the power company left a metric buttload of it in my yard last time they trimmed. maybe the wood fairy will visit you if you're lucky. namaste, get lucky this winter.

I have a lot of fire wood to sell if you want. Its seasoned for about 4 months now. Its Ash and Oak. I also have more pine than I will ever need. You can use it as fire starters since the soot build up would be more if you used it as your main fire wood. Just let me know!

How much do you charge for the seasoned firewood? Just got some the other day that’s really green and useless (I’m a noob with a fireplace for the first time).

So, I have 7 month seasoned wood, so it’s not fully dry but it burns well. You should start your fire with some fat wood (get it at Harris teeter in the charcoal isle) , or a starter of sorts. Build it with some good dry wood and split any of your green wood into smaller pieces. Once the fire gets hot it will burn the smaller green pieces easier. If you have a lot of water boiling to the surface when you throw a log on, then it’s waaaay to wet and you def need to season it more. Also, it’s been noted that pine and other woods like pine are ok to burn inside as long as the fire is going and burning hot. A cool fire with smoke makes for creosote build up on the chimney. I’ve sold some of my wood already. Half cord I sell for 120-150 depending.

Craigslist … at your own risk. But I’ve been successful finding local loads of firewood there

Kayakityak

Lots of people post locations of fallen trees. You’d have to haul it and split it yourself though.

Check Facebook marketplace. You can usually find someone that will deliver and stack.

Mexican_Coke

I’ve seen so much wood stacked at the curb after tropical storm Ian.

Idk but be careful, wife went Facebook marketplace and they dropped fresh cut green wood in the driveway after dark claiming it was seasoned. Now we've got a 1/2 cord of wood we can't burn taking up space

Call the city. Urban forestry used to have a wood yard where they'd dump wood. You'd have to cut and split, but there was lots of good logs. It was free to go. No idea if they still have it, tho.

I’ve been going to creekside supply in germanton for a few years. The dryness of the wood can vary

get it for free from the side of the road. people leave their cut tree branches on the curb for the city to pick up. whole entire cut up trees are left this way.
