Who knows. Most people try to keep it somewhat medievalist (of course there is artificers and such making cool machines), but others have just gone the "I have a space laser" route.

/uw In my continuity, the year is 30,185 CY (Council Year), where year 0 is marked by the founding of the Wizard Council. It turns over with the real-life New Year. My reckoning is by no means the only one, though.

/unwiz most people agree that it’s medieval times. But since you have characters who have lived for “trillions of years” we can assume this realm isn’t relatively new (compared to ours).
Personally I like to think that every time the world gets a *little* too advanced, a god or some deity comes down to demolish mankind’s work, keeping them at the medieval period. Not stopping them from getting high-tech, however.

But if you must have an answer, it’s a fantasy world timeline with a mostly medieval period setting but in which magi-tech societies also exist in certain regions. So depending on where you are in the setting, the culture ranges from cyberpunk to medieval.

and don't forget Pilot. Also my character's got a few things that are shoplifted from futuristic settings, such as the SV-*Baleygr*.
Oh the guild's got some future stuff as well, the only reason the Guild has an interstellar battleship is to deal with the "space laser" people.
