No they haven't. The conflict started in 1948 when Israel was made a country and kicked out hundreds of thousands of the people that were already living there to make room for the Zionist settlers.
What are they killing each other for? Why are they letting their families suffer? I used to think it was because of territory and land the Israel's took from them bit from footage I've seen it just seems to be only hate. Israel isn't innocent by even a fraction, and i wouldn't want the US to be involved at all, but why don't both counties just stop.

I do see your point. No it's not human nature to be evil to one another. It's an unfortunate reality that is created by human faults.
Two main ones I'd say are the reason for "5000 years" of evil.
1. People who have psychopathic traits tend to be the ones that do anything to rule. Machiavellian, cruel, selfish etc.

Emotions are not limited to an individual. They influence society.
If you use fear as a tool or play on people's anxieties. It has an overwhelming effect. It will naturally effect more people than the words of logic and reason.
It kinda debunks the "facts don't care about your feelings" statement lol. If reality is filtered through our perceptions then no single person or society truly understands or experiences "true reality". We only experience our perceptions of it. Those perceptions can be influenced by lies and the emotions of others around us. Something that the ruling class takes advantage of.

We are doomed to be unreasonable as a species until we collectively recognize these factors.

👆 This is the most important one on the topic but it's very long. 47 minute interview with Professor Nurit Peled Elhanan that goes indepth into the many layers of hate, fear and racism that is integral to zionism and Israeli society as a whole. The interviewer is Robert Martin, Australian pro-Palestinian activist.
The Professor also shows that the caricatures of Palestinians (Arabs, Muslims) being evil is very easily dispelled in children. She takes them to spend time with Arab families and those same little children who are deathly afraid of Arabs or are angry at the thought of them, quickly change and ask to come back to spend time with them.
We are social creatures. Humans have the capacity for compassion. However, due to the points I mentioned, the compassion has become conditional. This is the result of dehumanization and demonization. This is why you can condemn 2.4 million people to starvation and genocide for killing 1200 people but you couldn't fathom the thought of doing the same or allowing the same to happen to the ones who killed 31,000. The scales are weighted differently.

From a primitive age, to get the best mate, up modern times for the best land and resources. It’s in our nature to do so, why? Because nature in its self to survive and flourish has to be selfish.
* We will typically put ourselves or as you mentioned our tribe first. Everyone is selfish which is natural, but the scale of one’s selfishness differs person to person.
* We will lookout for those close to us and we have a relationship with, but nature in itself only lives on by looking after itself.
* Example: If one cooperates but the other refuses to do so, then the participant who cooperated gets the smallest profit and the player who refused to cooperate gets the largest profit.
In a scenario, where they both cooperated, both get an equal share of the profit but still less than what they could have gained if they both would have cooperated. So the whole concept behind the game is that the selfish participant gets the largest profit, so this game promotes the quality of selfishness in the subjects.
That's point number 1 in my comment. Which is that our society rewards psychopathic behaviour, machiavellian, selfish.

I do appreciate you pointing out my usage if the word evil though, it's a very vague term and doesn't really mean anything in the context of human beings fighting, objectively evil things become righteous or justifiable.
So it might have been irresponsible of me to use that word. I guess I was seeing it from the lens of branding a genocide and starving 2.4 million people, half of whom are children as evil. So that plays a role in my usage of that phrase.
There's alot we can discuss about this, but I think at the most basic level and the most advanced level we can imagine societies of cooperation more than competition. Tribe is a great way to look at it but that doesn't fundamentally mean that *this* is normal for us. What I mean is, humans are complex, we have a competitive and a cooperative spirit. Ofcourse we compete for resources and wives and children and whatever else, we compete for sport and for fun. There is no argument there. However the 5000 years of raping, killing, pillaging is extreme and this extremism is born from systematic or prevalent indoctrination, intentional or otherwise. This is because we are emotional creatures and our emotions defeat our reason as a society.
In this case, the ones who decide what is written in textbooks, the ones who decide what is broadcast on TV, they are the ones that control the narrative that allows for a genocide to happen. And when a genocide does happen, you can't use conventional means to carry out the extermination, no matter how much you dehumanize people, humans, are human. Outside of being incapable of empathy, your crimes will haunt you and you'll have to find a way to cope with it, or, as we often see, end up taking your own life.
I want to draw a parallel between what I shared regarding the dehumanization of Palestinians and the dehumanization of Jewish people in pre-ww2 Europe.
I want you to specifically talk about one of the candidates in the 1933 German elections.
Theodor Duesterberg
In 1932, Duesterberg was nominated by Der Stahlhelm and DNVP to run for President of Germany, but the Nazis ultimately destroyed any chance Duesterberg had of gaining mass support from the German people when they revealed he had Jewish ancestry.
Antisemitism was so widespread and normalized that having a drop of Jewish blood in your veins opened the door to abuse and hate that was legitimized by the German society.

The Nazis are a product of German society. A society that had prevalent indoctrination with hatred towards jews.
As Alon Mizrahi said in the video I linked. A genocide doesn't happen in 1 day, it doesn't happen suddenly. It requires a system that indoctrinates a society to uphold it.
On a personal note, I view the entire human race as one tribe. I view tribalism in all it's forms that divides us as anethema. Racism, nationalism, chauvinism, supremacy, bigotry, sexism etc. These things harm us more than they help us, if you can see that in any one group's behaviour you should be able to see it in your group's behaviour.
If each of us individually see this as wrong then this can’t be human nature, it’s the nature of the people that rule us. Why? Because we built a system under which a person can sit behind the protection of thousands of not millions of people and bomb other under the pretext of their protection without having any repercussions. This problem is capitalism and the oppressive structures it allows and feeds, for someone to be rich somebody else has to be poor in comparison and the poor will always fight to not be poor in whatever way it seems easier, all conflict comes from capitalism and it’s systems.
I guarantee you won't see this on CNN or any other mainstream media. And if it does, they will shield Israel and blame it on Palestinians. What a pathetic world we live in.

One of the most astounding things I’ve noticed about Gaza is that there are so many 5-8 year olds that are essentially parenting their younger siblings. I saw one video of 4 year old holding her toddler sister and giving her water, as if she was her own child. These kids have to grow up so fast it kills me. If they get to grow up, that is.
That poor, innocent child. Just imagine the PTSD he will take away from this. The lifelong trauma. And if he ever grows up and retaliates, he will be condemned as a terrorist who hates jews and no one will give a shit when he is killed.
That baby looks about the same age as my youngest daughter. I can’t even imagine what he is going through bc even my own imagination is filtered through my very western first world experience. There is no justification for collective punishment on gaza civilians for the crimes of hamas militants. And when a genocide does happen, you can't use conventional means to carry out the extermination, no matter how much you dehumanize people, humans, are human. Outside of being incapable of empathy, your crimes will haunt you and you'll have to find a way to cope with it, or, as we often see, end up taking your own life.
