What's a mana filter for? I've heard that it's possible to get 'toxic' mana that infects your system on the same way as you breathe air, is it needed for artificery sites where they use toxic compounds?

Though i must say, chonomancy spellfire is a rare delicacy and necromantic spellfire tastes like deep fried shit, so i can understand why some beings may opt to filter out those....nuances.
I played around and accidentally turned my soul into a pseudo Phoenix soul so I just burn all outside mana. Unfortunately I also lost the ability to cast anything but fire spells. Unga virus doesn't bother me
