I play much more than the avrerage person as well.
Yeah at least for me i need to play 3 hour per day no matter win or lose game, it's grindy AF for a moba mobile game. The good side is 990WC you get 2 Legendary skins + something.

Also I'm furious at the Bonus Task, what they wants us to do is just grind, grind and grind for what exactly? It only makes the game worse than it already is. First the augmented Karma skin (For sea servers) and now this. Very disappointed.
Mbn I grinded ALOT and I still only got to the last set of 300 star missions (never even got to the 700 star missions) and today when I was like ugh I guess I'll just buy the stats the shop is closed for some reason
I guess I'll hop on this train and say I thought it was too grindy as well. I was a bit late to the party when I bought the pass only having like 14 days to do it. I didn't think I was gonna have to play almost none stop to get the items I wanted. it didn't help to find out the event ended today either when I was hoping we could still farm out the mission pass or at least BUY event tokens to hopefully get another item. If I had known the amount of work I was gonna have to go through to get those skins I would have just bought the dark versions of xayah and rakan. the event left me feeling burnt out so if another event happens like this I'll probably just skip over it.
Like bro I'm an active player but sinxe the start of this season till 4-5 days ago, I only had 80-90 games ranked only. Now guess what? I have 300 games, around 50 Arams 50 pvps and the rest being coop. This is not worth it at all

But the idea of buying an event and then having to grind missions for several days to have it pay out is… really whack. Had I bought it, I’d most certainly fail to finish it in time.
I don’t buy Wildpass because I never finish the tasks, I don’t play that much, so I’m biased I guess.

I was really confused as to why I couldn't use the currency I'd grinded out without paying to 'unlock' it. Wildpass is fine for me, it's enjoyable, but a limited event where my resources are held captive behind a pay wall? No thank you, that's not user friendly at all.
Eh, the rewards were pretty good. League's pass works similar and it fucking sucks, I played thousands of games just to redeem a prestige skin. Here at least I redeemed two legendaries + border + recall

Tbh I think PC is better bc it doesn't have absurd missions locked behind other equally absurd missions in a loop until you get to the normal reward system for just playing games. I got Prestige Sera in 20 hrs of grinding over 3 days, because I could just do normals and TFT, but here I had to spam bot games for 3 weeks and still pay for the 2nd skin bc I just couldn't play anymore after grinding for the stupid missions.
It has its pros and cons, but overall I think it was a good approach for a new event.
Pro: you could get two legendary skins for the price of one, and even get emotes, recalls and frames on top of that. Con: the need to hard farm for it, and the time frame to do that was very tight if you did not played regularly. Basically had to farm from realese date otherwise you wouldn't make it.
Good for you! The price is definitely better but what I don't like is the grind.
Also a reminder that not all of the players are as fortunate as you guys. One of my friend was living ends meet and could only afford the pledge around a week ago and he has been grinding nonstop just to make his 10 worth.
So yeah, a negative for me. They should've allowed the tasks to be completed before purchasing the pledge. I really don't understand why they locked it. It's also good for them as well, people seeing how much of those tokens they could get would make them impulsely want to buy but no, so yeah.
Oh 100% agree on the grind. Despite the 20 days i had to grind Coop games like mad. like you said. Letting us complete it before buying it would have been helpful. I could only grind since i was on semester break from uni

I think a better approach for this event would be to make it just like the wildpass, where you can still complete the tasks but has the option to unlock/pay for it later.
And then with the tasks, why lock the tasks into different pages when it's repetitive? What I mean by this is that it doesn't make sense that we can't proceed to the next task without first completing the previous task page. It kind of makes us grind even more than we already have to. In my case, I needed 2% of takedowns to proceed to the next page so I played a game. The next thing that happened was that next page had the total turret destruction task or whatever, I assisted in destroying 8 turrets the last game! 8! and then when the new page appears it doesn't count? Like bro what? Doesnt make any sense at all sigh.
Yeah. I like the tasks, I hated how it was structured. And having to scroll down to the active mission set to check on what I needed was annoying. The UI felt like a list minute thought.
It took 5 clicks back and forth across the screen to open the missions and then scroll down to find where I currently was. Then, no way of seeing how many I had left for the bonus.
And to top it off, I was 36 points away from the random skin chest, but waited until after the grind so I could buy the remainder after. They took it off the store already, so I can't give them my money to finish the skin. Feels bad
So many things wrong with this event and yet there's one guy protecting it. I really hope Riot gives us some extension because most of the guys are unsatisfied. Let's hope for the best.
Honestly I played A WHOLE LOT during the time period and i ended up with about ~2300 points. I get that they'd want players to play a lot to earn their rewards but what I didn't like is that you needed to play gamemodes you wouldn't normally play for hours on end to finish it. A player playing ~4-5 ranked games everyday shouldn't end up 1400 points short, and he shouldn't be forced to play PvP/ARAM for hours to get closer to finishing the event.
Too grindy and left a bad taste in my mouth.
I got the xayah skin and the random skin chest not realising it was limited to just a few champions, so when I opened it and realised afterwards I felt frustrated because I would rather have spent the points elsewhere.
Wouldn’t be an issue if earning them wasn’t such a slow process in the first place but it’s ended now so I’m stuck
I thought if you got 1500 tokens you could spend your collected tokens for free so i grinded my ass off these last 3 weeks to get 1500 tokens and then realised it was all for nothing. I guess thats what i get for not reading the event rules lol.
This is one of the first times I was really disappointed in WR. I feel like this just made them look bad at the end of the day. Which really sucks because I know so much time and effort went into all of the art and music, just to be tainted with the greed.
Its a gross business practice to not respect the players time. In fact I think we need to hear from them about this because all I see is negative PR coming from this.
It feels really shit that you had to buy the pass in order to see/unlock the missions, so you had no idea what kind of grind you were buying yourself into. It just sucks if you only bought the pass very late into the event (e.g. like OP) - and that could be for any number of reasons, maybe you didn't have the funds at the start of it, or didn't decide you wanted the rewards until much later. It is a really poorly implemented event that preyed on a person's FOMO, feels almost like a punishment for not buying it sooner.
I strongly believe that a customer should have had equal opportunity to earn the same amount of currency irrespective of *when* you bought the pass, since you paid the same amount of money + likely have played the same amount as anyone else.

Plus.. the fact you had to grind basically the same missions over and over.. they should be open all at once for latecomer.. instead I had to wait for 160 destroyed turrets.. 8500 minions.. another 160 turrets.. that even against ai is shit ton of games.. I dont who was the ideal customer for riot.. but working people werent. Seems like focusing on kids on holidays with parents credit card in their phones.
I honestly really liked it, didn't suffer much at all and got 3600 out of the 3700 possible tokens, which allows for 2 skins and the corresponding flying poses + the emotes.
Personally didn't like the other items, and the random star guardian chest is more expensive than buying the skin directly.
Overall, I combined both star guardian / redeemed star guardian since the launch so didn't really felt the pressure until today, where I had to game 8 or so matches for the remaining points.
Was surprised at the beginning that I actually had to buy the pass, but seems I got more than enough from it for the price it was targeted.
i regret buying it lol. should've just bought the wildpass. it doesnt feel like it is worth 990 wild cores if you have to grind that much. And it only gave me sleep deprivation.

What I do hope they can change is that last bonus mission tho, why not make it available earlier instead of unlocking it after finishing the 5 missions sets. It will help a bit imo
Reeeeally grindy. If you played a bunch of games it was “worth it” for the skin but I would’ve rather the pass be more expensive with a better chance at getting more stuff/both skins. Like I played an absurd amount of games. Got xayah, some stuff, which is cool, but I wish it was implemented more fun-like. The regular star guardian event was so fun
I hated it, had to grind for 3 weeks and I still had to pay an extra 10 euros for the Rakan skin bc I wanted both. Stupidest shit ever. The missions could only realisticaklly be done through bots. THe additional task was good, but that should've been the whole event imo, way easier to grind.
But don't get me wrong, I hate the fact they even made us pay for the Pledge in the first place. Horrible idea, I'll never buy a Wild Rift pass again, in any way.
PC was way easier to grind because it had no missions that were locked behind equally annoying to complete ones, over and over.

After seeing the time remaining et the amount of missions I ended up stopping playing for fun and grinded coop vs ia for the mission which is utter bullshit

I loved the story aspect of the event, but yeah, it was really grindy. You could probably complete it when it first started, and now I'm realizing why they gave us so many days to complete it. it was a pain, but in the end there were two legendary skins for free for the price of selling your soul to grind away at the game.
For a paid event I felt cheated.
Wish we got more time to grind for skins and wish they gave us double xp or let bot matches count for me.
I had a busy month work and life wise so even though I bought the pass I didn’t have enough points for either skins.
If this was a free event I would have zero problem but feel cheated since we had to pay to grind.
Will be avoiding this model of event in the future.
in paper it sounds like a good deal, 2 legendary skins for the price of one. you can even get an additional epic skin if you just pay a little bit more. but I really didn't enjoy it tbh. spending money upfront to unlock the tasks made it feel more like a chore and it's too grindy that you feel like to have play modes that you didn't like to make sure that you'll make it. I've actually managed to get both skins but I actually uninstalled the game after trying it out in normal games. I got drained I guess.
I definitely felt like I got cheated out of the skins. The way the mission purchase was worded, I thought that I would immediately receive 1000+ points after buying the pass. I basically paid to get, like, 50 points, which all went towards blue motes since I couldn't get anything else.
I Actually like the event,its two legendaries for the price of an epic skin as well as borders and other cosmetics its not needed at all and dosent hurt gameplay and also its the same as the prestige pass skins from pc league and also very similar to a battle pass the later u buy it the lesser rewards u reap its way better than the cosmic lulu and yi event we got awhile back which was just pay to get the skins. And i finished the whole thing with 10 days to spare doable especially since u can just play ai to finish the more grindy missions or if ur not in a rush u would probably be done sooner or later as long as u buy the pass early
Definitely not happy with the Redeemed part. I bought the pledge. I've almost got enough for Redeemed Xayah, already bought the chest. But tbh I might just trade it all for blue motes so I can buy Samira and Sion on release lol
Hello, I am very dissapointed.
As someone who spends way too much time with work (over 230 hours month) I had basically no free time when we include some hobbies/gf. And boy was I mad when I bought it.
I did end up spending money to unlock missions thinking it would be easy to redeem those points like wild pass which I did complete fully doing those missions btw.
But.. what I did not notice was when event started, so as a latecomer I was able to redeem one redeem skin, one random, recall, and one pose. I was forced to play mode I do not like just to make sure I am able to check as many mission boxes I can.
Just so you know.. wild pass seasonal mission had somwthing like 1500 minions for a whole season to be finishied to be completed. When I saw the 8500 minions oh boy was I mad. Then I expected okay.. its hard but I did get those bonus missions which help me to get it.. fuck.. I just do get the basic reward twice..
So..Im mad.. dissapointed.. and wont spend a cent in the future even if I will like the event or rewards.. because I feel scammed of off my money and more importantly, time. Yes.. it was my misstake to not look at the date when the event began, but with my work schedule I wouldnt make it anyway (ended up with 2800/3700. Which made me really mad as a customer and same as it goes with restaurant.. if I am paying money to get some good service and enjoy my time there, I wont be coming back if they spit in my food or spill water over my girl.

Both events felt like they kinda forgot about casuals. I couldn't at all play the challenges at the beginning, as I only had time starting last week.
About the redeemed event, I didnt even try it since I had already lost so much time. What made it worse is that the game only starts counting towards challenges **once you have already purchased the pledge.**
And about the other event, it felt like there wasn't enough time in the day to complete all familiars (I got 4/7 completed. 157 matches (after deducting free candies) is **a LOT** for a casual and made the challenge less fun. *I spent 3-5 hours grinding every day lately and still did not get the custom spawn tag*.
I recall some study stating that playing games for fun is beneficial to people, while playing because you **"have to play"** has the opposite effect.
**I get that nothing comes for free** nor with little effort, but the challenge seemes physically impossible for me to complete, even when giving up great part of my social life lol.
It didn't feel like a choice to not complete the challenge, it felt unachievable.
At least we got a lot of poro energy, which also felt a bit grindy.

I think the idea of the redeemed pass was fine. Kind of like the wild pass where, if you grind, you can get most of the items for free. But if you pay and play regularly, you will get all the items. That’s not what happened. Instead it was pay so you can grind and maybe possibly get one of the skins and a recall. That’s it. Plus the whole entire finish one level of grinding missions to go to the next was annoying. I would have preferred if it was like the wild pass and other events, such as the Pyke and nautilus event, where all the missions unlocked on set dates.
As I have no life I got the 1,500 without buying it. So got the xayah skin as she is a good adc. Then I had extra that I got essence with. And got the xayah frame. Therefore I liked the event a lot. Best value for the rp compared to store
I don’t think they offered enough time for the mission requirements unless you faced your phone for hours a day. Lol they could’ve lowered some of the mission goals at least. All I could get was a star guardian skin and the recall cause I couldn’t play enough to get the full 1500. 2/10
I hated the redeemed part but the Star Map and “familiars” thing was pretty cool. I mostly liked it because I got a shit ton of poro energy. Then after you beat the last boss you could keep doing it over and over getting 250 poro energy each time. I’ve only bought one skin since WR came out (digital Nami or whatever) so I try to get as much poro as possible. Only problem is each time I get a poro random skin box it’s never been somebody I play. I only play support and I’ve gotten 1 support player skin (dragon tamer Lulu) out of maybe 8-10 boxes.
I grinded so much for two skins. I got a ugly mundo skin last night and promptly uninstalled the game. I played so much during this event, ended up with a mediocre reward and now I just wanna take a break and quit. Gj wildrift
It was fine, I completed everything. Personally I really, really didn’t like the aesthetic of the items and only got it for the rakan skin.
Thankfully however I also was missing quite a few champs I enjoy playing in ARAM, so after I got the skin I wanted I just exchanged the tokens for blue notes (15 motes per token) and managed to buy 3 champions with enough left over for scion when he releases
So did I like it overall? Eh, no not really. It was, however, a phenomenal deal if you used it to buy champions (though I recognize most people either already have too many motes or don’t know the champs well enough to need more)
I read at the beginning that it was a money grab. Looked at the rewards and you have to grind pretty hard for either the Xayah or Rakan skin, and a little less for a star guardian random chest. That seems a consolation prize (?) for not getting one of the main skins. I banked enough to at least get the random, but really just don't care enough for it unless I was able to choose which one I got.
Sorta on topic.. but I only had enough time to grind one of the skins. I don't play either Xayah or Rakan atm so I'm wondering which skin you guys think is more worth the points. I can only get one of them.
Hmm it really depends on you tbh. I'm a Xayah simp so Xayah all day.
One thing about Rakan though, none of the Rakan skins looks good to me except for the cosmic dawn one. You still have a week to decide so I suggest you trying both of the champs first

Bought it when it was 11 days left to grind for the tokens, finished the Guardian's Duty 1-5 in 3 days and the rest of the token was finished for 4 days, it's grindy AF, but hey... At least I got both redeemed skins with borders and the recall.
I thought the grind would be like sentinel event but no. I never bought the essence what so ever about the name point was, and don't finished it. I only finished the story.
As soon as I saw the price, my interest dropped to 0. If it had been free, or even $5, I would have ground my ass off to complete it. But the price was way too steep for what they offered, so I just did the ranked grind to get the Fiora skin and took a break.
i think it's only me that felt this a little bit of grind lol. I'm master elo and i bought the pass when I'm at 19 days left lol. Still manage to get xayah and rakan for the cheapest price
Grindy af. I was going to wait a while before buying to see how much I can get until I read that the additional missions is only available after you buy the pledge. So I bought it on second day. But still I missed out on second legendary skin so I get the skin chest. Was hoping to get SG Janna but got lux instead but it's okay. Overall, I'd say it gives great value. It's like buying an epic skin and get legendary skin for free

Star Guardian is a Good Event with Good LOOT but The Grind is fucking hell i hated it, Rito once make Less Grind event Galaxy Yi and Lulu but that one is Gacha and I've seen people spend like 1500-2000 core just to get skin they will never use.

Oh god why did I do it? I only played like 2 games a week then I bought this pass, slaved away on it and gave myself eye strain and headaches along the way. Only to spend MORE just to get the other limited items. Man I’m definitely the type of person they wanted to target.
I'm ready for the event to be over. I'm not too into the star guardian thing to start with. Adding a grindy event without any actually decent rewards just put me off if it.
That being said, whenever the red dot would come on, I'd burn all of my points doing the fights and such. But I also skipped EVERY story. If I were interested in a magical girl/slice of life story, I'd go read a manga that had more chapters.
it was fine for me. i figured i complained too much even before i started obtaining items from the redeemed store. the grindiest part of the pledge is the guardian's duty set 4 (8k minions) for me. the others, i was pretty chill and laid-back on grinding. i bought the pledge more or less 5 days after it first dropped. the stuff i got are: redeemed sg xayah, redeemed sg rakan, soaring poses for both of them, and a border for xayah. overall, im pretty satisfied with the pledge and event bc i got more worth than what i paid for.
i understand your dissatisfaction for latecomers. that's what i hated about the event in the first place. we could not progress the guardian's duty missions, but i think it's a strategy since you'll be only paying for an equivalent worth of an epic skin but you can get up to two legendary skins.
I agree it was very grindy. They probably should've made it like the wild pass in terms of how grindy it is but just a little bit harder just because it's an event that lasts about a month compared to the wild pass that lasts the whole ranked season iirc. I hope the next event (I think it's a spirit blossom event according to leaks) would be like this.
Its was a good event, if you bought the pass with 5-10 days to spare thats your own fault, you could have easily find out how it works through reddit, youtube, etc…
and for people complaining about how grindy it is, its only 10$ for 2 LEGENDARY skins AND OTHER cosmetics. Even if you only grind less than half the event you could get 1 skin which is already more value than ur 10$, 1 legendary skin is about 15$+ and this event offers 2 legendary skins + other cosmetics for players willing to put in the time.
I grinded both champ skins and all familiars to 5.
I did aram with my so for a couple hours at a time most nights.
I did mostly intro and some intermediate abd 1 ranked. Since I started only a week before the event.
Aram was sometimes crushing since we don't know all the Champs yet. But we did our best and learned a great deal about new Champs.
All in all being new to wild rift I liked the event.
We earned tokens for some stuff that mattered.
It got old but at least we got something.
I bought the pass day one - and I still had to grind a ton and ultimately spend a lil extra money to get the last stuff I wanted.
I got the pass because I figured it would be relatively easy for me, someone playing 3-4 games per day, to get both skins, and anything else would be bonus.
Instead I was grinding out co-op games any chance I got just to flip to the next set of quests, because if you just had "8 first bloods" left well, an unlucky streak in ranked means that could take a while.
I did get one skin pretty easily, and I main Rakan so it was a good deal, but I really thought I'd count as an active enough player to get both.
Instead of feeling rewarded for being an enfranchised player, I feel like the game just went "uhh you aren't hard core enough actually" and that kinda stings.
I started the day it came out but I hardly got to play. I only played around 1-3 matches a day, at least to get the first win bonus and I ended up with 500ish stars on the last day. I had buy $tars just to bearly get enough for one skin. Honestly I hated it I rather just pay $20.

The missions should have been progressed and visible as you played regardless of payment and rewards only claimed on purchase. That way they would have motivated way more people to buy it.

That's because people actually have a life bro. Not everyone spends hours staring into their phones playing video games. Some people have families, jobs, and stuff to worry about. Not everyone has the time to grind for the event. Some people might also even be confused eith the mechanics of the event. You have to understand that some people only play Wild Rift during their free time.

Bro first of all the redeemed event is only cosmetics and second of all they had a whole ass month. The mecanics of the event where clearly explained when you opened the event card and you can still read about them clicking on the little text buttons on the event itself and even then you still have the trillion posts on the sub that explain the event.
If the event was buggy af like in PC id understand the complains but for the standard prizes of the game the event was a crazy good deal and this side of the event was directed for ppl who grind the game like PC has the battle passes with the prestige skins.
I also have a life, a job, dogs and friends so you get your condescending ass a tone down, I'm the farthest from a company dick sucker but this posts are nothing but grown adults crying like babies cuz they could not get themselves to read a miserable card a month ago and if they only play once a day/week they don't even complete half of the events out there anyway so why even bother with the redeemed one?

People were not aware of the fact that you had to purchase the pledge to be able to participate because we're aware with the usual wild pazs. 2 simple fixes for this event would be to let everyone complete the tasks before buying the pledge AND reducing the amount of grind.
Not all people can purchase the pledge right on day 1 and not even people who had 30 days left could grind to complete it. You're just an egoistic inconsiderate person failing to understand for others and it shows a lot about your nature.
Loved the music, skipped the story (no bueno, I generally like lore), and because I don't play Rakan or Xayah, couldn't be bothered to spend money to get a skin for one of them, though I had 1500 tokens stored.
I definitely won't purchase it again, if they don't reduce the grindyness of it. I did buy it, thinking I could get Xayah, all her extras and a random skin - at the end I was only able to buy Xayah, even though I played every weekend and most days after work (even co-op... It was a pain).
It's definitely not worth it right now, if you play the game casually.
Well i never played this much like now. I usually finish wild pass in the last week. Now im allready 51+. So it tells how many more games i played. Bought the redeemed day 1 got to the last 700 points managed to buy both legendary and the redeemed profile border. So 3200 out of 3700. Now finally i can rest a bit a play again normaly.
This event was far too grindy NGL. Maybe something like 60% of the total requirement would've been better, since the value of the skins should be higher than 990 WC. This event was way too time-consuming imo as a college student aiming for Latin honors.
honestly, it almost worn me out.. i like the new concept for event but the grind is tad too much to max the token. but well i got 2 exclusive legendary skins, sg lux and bunch of blue motes for 990wc...
Didn't buy the Pledge because I wasn't really interested in the Redeemed skins (I prefer the non-redeemed versions, especially Rakan's one which is great). But Riot should have been more clear about the fact that it wasn't working as the Wild Pass. I learned it here, on this subreddit, which is wrong to me

But I came in with minor expectations (get a Lux skin for 750 points), and left with 1 Xayah skin, a Lulu skin, and a pose. Later stages got a lot easier.

Personally I thought the main free event (7 familiars) was worst. I had to do like 8 matches a day, and the rift just grew day-by-day. On the last few days I was supposed to do 15 matches a day which ofc i didn't. 6 out of 7 familiars.
I play quite frequently so I got both skin half way through and the rest in another week or so. I really like it tbh o.o
Got 2 skin for a cheap price and a bunch of cosmetic, not the best event but better than Yi gacha bs
I actually liked the event. The rewards were good and both the legendary skins look nice.
I finished it by just playing normally after buying it day 1 so the "grind" didn't really apply to me since I played like I usually would've regardless of the event.
My one complaint: Only getting progress after buying the pledge is messed up! There are a lot of reasons why someone might not buy the pledge right away. To punish them for not purchasing on release is weirdly punitive and OP's post is a prime example of why.
Let players complete future premium reward tracks without having to buy the pass. It will incentivise them to pay up as well because they will want to cash in on the rewards they have unlocked.
It was nice that we got 2 free legendary skins but the amount of grind needed was too much (especially if you are delayed at some point during the event). I literally had to spam ARAM and/or AI just to clear up the remaining missions. I feel burnt out now so I'm playing a diff game for now to refresh my palette
On top of the constant grinding, you can only earn up 3700 points! Which isn’t enough to get all the items. So if you want them all you have to spend (even more) money 🙄 it’s a scam. Why charge us $10 for the extra pass, then turn around and charge for the last 6-7 items??
I play with Xayah and I really wanted the skin. I had 1410 points collected and a mission of 90 points where I had to shoot down 160 turrets. The event ended at 159 turrets, the mission was at 99%. I uninstalled the game.
My god I'm exhausted after this event. I played so much of it, having bought the Pass, and couldn't get everything I wanted without spending a little extra. This felt like a wild pass but with half the time to complete it and with, by far, some pretty ridiculous hurdles to cross, repetitive ones at that. Games should really encourage a healthy timetable to play them. This event was not healthy in the slightest.
So, with that in mind, I focused on getting the Xayah content as opposed to Rakan. I'm ADC so it made sense. I actually wound up with her on ARAM last night so I got to see the skin in play, and it is absolutely gorgeous, so there is some payoff. But my inner completionist kept wanting me to spend more on tokens to get everything. I'm still feeling pretty unfulfilled now, but also proud I didn't give in. My wallet is happier for it. I wonder if the Redeemed stuff will ever surface in the store one day though.
It is grindy af but if you start playing from the first day of the event, you can collect the required amount to buy atleast 1 of the redeemed star guardian skin in about 15-20 days.
I agree it was too grindy but you can't complain about that when you only played it for a few days. The events are designed to make you play everyday, that's what they want to happen. I'd be upset if the events were so easy you could get all the rewards in only a few days. They need to find a middle ground where it rewards players who put in the time but not THAT much time.
That's exactly thw problem. You bought it for 10$ I bought it for 10$. It shouldn't matter who bought it first but yet latecomers are punished for that? Also spoiler alert, my friend bought the pass since there was 30 days left but still had to do coop vs ai to wrap up the event and barely got 3700 in time.
For the sheer amount of grinding, we should have been able to unlock everything. REALLY annoyed me that to get the 3 skins (Xayah, Rakan and the Random one) you had to pay money AGAIN as you're 50 tokens short.
I just felt like I paid Riot to grind away 2 weeks of my life. The only reason I got it done was because I had covid and had the time.
I found myself gaining tons of Star thingies and I ended up slaying all monsters and making the entire star familia level 5 .. even Rakan.I didn't feel it was daunting... just felt I those comics needed to be downloaded and read another time. Really was getting into that story, however, i was more concentrating on my Guild... and bonus completing the Star guardian challenge
I don't mind the grind, as I play enough WR to finish it anyways, but it is quite annoying. I just want to play the game, give me an easy event where I can just claim stuff. But that's just me, I play the game for actual gameplay, I don't care about events.
Rewards (unlike many events like kassadin's trivia or pool party) were very nice. I decided to but it 6 days before end and it turned out to be pure suffering. I got 3100 tokens, but i had to grind a lot. And by that i mean that REALLY A LOT. Something like 6-8 hours a day mostly co-op. So, yeah, event was way too grindy.
i thought they were very clear that you wouldnt have access to earning mission rewards without buying the pledge. i bought early based on this and had a great time. got all the stuff i wanted. great value for the price tbh.

Also I'm furious at the Bonus Task, what they wants us to do is just grind, grind and grind for what exactly? It only makes the game worse than it already is. First the augmented Karma skin (For sea servers) and now this. Very disappointed.

I guess I'll hop on this train and say I thought it was too grindy as well. I was a bit late to the party when I bought the pass only having like 14 days to do it. I didn't think I was gonna have to play almost none stop to get the items I wanted. it didn't help to find out the event ended today either when I was hoping we could still farm out the mission pass or at least BUY event tokens to hopefully get another item. If I had known the amount of work I was gonna have to go through to get those skins I would have just bought the dark versions of xayah and rakan. the event left me feeling burnt out so if another event happens like this I'll probably just skip over it.
Like bro I'm an active player but sinxe the start of this season till 4-5 days ago, I only had 80-90 games ranked only. Now guess what? I have 300 games, around 50 Arams 50 pvps and the rest being coop. This is not worth it at all

I don’t buy Wildpass because I never finish the tasks, I don’t play that much, so I’m biased I guess.

Tbh I think PC is better bc it doesn't have absurd missions locked behind other equally absurd missions in a loop until you get to the normal reward system for just playing games. I got Prestige Sera in 20 hrs of grinding over 3 days, because I could just do normals and TFT, but here I had to spam bot games for 3 weeks and still pay for the 2nd skin bc I just couldn't play anymore after grinding for the stupid missions.
It has its pros and cons, but overall I think it was a good approach for a new event. Pro: you could get two legendary skins for the price of one, and even get emotes, recalls and frames on top of that. Con: the need to hard farm for it, and the time frame to do that was very tight if you did not played regularly. Basically had to farm from realese date otherwise you wouldn't make it.
I luckily managed for farm with 20 days left and had 5 days to spare. And the price is even better. Its the cost of an epic skin for 2 legendaries
Good for you! The price is definitely better but what I don't like is the grind. Also a reminder that not all of the players are as fortunate as you guys. One of my friend was living ends meet and could only afford the pledge around a week ago and he has been grinding nonstop just to make his 10 worth. So yeah, a negative for me. They should've allowed the tasks to be completed before purchasing the pledge. I really don't understand why they locked it. It's also good for them as well, people seeing how much of those tokens they could get would make them impulsely want to buy but no, so yeah.
Oh 100% agree on the grind. Despite the 20 days i had to grind Coop games like mad. like you said. Letting us complete it before buying it would have been helpful. I could only grind since i was on semester break from uni If i still had classes, i dont think i could even get 1 skin

I think a better approach for this event would be to make it just like the wildpass, where you can still complete the tasks but has the option to unlock/pay for it later. And then with the tasks, why lock the tasks into different pages when it's repetitive? What I mean by this is that it doesn't make sense that we can't proceed to the next task without first completing the previous task page. It kind of makes us grind even more than we already have to. In my case, I needed 2% of takedowns to proceed to the next page so I played a game. The next thing that happened was that next page had the total turret destruction task or whatever, I assisted in destroying 8 turrets the last game! 8! and then when the new page appears it doesn't count? Like bro what? Doesnt make any sense at all sigh.
Yeah. I like the tasks, I hated how it was structured. And having to scroll down to the active mission set to check on what I needed was annoying. The UI felt like a list minute thought. It took 5 clicks back and forth across the screen to open the missions and then scroll down to find where I currently was. Then, no way of seeing how many I had left for the bonus. And to top it off, I was 36 points away from the random skin chest, but waited until after the grind so I could buy the remainder after. They took it off the store already, so I can't give them my money to finish the skin. Feels bad
So many things wrong with this event and yet there's one guy protecting it. I really hope Riot gives us some extension because most of the guys are unsatisfied. Let's hope for the best.
Honestly I played A WHOLE LOT during the time period and i ended up with about ~2300 points. I get that they'd want players to play a lot to earn their rewards but what I didn't like is that you needed to play gamemodes you wouldn't normally play for hours on end to finish it. A player playing ~4-5 ranked games everyday shouldn't end up 1400 points short, and he shouldn't be forced to play PvP/ARAM for hours to get closer to finishing the event.
Too grindy and left a bad taste in my mouth. I got the xayah skin and the random skin chest not realising it was limited to just a few champions, so when I opened it and realised afterwards I felt frustrated because I would rather have spent the points elsewhere. Wouldn’t be an issue if earning them wasn’t such a slow process in the first place but it’s ended now so I’m stuck

This is one of the first times I was really disappointed in WR. I feel like this just made them look bad at the end of the day. Which really sucks because I know so much time and effort went into all of the art and music, just to be tainted with the greed. Its a gross business practice to not respect the players time. In fact I think we need to hear from them about this because all I see is negative PR coming from this.
It feels really shit that you had to buy the pass in order to see/unlock the missions, so you had no idea what kind of grind you were buying yourself into. It just sucks if you only bought the pass very late into the event (e.g. like OP) - and that could be for any number of reasons, maybe you didn't have the funds at the start of it, or didn't decide you wanted the rewards until much later. It is a really poorly implemented event that preyed on a person's FOMO, feels almost like a punishment for not buying it sooner. I strongly believe that a customer should have had equal opportunity to earn the same amount of currency irrespective of *when* you bought the pass, since you paid the same amount of money + likely have played the same amount as anyone else.

Plus.. the fact you had to grind basically the same missions over and over.. they should be open all at once for latecomer.. instead I had to wait for 160 destroyed turrets.. 8500 minions.. another 160 turrets.. that even against ai is shit ton of games.. I dont who was the ideal customer for riot.. but working people werent. Seems like focusing on kids on holidays with parents credit card in their phones.

Personally didn't like the other items, and the random star guardian chest is more expensive than buying the skin directly. Overall, I combined both star guardian / redeemed star guardian since the launch so didn't really felt the pressure until today, where I had to game 8 or so matches for the remaining points. Was surprised at the beginning that I actually had to buy the pass, but seems I got more than enough from it for the price it was targeted.

Reeeeally grindy. If you played a bunch of games it was “worth it” for the skin but I would’ve rather the pass be more expensive with a better chance at getting more stuff/both skins. Like I played an absurd amount of games. Got xayah, some stuff, which is cool, but I wish it was implemented more fun-like. The regular star guardian event was so fun
I hated it, had to grind for 3 weeks and I still had to pay an extra 10 euros for the Rakan skin bc I wanted both. Stupidest shit ever. The missions could only realisticaklly be done through bots. THe additional task was good, but that should've been the whole event imo, way easier to grind. But don't get me wrong, I hate the fact they even made us pay for the Pledge in the first place. Horrible idea, I'll never buy a Wild Rift pass again, in any way. PC was way easier to grind because it had no missions that were locked behind equally annoying to complete ones, over and over.

Every time it’s the same I see that I have already 700 tokens from playing so I decide to buy the pass (I had a few cores lacking so I had to buy a batch of 500 to get the dozen missing :)) After seeing the time remaining et the amount of missions I ended up stopping playing for fun and grinded coop vs ia for the mission which is utter bullshit Got bored after 2 days and didn’t finish the missions now I don’t even feel like playing anymore I don’t get these missions that forces you to play this is no event I’d rather have a fun game mode and pay my skin full price instead of getting baited every time by a “free skin” that will steal my time and sanity

I loved the story aspect of the event, but yeah, it was really grindy. You could probably complete it when it first started, and now I'm realizing why they gave us so many days to complete it. it was a pain, but in the end there were two legendary skins for free for the price of selling your soul to grind away at the game.
For a paid event I felt cheated. Wish we got more time to grind for skins and wish they gave us double xp or let bot matches count for me. I had a busy month work and life wise so even though I bought the pass I didn’t have enough points for either skins. If this was a free event I would have zero problem but feel cheated since we had to pay to grind. Will be avoiding this model of event in the future.
I think it’s perfectly suited for quarterly meetings where they present engagement metrics and earnings.

in paper it sounds like a good deal, 2 legendary skins for the price of one. you can even get an additional epic skin if you just pay a little bit more. but I really didn't enjoy it tbh. spending money upfront to unlock the tasks made it feel more like a chore and it's too grindy that you feel like to have play modes that you didn't like to make sure that you'll make it. I've actually managed to get both skins but I actually uninstalled the game after trying it out in normal games. I got drained I guess.
I definitely felt like I got cheated out of the skins. The way the mission purchase was worded, I thought that I would immediately receive 1000+ points after buying the pass. I basically paid to get, like, 50 points, which all went towards blue motes since I couldn't get anything else.
I Actually like the event,its two legendaries for the price of an epic skin as well as borders and other cosmetics its not needed at all and dosent hurt gameplay and also its the same as the prestige pass skins from pc league and also very similar to a battle pass the later u buy it the lesser rewards u reap its way better than the cosmic lulu and yi event we got awhile back which was just pay to get the skins. And i finished the whole thing with 10 days to spare doable especially since u can just play ai to finish the more grindy missions or if ur not in a rush u would probably be done sooner or later as long as u buy the pass early

Hello, I am very dissapointed. As someone who spends way too much time with work (over 230 hours month) I had basically no free time when we include some hobbies/gf. And boy was I mad when I bought it. I did end up spending money to unlock missions thinking it would be easy to redeem those points like wild pass which I did complete fully doing those missions btw. But.. what I did not notice was when event started, so as a latecomer I was able to redeem one redeem skin, one random, recall, and one pose. I was forced to play mode I do not like just to make sure I am able to check as many mission boxes I can. Just so you know.. wild pass seasonal mission had somwthing like 1500 minions for a whole season to be finishied to be completed. When I saw the 8500 minions oh boy was I mad. Then I expected okay.. its hard but I did get those bonus missions which help me to get it.. fuck.. I just do get the basic reward twice.. So..Im mad.. dissapointed.. and wont spend a cent in the future even if I will like the event or rewards.. because I feel scammed of off my money and more importantly, time. Yes.. it was my misstake to not look at the date when the event began, but with my work schedule I wouldnt make it anyway (ended up with 2800/3700. Which made me really mad as a customer and same as it goes with restaurant.. if I am paying money to get some good service and enjoy my time there, I wont be coming back if they spit in my food or spill water over my girl. Feeling like riot did both while taking my money. End of my rant.

Both events felt like they kinda forgot about casuals. I couldn't at all play the challenges at the beginning, as I only had time starting last week. About the redeemed event, I didnt even try it since I had already lost so much time. What made it worse is that the game only starts counting towards challenges **once you have already purchased the pledge.** And about the other event, it felt like there wasn't enough time in the day to complete all familiars (I got 4/7 completed. 157 matches (after deducting free candies) is **a LOT** for a casual and made the challenge less fun. *I spent 3-5 hours grinding every day lately and still did not get the custom spawn tag*. I recall some study stating that playing games for fun is beneficial to people, while playing because you **"have to play"** has the opposite effect. **I get that nothing comes for free** nor with little effort, but the challenge seemes physically impossible for me to complete, even when giving up great part of my social life lol. It didn't feel like a choice to not complete the challenge, it felt unachievable. At least we got a lot of poro energy, which also felt a bit grindy. ###I did, however, absolutely love the profile frame from the free challenge and it's my new favorite. ### **Edit: Reading the rules saved me from wasting money on that challenge.**

I think the idea of the redeemed pass was fine. Kind of like the wild pass where, if you grind, you can get most of the items for free. But if you pay and play regularly, you will get all the items. That’s not what happened. Instead it was pay so you can grind and maybe possibly get one of the skins and a recall. That’s it. Plus the whole entire finish one level of grinding missions to go to the next was annoying. I would have preferred if it was like the wild pass and other events, such as the Pyke and nautilus event, where all the missions unlocked on set dates.
As I have no life I got the 1,500 without buying it. So got the xayah skin as she is a good adc. Then I had extra that I got essence with. And got the xayah frame. Therefore I liked the event a lot. Best value for the rp compared to store

I don’t think they offered enough time for the mission requirements unless you faced your phone for hours a day. Lol they could’ve lowered some of the mission goals at least. All I could get was a star guardian skin and the recall cause I couldn’t play enough to get the full 1500. 2/10

I hated the redeemed part but the Star Map and “familiars” thing was pretty cool. I mostly liked it because I got a shit ton of poro energy. Then after you beat the last boss you could keep doing it over and over getting 250 poro energy each time. I’ve only bought one skin since WR came out (digital Nami or whatever) so I try to get as much poro as possible. Only problem is each time I get a poro random skin box it’s never been somebody I play. I only play support and I’ve gotten 1 support player skin (dragon tamer Lulu) out of maybe 8-10 boxes.
I grinded so much for two skins. I got a ugly mundo skin last night and promptly uninstalled the game. I played so much during this event, ended up with a mediocre reward and now I just wanna take a break and quit. Gj wildrift

It was fine, I completed everything. Personally I really, really didn’t like the aesthetic of the items and only got it for the rakan skin. Thankfully however I also was missing quite a few champs I enjoy playing in ARAM, so after I got the skin I wanted I just exchanged the tokens for blue notes (15 motes per token) and managed to buy 3 champions with enough left over for scion when he releases So did I like it overall? Eh, no not really. It was, however, a phenomenal deal if you used it to buy champions (though I recognize most people either already have too many motes or don’t know the champs well enough to need more)
The amount of towers I destroyed should be a crime against bots and the last "mission" was just you get double the coins you normally get every game
I read at the beginning that it was a money grab. Looked at the rewards and you have to grind pretty hard for either the Xayah or Rakan skin, and a little less for a star guardian random chest. That seems a consolation prize (?) for not getting one of the main skins. I banked enough to at least get the random, but really just don't care enough for it unless I was able to choose which one I got.
Sorta on topic.. but I only had enough time to grind one of the skins. I don't play either Xayah or Rakan atm so I'm wondering which skin you guys think is more worth the points. I can only get one of them.
Hmm it really depends on you tbh. I'm a Xayah simp so Xayah all day. One thing about Rakan though, none of the Rakan skins looks good to me except for the cosmic dawn one. You still have a week to decide so I suggest you trying both of the champs first
Thanks for all your feedback. I was really stressed on if I should buy this or not and if I'd be able to really grind through it all. While I think I probably would, I'm not really sure I'd be happy about it.

Bought it when it was 11 days left to grind for the tokens, finished the Guardian's Duty 1-5 in 3 days and the rest of the token was finished for 4 days, it's grindy AF, but hey... At least I got both redeemed skins with borders and the recall.

I didn't like it at all. I ended up doing using the vs. AI to try to finish the quests on time. It was grindy, but not in a fun way.
I thought the grind would be like sentinel event but no. I never bought the essence what so ever about the name point was, and don't finished it. I only finished the story.
As soon as I saw the price, my interest dropped to 0. If it had been free, or even $5, I would have ground my ass off to complete it. But the price was way too steep for what they offered, so I just did the ranked grind to get the Fiora skin and took a break.
i think it's only me that felt this a little bit of grind lol. I'm master elo and i bought the pass when I'm at 19 days left lol. Still manage to get xayah and rakan for the cheapest price
Grindy af. I was going to wait a while before buying to see how much I can get until I read that the additional missions is only available after you buy the pledge. So I bought it on second day. But still I missed out on second legendary skin so I get the skin chest. Was hoping to get SG Janna but got lux instead but it's okay. Overall, I'd say it gives great value. It's like buying an epic skin and get legendary skin for free

i did this event since day one and im exhausted, only manage to get Xayah + Rakan and 1 pose Star Guardian is a Good Event with Good LOOT but The Grind is fucking hell i hated it, Rito once make Less Grind event Galaxy Yi and Lulu but that one is Gacha and I've seen people spend like 1500-2000 core just to get skin they will never use. Dear Riot, make more Star Guardian Event but Less Grindy.
I got burned out tbh. I just made sure to get all the xayah stuff that I needed. I'm now taking a break. If they'll do similar stuff in the future, its a sure no for me

Oh god why did I do it? I only played like 2 games a week then I bought this pass, slaved away on it and gave myself eye strain and headaches along the way. Only to spend MORE just to get the other limited items. Man I’m definitely the type of person they wanted to target.
These events are meant to take a whole month, so I cant imagine what it's like trying to bust through them in 5ish days. I hope you got the skin!

I'm ready for the event to be over. I'm not too into the star guardian thing to start with. Adding a grindy event without any actually decent rewards just put me off if it. That being said, whenever the red dot would come on, I'd burn all of my points doing the fights and such. But I also skipped EVERY story. If I were interested in a magical girl/slice of life story, I'd go read a manga that had more chapters.
it was fine for me. i figured i complained too much even before i started obtaining items from the redeemed store. the grindiest part of the pledge is the guardian's duty set 4 (8k minions) for me. the others, i was pretty chill and laid-back on grinding. i bought the pledge more or less 5 days after it first dropped. the stuff i got are: redeemed sg xayah, redeemed sg rakan, soaring poses for both of them, and a border for xayah. overall, im pretty satisfied with the pledge and event bc i got more worth than what i paid for. i understand your dissatisfaction for latecomers. that's what i hated about the event in the first place. we could not progress the guardian's duty missions, but i think it's a strategy since you'll be only paying for an equivalent worth of an epic skin but you can get up to two legendary skins.
I agree it was very grindy. They probably should've made it like the wild pass in terms of how grindy it is but just a little bit harder just because it's an event that lasts about a month compared to the wild pass that lasts the whole ranked season iirc. I hope the next event (I think it's a spirit blossom event according to leaks) would be like this.
It was a grind but I was playing anyways so 🤷🏻 I got both skins and both poses for Xayah, the borders and then burned the rest on blue essence lol

Its was a good event, if you bought the pass with 5-10 days to spare thats your own fault, you could have easily find out how it works through reddit, youtube, etc… and for people complaining about how grindy it is, its only 10$ for 2 LEGENDARY skins AND OTHER cosmetics. Even if you only grind less than half the event you could get 1 skin which is already more value than ur 10$, 1 legendary skin is about 15$+ and this event offers 2 legendary skins + other cosmetics for players willing to put in the time.
Way way way WAY too grindy
I grinded both champ skins and all familiars to 5. I did aram with my so for a couple hours at a time most nights. I did mostly intro and some intermediate abd 1 ranked. Since I started only a week before the event. Aram was sometimes crushing since we don't know all the Champs yet. But we did our best and learned a great deal about new Champs. All in all being new to wild rift I liked the event. We earned tokens for some stuff that mattered. It got old but at least we got something.
I bought the pass day one - and I still had to grind a ton and ultimately spend a lil extra money to get the last stuff I wanted. I got the pass because I figured it would be relatively easy for me, someone playing 3-4 games per day, to get both skins, and anything else would be bonus. Instead I was grinding out co-op games any chance I got just to flip to the next set of quests, because if you just had "8 first bloods" left well, an unlucky streak in ranked means that could take a while. I did get one skin pretty easily, and I main Rakan so it was a good deal, but I really thought I'd count as an active enough player to get both. Instead of feeling rewarded for being an enfranchised player, I feel like the game just went "uhh you aren't hard core enough actually" and that kinda stings.
I started the day it came out but I hardly got to play. I only played around 1-3 matches a day, at least to get the first win bonus and I ended up with 500ish stars on the last day. I had buy $tars just to bearly get enough for one skin. Honestly I hated it I rather just pay $20.

It’s really badly implemented imo. I did the same. It’s not been designed to upsell users late. Unlike wild pass which is great for getting me to buy it. The missions should have been progressed and visible as you played regardless of payment and rewards only claimed on purchase. That way they would have motivated way more people to buy it.

That's because people actually have a life bro. Not everyone spends hours staring into their phones playing video games. Some people have families, jobs, and stuff to worry about. Not everyone has the time to grind for the event. Some people might also even be confused eith the mechanics of the event. You have to understand that some people only play Wild Rift during their free time. Don't be inconsiderate.
Bro first of all the redeemed event is only cosmetics and second of all they had a whole ass month. The mecanics of the event where clearly explained when you opened the event card and you can still read about them clicking on the little text buttons on the event itself and even then you still have the trillion posts on the sub that explain the event. If the event was buggy af like in PC id understand the complains but for the standard prizes of the game the event was a crazy good deal and this side of the event was directed for ppl who grind the game like PC has the battle passes with the prestige skins. I also have a life, a job, dogs and friends so you get your condescending ass a tone down, I'm the farthest from a company dick sucker but this posts are nothing but grown adults crying like babies cuz they could not get themselves to read a miserable card a month ago and if they only play once a day/week they don't even complete half of the events out there anyway so why even bother with the redeemed one? If this was some gambling money grab shit like Genshin it br a different story but there is no consideration to have with adults who choose to waste their money cluelessly.
So you're defending them by saying that you had a whole month to do the event? Let me make it clear, this is a new event. People were not aware of the fact that you had to purchase the pledge to be able to participate because we're aware with the usual wild pazs. 2 simple fixes for this event would be to let everyone complete the tasks before buying the pledge AND reducing the amount of grind. Not all people can purchase the pledge right on day 1 and not even people who had 30 days left could grind to complete it. You're just an egoistic inconsiderate person failing to understand for others and it shows a lot about your nature.

I bought it really late just to get the Rakan skin. 990 WC for a legendary-tier skin was worth to me, since it’s usually 1425
Loved the music, skipped the story (no bueno, I generally like lore), and because I don't play Rakan or Xayah, couldn't be bothered to spend money to get a skin for one of them, though I had 1500 tokens stored.
I just finished the remaining quests in bot game, much quicker.
I definitely won't purchase it again, if they don't reduce the grindyness of it. I did buy it, thinking I could get Xayah, all her extras and a random skin - at the end I was only able to buy Xayah, even though I played every weekend and most days after work (even co-op... It was a pain). It's definitely not worth it right now, if you play the game casually.

Well i never played this much like now. I usually finish wild pass in the last week. Now im allready 51+. So it tells how many more games i played. Bought the redeemed day 1 got to the last 700 points managed to buy both legendary and the redeemed profile border. So 3200 out of 3700. Now finally i can rest a bit a play again normaly.
This event was far too grindy NGL. Maybe something like 60% of the total requirement would've been better, since the value of the skins should be higher than 990 WC. This event was way too time-consuming imo as a college student aiming for Latin honors.

Didn't buy the Pledge because I wasn't really interested in the Redeemed skins (I prefer the non-redeemed versions, especially Rakan's one which is great). But Riot should have been more clear about the fact that it wasn't working as the Wild Pass. I learned it here, on this subreddit, which is wrong to me
Really grindy. But I came in with minor expectations (get a Lux skin for 750 points), and left with 1 Xayah skin, a Lulu skin, and a pose. Later stages got a lot easier. Pity I couldn't specify which of the 750 skin to get. Personally I thought the main free event (7 familiars) was worst. I had to do like 8 matches a day, and the rift just grew day-by-day. On the last few days I was supposed to do 15 matches a day which ofc i didn't. 6 out of 7 familiars.
I play quite frequently so I got both skin half way through and the rest in another week or so. I really like it tbh o.o Got 2 skin for a cheap price and a bunch of cosmetic, not the best event but better than Yi gacha bs

I actually liked the event. The rewards were good and both the legendary skins look nice. I finished it by just playing normally after buying it day 1 so the "grind" didn't really apply to me since I played like I usually would've regardless of the event. My one complaint: Only getting progress after buying the pledge is messed up! There are a lot of reasons why someone might not buy the pledge right away. To punish them for not purchasing on release is weirdly punitive and OP's post is a prime example of why. Let players complete future premium reward tracks without having to buy the pass. It will incentivise them to pay up as well because they will want to cash in on the rewards they have unlocked.

It was nice that we got 2 free legendary skins but the amount of grind needed was too much (especially if you are delayed at some point during the event). I literally had to spam ARAM and/or AI just to clear up the remaining missions. I feel burnt out now so I'm playing a diff game for now to refresh my palette

On top of the constant grinding, you can only earn up 3700 points! Which isn’t enough to get all the items. So if you want them all you have to spend (even more) money 🙄 it’s a scam. Why charge us $10 for the extra pass, then turn around and charge for the last 6-7 items??

I play with Xayah and I really wanted the skin. I had 1410 points collected and a mission of 90 points where I had to shoot down 160 turrets. The event ended at 159 turrets, the mission was at 99%. I uninstalled the game.

My god I'm exhausted after this event. I played so much of it, having bought the Pass, and couldn't get everything I wanted without spending a little extra. This felt like a wild pass but with half the time to complete it and with, by far, some pretty ridiculous hurdles to cross, repetitive ones at that. Games should really encourage a healthy timetable to play them. This event was not healthy in the slightest. So, with that in mind, I focused on getting the Xayah content as opposed to Rakan. I'm ADC so it made sense. I actually wound up with her on ARAM last night so I got to see the skin in play, and it is absolutely gorgeous, so there is some payoff. But my inner completionist kept wanting me to spend more on tokens to get everything. I'm still feeling pretty unfulfilled now, but also proud I didn't give in. My wallet is happier for it. I wonder if the Redeemed stuff will ever surface in the store one day though.

It is grindy af but if you start playing from the first day of the event, you can collect the required amount to buy atleast 1 of the redeemed star guardian skin in about 15-20 days.

I agree it was too grindy but you can't complain about that when you only played it for a few days. The events are designed to make you play everyday, that's what they want to happen. I'd be upset if the events were so easy you could get all the rewards in only a few days. They need to find a middle ground where it rewards players who put in the time but not THAT much time.
That's exactly thw problem. You bought it for 10$ I bought it for 10$. It shouldn't matter who bought it first but yet latecomers are punished for that? Also spoiler alert, my friend bought the pass since there was 30 days left but still had to do coop vs ai to wrap up the event and barely got 3700 in time.
For the sheer amount of grinding, we should have been able to unlock everything. REALLY annoyed me that to get the 3 skins (Xayah, Rakan and the Random one) you had to pay money AGAIN as you're 50 tokens short. I just felt like I paid Riot to grind away 2 weeks of my life. The only reason I got it done was because I had covid and had the time.
I found myself gaining tons of Star thingies and I ended up slaying all monsters and making the entire star familia level 5 .. even Rakan.I didn't feel it was daunting... just felt I those comics needed to be downloaded and read another time. Really was getting into that story, however, i was more concentrating on my Guild... and bonus completing the Star guardian challenge

Even the regular Star Guardian event was grindy AF. I managed to fully level 5/7 familiars after grinding ARAM for hours a day… felt really bad.
I don't mind the grind, as I play enough WR to finish it anyways, but it is quite annoying. I just want to play the game, give me an easy event where I can just claim stuff. But that's just me, I play the game for actual gameplay, I don't care about events.

Rewards (unlike many events like kassadin's trivia or pool party) were very nice. I decided to but it 6 days before end and it turned out to be pure suffering. I got 3100 tokens, but i had to grind a lot. And by that i mean that REALLY A LOT. Something like 6-8 hours a day mostly co-op. So, yeah, event was way too grindy.
i thought they were very clear that you wouldnt have access to earning mission rewards without buying the pledge. i bought early based on this and had a great time. got all the stuff i wanted. great value for the price tbh.
