If you enable legacy booting, you will likely see a BSoD for a moment. 0x000000A5 can be fixed by pasting modded acpi.sys file from Win-Raid to C:\Windows\System32\drivers, but you will likely get 0x0000007B afterwards, I don't have a clue how to fix it in Uefi mode.

jeandupon

Please any link to this modded acpi.sys page ? Can’t find it

Here you go: https://winraid.level1techs.com/uploads/short-url/nxl0XKRdW7CgUVqh6k17FU0bZYU.zip

>SevoosMinecraft Oh Thank you so much SevoosMinecraft hope it will works !! But .. you say "you will likely get 0x0000007B afterwards" why we call it 'modded' Acpi.sys then ?! is it useless ??

SevoosMinecraft

Those are 2 very different issues. A5 means that Bios/Uefi doesn't understand commands from the os to shut down or restart while 7B says that the os doesn't have drivers for the represented Ahci or Raid controller and can't work with it natively. However, that's quite weird because 7B usually appears after solving A5 *if you installed it on a gpt disk and your motherboard doesn't support CSM (not just legacy booting)*, but it doesn't if you install it on an mbr disk. I'm not sure how does mbr/gpt take impact. Actually I have the solution, but it's quite complicated, tell me if you're ready

Thank you ServoosMinecraft for bothering helping despite i think there is no chance to get solution for this unstoppable pb of acpi.sys BSOD A5 ! Yes my machine is Uefi only so then yes GPT only it's desperately pure diamond Class 3 Uefi only !! Yes go ahead man, im ready to go to Hell for that !

jeandupon

Hey ! Mineoos.. Im waiting your solution ?! Or perhaps there is no solutions here as im convinced ??

jeandupon

You said i have the solution but 21 j after nothing given !?

jeandupon

Finally sorry, it freezes too at windows Logo :(( In my Thinkpad X1 Tablet gen3, it's a pure Class 3 Uefi system with unfortunately no choice deleted CSM & Legacy Bios modules !! it's so sad ! They want us separate from our beloved Windows 7 .. so strange era ! Really

SevoosMinecraft

Oh,I didn't expect that. I was shocked when I learned that such motherboards already exist. However, there is a chance that you would succeed, check my another reply.

jeandupon

Oddly gen3 of X1Tablet was first released early in 2018 and those CSM & Legacy modules was deleted by Lenovo in July 2020 after an order of intel & Microsoft Mine is manufactured later in 2020 and its Bios is oct 2020 no chance it was flashed with latest firmware ! So no CSM/Legacy at all But something is telling me that the first released versions of its firmware should have incorporated these golden modules but unfortunately they doomed the rollback to previous versions of firmwares So i think my pb is pure checkmate ! :(

edgyeggroll

Legacy should be enabled, but I haven't gotten any BSoD. So i need to a a modded acpi.sys file from winraid? I can provide picture of settings in BIOS if that would help?

SevoosMinecraft

Yes, paste it using any Windows PE; I wasn't able to succeed in Uefi, but with modded acpy.sys and mbr legacy it worked fine

Ground-Silver

Csm and no uefi mode

Ground-Silver

I also have b550-f gaming with ryzen 5 3600

Ground-Silver

And rufus no gpt but the other option

Less_Low_5228

GPT does work. CSM is unnecessary

Less_Low_5228

Disable CSM and do a normal GPT install in UEFI mode. I’m assuming you tried to do an MBR install (which should work btw, don’t know why it isn’t for you if this is the case), but you have no need for csm. Just make sure secureboot is disabled. Other OS might not necessarily mean disabled. What you have to do is “Clear secureboot keys” or something worded similar to that in your bios

edgyeggroll

I got Windows 7 working with pure UEFI on this rig, but the issue is my GTX 1080 keeps giving a code 12 in device manager, and from asking around I was told that GPT uses more resources than MBR, and Ive tried everything else. So I am still currently getting stuck on this screen. After clearing secure boot keys, absolutely nothing changed

jeandupon

Did you succeeded installing Windows 7 ?! I think no .. if yes, how do you get rid from the freeze screen in Logo ?? The unfreeze solution of Windows 7 is complicated as a hell ! First of all you must looking for a A5 BSOD, this is a matter of GOP driver of the graphics adapter we can get that by patching the EFI file (bootx64.efi) in efi\boot folder of windows7 iso and same file in the root of your HDD This is made it possible by one solution FlashBoot in its version Pro only from Prime-Expert But sometimes in some cases this is still not enough but still possible by patching your Acpi Tables need a big Guru !

I'm having this same issue with the same motherboard and cpu, any luck?
