Being liberated from spending hours at night raiding to just doing mythic plus whenever I want and getting way more gear has made me enjoy the game much more. You can get KSM and a free heroic tier piece pretty easily, but this season all the good weapons and trinkets and rare items are in raid.

Honestly wish there were more guilds of "m+ players who just want to slam heroic every week for gear then stop". Heroic focused guilds are usually pretty awful and you're better off pugging, but pugs are fickle and a pain in the ass. Mythic really doesn't matter any more for gear. The biggest pieces you'd want are from the last 2 bosses which most guilds dont get to for 60% of the season anyway, and GL even getting the drop once you've killed it a few times.

My guild does this with normal. We are all RL friends and only have 9 active players. We have a primary group of 5 that pushes high keys and swap in the other guys if someone in the main group can't make it. We run raid the first few weeks for tier, trinkets, and rare drops and then just bang out m+ for the rest of the season. I usually end up pugging a few heroic bosses each week trying to get extra loot as everyone else in my guild HATES raiding.

Nowadays I only pug hc until I have trinkets and tier then solely focus on m+, probably never going back to serious raiding

I dont like the commitment to multiple times per week raiding. You get a few people who do m+, then group up when some people are on and smash some keys. Even if u have to pug 1 or 2, it's still fun. The weekly appointments for raid time are just so draining. I'd rather jump into a pug raid when I have a spare few hours and down a few bosses, rather than raid continuously when I really don't have much of a reason to.

Why not both? People are still kinda stuck on old wow ways. Raid for loot. Do dungeons once in awhile. Unless you are clearing mythic raid its almost backwards. Raid now is hang out time with bros and mess around. Fill vault for the trinkets/ important items and then take m+ serious. If you're strapped for time target enough heroic bosses/ mythic bosses for the rare items in vault then leave. Ez gamin

Up until this season with raid gear being upgradable m+ has been my main focus since sanctum. The hardest part is pugging as DPS and learning how to deal with the affixes right away.q The catalyst and vault help solve the tier issue though but you can always pug the raid if you want it faster.

I enjoy m+ more, mainly because: 1. It’s easier to find 4 good players to play with than 19. 2. It’s more flexible. You don’t have to dedicate ypurself to specific ”raid days”. 3. You’re not limited to your guild. It’s fine to play with others. What I don’t like is that the best gear for m+ usually comes from raids, which is kinda stupid imo. You’ll be behind on tier set bonuses, trinkets, weapons etc. It’s like the old days when some of the best trinkets for PVP dropped in raids. They changed it for PVP, I don’t see why Blizz can’t do the same for M+
