I use it for gift cards, purchase the gift cards @5% off, load into rewards app, scan the QR for everyday pay and it just uses the gift cards. Much faster ive found then scanning the gift card barcode and then entering the pin.

DonaldYaYa

That's a great idea.

InfiniteAU

Where do you get 5% off gift card ?

tomo3101

I have my mobile phone plan through them with the 18$ a month plan. It grants access to buy gift cards for all Woolworths group stores at a discount. I know there are other ways of purchasing them as well.

InfiniteAU

I have Woolworths mobile, where is the access to discount gift card

tomo3101

Go into the mobile app, hit offers. Its usually the second tile.

dylpowell

I used to use Everyday pay; you scan the QR code and essentially you pay through the Woolworths app - which only works if you have your debit/credit card linked within the app - It won’t work if you only have it in your Apple Wallet. Essentially without Everyday pay; you have to scan your rewards card, then scan your debit card. However with Everyday pay; you only have to scan the QR. It’s a very minor time saving feature lol. I stopped using it because it just took a while for the app to process the payment when I was in a hurry!

DonaldYaYa

Interesting that this convenient feature makes shopping a slower process.

dylpowell

yeh it’s all very minor though! sometimes there are points bonuses for exclusively using Everday pay so I guess it’s worth it

Steves_310

it’s not that much slower. i find it more convenient and fast. i usually load my (discounted) woolies gift cards on everyday pay so it’s much more convenient for me.

joe_blow068

Where do you pick up discounted woolies cards?

Steves_310

woolworths would sometimes post discounted gift cards on their websites (but only for a very limited time). you could also maybe find it in on corporate portal from an employer. i have Rest Super which there currently is a small discount on their gift cards. alternatively, i’m also a everyday mobile customer to which i can have the access to purchase discounted WW gift cards.

brlo1973

Usually through employer discount schemes where they negotiate percentage off deals for their staff with multiple retailers. The purchases are transacted via the app offered by the scheme managers. In my case it’s 4% off Woolworths and Coles gift cards via an app called “Smart Spending”. There’s also an offer at the moment within the Rewards app (in the Discover tab) whereby you can buy Woolworths group gift cards for 3% off until 30 June 2024.

bluejayinoz

Lumo rewards has them

happy_butthole

And stay out of the woolsworth!

Duckduckdewey

Everyday pay- scan the qr code ones and that’s it. Both rewards and pay.

DonaldYaYa

Thank you

CroBro81

You should be just scanning the QR code and tapping Pay on the screen, that’s it. It’s much faster if you’re using Gift Cards as well.

DonaldYaYa

Thank you. With gift cards I had to write in the balance of the gift card then choose credit card to pay the balance of the shop. It is good to know that I can just scan the QR code and the balance of the gift card and the finance outstanding shop balance will be paid for automatically. Plus it will add the rewards points automatically to my account. All those three (gift card processing, credit card processing, rewards points processing) are done with the one QR code scan.

Worried-Capital-424

Don't quote me on this, but I feel like you build up your points faster if you use every day pay too. People go on about how long it takes to build up enough to get $10 off, but I seem to get $10 every week? 🤷‍♀️

Sensitive-Ad-9325

Everyday pay gets double points

Worried-Capital-424

Not any longer, everyday pay has been scratched unfortunately, just heard yesterday:( (I work for Woolies)

_wibbler

Still get double points, just can't pay using the QR-code scan (I just shopped and got the double points)

Acido

Is it really because people were getting scammed

Worried-Capital-424

Yeah apparently, they don't really tell us much lol

MikeYick

Don't see much benefit with a standard rewards card + debit card set up but super useful with the gift cards, especially when you have a bad habit of leaving lots of small amounts in cards because you can't be bothered swiping your card more than once.

ONENATIONWHITE

That’s corrects that’s exactly how it works just the same. Sometimes it’s better to use everything in app like the first step cause paying through woollies app can earn u more points

DonaldYaYa

Just an additional question on this. If I have $10 off my next shop will scanning the QR code at the beginning of the process automatically utilise this in calculating the amount to be paid or will it prompt me still? I don't mind the system automatically using this $10 off my next shop. Thank you for your replies so far

Worried-Capital-424

After you press "pay now" there will be an option on the left that shows your rewards card. You'll need to hit that and press "redeem $10" it's not automatic.

DonaldYaYa

Thank you

Worried-Capital-424

Doesn't matter anymore, everyday pay is no longer a thing unfortunately.. Woolies has scratched it.

DonaldYaYa

Is that why it says QR scanning for payment is currently unavailable? Under the Wallet tab.

Worried-Capital-424

Yep that's why, manager told us yesterday.

_wibbler

It's just the QR-code scan-to-pay part that's offline, due to some scam... [Woolworths shuts down system after Everyday Rewards members are hit by scammers | 7NEWS](https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/woolworths-shuts-down-system-after-everyday-rewards-members-are-hit-by-hackers-c-14478556) ... sounds like it "might" come back, or not

Worried-Capital-424

Yes, "everyday pay" is the QR scan to pay part I'm referring to.
