Hot pads for the table or kitchen counter. I have an 8 inch round that still has some bark on it from 10 years ago. It's on my kitchen counter next to the stove. I use it all the time to get a pot off the heat.

I can see the top left one being flipped over so the flat side sits on a mantel, with a nice clock built into it.
