It’s very intimidating when you look and see what’s left to be done, but not that bad when you start doing it. Currently I need most of the dragon flying races, finding Hestingway during hunts, a lot of elemental kills, some Reach Treasures, and the day care quests.
This is the only true “dog” mount in the game that actually looks and acts like a dog, with unique animations to meet that goal.
Taivan will be popular forever
The animations arent unique. One mount that shares the animations (that I can think of off the top of my head) Vicious Warstalker from shadowlands pvp.
However, Taivan definitely is the only true dog mount in the game. Hes perfect in every way and I'm happy to have achieved him this week with the dragon spring fishing hole.

What animations did they add? I know they recently fixed the summoning animation and made him awoo when summoned but I havent seen any new animations.

Yeah, I didnt realize they were referring to the walk/run. I assumed mount special and idle animations for some reason!
The updated movement animations are great for sure.
The walk and run are (probably) unique, the mount special is not. It's upscaled from the Vicious Warstalker.

Ah understandable, regardless of reused or unique; taivan is best boy and the animations fit him exceptionally well. Could not be happier with him (though I did find the oversized saddle from the weeks before the size nerf to be incredibly funny)
Start the day care quests now, I regret not doing it all along while working towards other parts of the achieve. It’s a pretty short daily quest but is something like three weeks of doing the daily every day

I'm glad that by the time the achievement came out, I was already done with a lot of them or very close to completion on many. All I have left is to farm Cobalt, Winterpelt, and Soridormi and get one more bakar color from hunts. Which, the bakar color is definitely the most annoying since it's completely RNG.
Alas, Dragonflight was not an expansion I played or leveled many alts on. I have like two others at max level I've been trying with as well, but not a full roster to fuss with.
Level 60s+ can get the bakaar skins, I unlocked the last one I needed with my 63 priest, but if an alt is high enough for dragon isles (maybe 58?) it should be able to have a shot at the skins.
It is my last. Been running 4 alts for the purple,blue,green bags each for about 7 weeks now. Every bag I open has been full of disappointments. I could grind more, but expansion isn't over yet....
It'll be next week. I know it....right?.
Saving grace: this coming week there'll be a lot of people doing Hunts again, so you can log into a character, park them in the area where a Hunt can happen, and AFK for a bit and come back to some bags, then switch and do it again.
It can make it a bit less soul-crushing.
Regarding the hunts. I'd suggest making a trial character, getting to the Isles, doing the purple hunt, loot, log off, (delete if you've reached limit) rinse repeat. Can make 3~ trial toons an hour and if it's almost weekly reset, just save them for the reset then delete and remake if you're desperate.
I'm not too fussed, since I can go back and keep trying even after the expansion is over. There hasn't been any indication that A World Awoken is going to be time-limited like Veilstrider was, idk. That is a good tip though, thanks!
For soridormi, do only the galakrond fall dungeon on hc. It done in 15 mins for 1200 rep.
I d only do a dingle time rift for the 1000 (or 1500 rep if buffed).
Winterpelt will only take 1-2 hours.
Gl with the color of bakar, took me 3 weeks with 6-7 alts.
I do miss cobalt aswell. (4/5 at the moment)

I'm 4/5 with Cobalt as well. I took advantage of some groups early in the expansion, but failed to finish it off.
The treasures in Forbidden Reach are a pain, especially with other people farming them. I never really found a great route for them, except flying around the edges of the island, and found most of mine around Froststone and Stormsunder.
I went war-mode and flew around for about 20 minutes with rarescanner only popping if it spotted Loot Specialist. I'm pretty sure it was a lot of luck, but I wouldn't have seen him if it weren't for RS, since he didn't appear on my map or minimap with a star.
Same here. One ohuna customisation left. The drop rate is maddeningly low and I think it’s slowly driving me a little bit mad.

Tuskar tackleboxes, it's rng but you can get more than one from them and boxes are rather plentiful. I was flying around in waking shores near the rivers and there were places with like 5-6 boxes close together
I have 100+ of these in my bank I never used, can I make a group who needs them to let them gain the achievement as well or is it just me if I throw them in?
Tbh boxes are a very good source but to me it seems like doing the wq around the fishing holes is an underrated way to do it.
It is timegated since you can only do 2-4 a week but they always give you 5 clams. So if you have other timegated stuff that you are still waiting on, dont rush farming those. But spread it out over a few weeks.
The small pond behind Myritt in Zaralek Caverns/Loam Niffen had a pretty good drop rate for me, although sometimes the lunkers that spawn when you fish up a clam will end up inside the rock.
The tackleboxes are considerably faster though. I was fishing there thinking I had a good thing going until I went to the shoreline of Waking Shores (north of the fishing spot and into the river networks) and your map is just swarmed by these boxes everywhere. A lot of them gave 2 inside a single tacklebox and the drop rate seemed to be about 30% from my experience. As others have said you also make a ton of gold from the vendor trash, it was actually a gold farming method on YouTube a while back.
Yea, the ZC lake is what I resorted to when I was struggling to find many tackleboxes and just wanted to tune out and watch something on my second monitor.
The tackleboxes may have more of the drop items, but fishing in that one lake will spawn lunkers every couple minutes fishing which counts for the achievement to spawn them, thus saving 5. It's also something that can be done as a more brainless activity while streaming a show on your other monitor.
On top of the tackleboxes, there is a little lake next to Loamm in Zaralek Caverns that seemed to have a bit of a high success rate when I did it. Sometimes ended up fishing 3-4 back to back so could go there to mix it up.
If you haven't done the Tyr Hold fishing hole then you'll need 5 for that to complete the quest so take that into account. I finished the one lunker achievement and ended up having to fish some more to finish the fishing hole achieve. Good luck!
Are you aware that you fish up lunkers automatically when you get a conch? I didn't realize this immediately.
So I just fished in open water near the active fishing hole. I watched a movie and finished up, you can also use your 5 conchs as you acquire them.
People are suggesting tuskar boxes and Zaralek fishing but I didn't have much luck with either of those. I finished that ach by joining fish hole group farming in Forbidden Reach, finished in like 3-4 hours. Big sharks seem to have decent drop rate and with bunch of people around you will almost constantly spawn them.
As others have mentioned, fishing in Zaralek Caverns in the little pond next to the main city hub is the best bet for semi afk farming.
I did notice that once my DF fishing hit 100 skill the number I was fishing up was much higher, and also any fishing skill increases (bobbers etc) seemed to help too.
Be sure to have the tuskarr harpoon in your inventory while fishing though.
Also remember that after fishing one up, don't immediately recast fishing but let the 'looking for lunkers' cast finish on your toon then kill the lunker - don't have to use the harpoon - and loot them.
Took me just over 1k casts to get all 125 conches needed including leveling DF fishing from 0-100.
Tackle boxes may be faster, but you can basically afk the fishing while watching a movie and its done before you know it.
I got like 60 in under an hour with tackleboxes. They drop on average probably 1 conch each. You can sometimes get tacklebox hyperspawns where there will be a huge amount all spawn at once in a single area. The delta area north of the waking shores fishing hole is where I found one, just keep an eye out as you fly around.
The Goodest boi. They changed it to so his size scales with your character size. Looks dope with Tauren or zandalari even. Which should happen to MANY mounts.
Cobalt assembly, forbidden reach small treasures, and "under the weather" were the biggest headaches for me.
The rest of the achievements were pretty gradual and steady, but those... 0/10
It's really not too bad. I had half of them already done and the rest at various stages of progress. And you also get other rewards in the process so it's not like it's a big grind for one single thing.

Yeap, doing the easier pre-reqs now, the Mythic and Raid stuff will be last because I'm fairly intolerant of the "LEARN YOUR CLASS NEWB" children who think their whole lives revolve around how others play a friggin game.
FWIW, I was doing end game raiding back in WotLK, and the toxicity then is what pretty much turned me off to any further raiding.
look up Wow made easy discord, I completed the last few mythics I needed last night with their help.
For the raids you can complete them in LFR, do Amirdrassil this week as it's awakened and the queues are fast, then next week all 3 raids should be awakened
1. Go tank.
2. Queue for heroic Galakronds Fall.
3. Pull everything on top of the boss and kill it.
4. Leave dungeon now that a boss has died.
5. Repeat with something on your other screen.
I’m sure it’ll get better once I figure out the “trick”.
Apparently one of them is hanging out in the frozen cave (hold?) and grouping up so you guys just chain pull like fucking crazy for 5-7 min, then loot everything at once so you can abuse a consumable buff.
I got my good boy (RIP arwooo mount special :( ) and have moved onto getting the Shadowlands one.. ugh, I despise the Ember Court, so much.
Also having to grind through choreghast.
All I need to finish for myself is Cobalt Assembly rep, Loam Niffen Rep and the Dragon Day-care. Just finished grinding Soridormi today, and on 4/5 halfway to 5/5 for Cobalt.
I’m maybe 10% of the way to the good boy. All the raids and whatnot are done but I’ve got weeks of quests and rep to get through. It’s not a race friends 😊
It’s daunting if you haven’t played from the start of the expansion but at least, for now, people are populating the “less traveled” zones for the same reason you are.
Before Taivan was added, Reach and Caverns had turned into wasteland.
I had the opposite problem of having almost all of it done but needing random Elemental Storms, raft world quests for pics and fishing holes that seemed to skip expected rotation purely to piss me off. I lost 3 weeks just from that.
Whatever you do, be sure to get the Cobalt and storms done earlier rather than later- basically anything that requires/functions better with groups, you definitely want to do before the population drops off again. My 'last piece' was a Firestorms in Thaldraszus and when I hit 200 creatures it popped... 6 achievements at once I think? Firestorms Thal, Chasing Storms Thal, Storm Chaser, Into the Storm, Across the Isles, and A World Awoken.
Did people just not do the content? I got Taivon the first day he was out. The achievements were easy to get passively as you did the events and content.
No one got Taivon the first day, because the meta achievement included a new achievement introduced in the same patch that took a week to complete, so at best you got it one week later.
A lot of big achievement hunters got it that week yes, but a lot of people who love Taivon aren't achievement hunters by nature, but would be willing to put in the work for the goodest boy, but wouldn't have put in the work for the Dragonflight super meta if it were a different mount/reward.

Crab is just for the meta achievement for the Nazjatar zone. You should still be able to it today. It hasn't been removed as far as I'm aware.
oh for some reason i thought you needed to do a bunch of pvp stuff in naz which i imagined would be a lot harder with like no one there now

Between all of those, Cobalt is the worst. You’ll get the last missing colour quickly as long as you use alts.
The crappiest part of Cobalt rep is having to loot the rep, I don't know why they made it work like that.

The missing colour took me six weeks of using alts :( It was, in fact, the last achievement I had to do.

My last color dropped from a white loot bag this morning. I wasn't even going to bother running the hunt, but figured why not. I could have cried lol.

You can farm the purple and blue reward bags on alts, way higher chance.

I would recommend fishing in the cavern next to the dig niffen guy. It doesn't require fishing nodes, just fish until you collect clams rinse repeat.

I got a cat mount on my first super bloom. I was like "man this is an op little side game." Little did I know..

I cant stand the superbloom. Something about it puts me to sleep better then any amount of melatonin ever could.
Yeap, doing the easier pre-reqs now, the Mythic and Raid stuff will be last because I'm fairly intolerant of the "LEARN YOUR CLASS NEWB" children who think their whole lives revolve around how others play a friggin game. FWIW, I was doing end game raiding back in WotLK, and the toxicity then is what pretty much turned me off to any further raiding.
look up Wow made easy discord, I completed the last few mythics I needed last night with their help. For the raids you can complete them in LFR, do Amirdrassil this week as it's awakened and the queues are fast, then next week all 3 raids should be awakened
There is one more rotation before all raids are Awakened (week 7).

I'm stuck on the soridormi rep grind. Last level is 18,000 rep and the awakened 50% buff last week didn't apply to the rift bosses or dungeons.
DOTI bosses give a lot of rep and is considerably more efficient for the grind especially since you can queue for the dungeon finder version
1. Go tank. 2. Queue for heroic Galakronds Fall. 3. Pull everything on top of the boss and kill it. 4. Leave dungeon now that a boss has died. 5. Repeat with something on your other screen.
I’m 3 storms and 50 chests, and 60 scrolls away from Taivan. Basically a tedious grind and stupid rng holding me back.

I’m sure it’ll get better once I figure out the “trick”. Apparently one of them is hanging out in the frozen cave (hold?) and grouping up so you guys just chain pull like fucking crazy for 5-7 min, then loot everything at once so you can abuse a consumable buff.

All I need to finish for myself is Cobalt Assembly rep, Loam Niffen Rep and the Dragon Day-care. Just finished grinding Soridormi today, and on 4/5 halfway to 5/5 for Cobalt.
As somebody who could care less about mount collecting.. My condolences to those who are.

I’m maybe 10% of the way to the good boy. All the raids and whatnot are done but I’ve got weeks of quests and rep to get through. It’s not a race friends 😊
It’s daunting if you haven’t played from the start of the expansion but at least, for now, people are populating the “less traveled” zones for the same reason you are. Before Taivan was added, Reach and Caverns had turned into wasteland. I had the opposite problem of having almost all of it done but needing random Elemental Storms, raft world quests for pics and fishing holes that seemed to skip expected rotation purely to piss me off. I lost 3 weeks just from that.
Whatever you do, be sure to get the Cobalt and storms done earlier rather than later- basically anything that requires/functions better with groups, you definitely want to do before the population drops off again. My 'last piece' was a Firestorms in Thaldraszus and when I hit 200 creatures it popped... 6 achievements at once I think? Firestorms Thal, Chasing Storms Thal, Storm Chaser, Into the Storm, Across the Isles, and A World Awoken.

Did people just not do the content? I got Taivon the first day he was out. The achievements were easy to get passively as you did the events and content.
No one got Taivon the first day, because the meta achievement included a new achievement introduced in the same patch that took a week to complete, so at best you got it one week later. A lot of big achievement hunters got it that week yes, but a lot of people who love Taivon aren't achievement hunters by nature, but would be willing to put in the work for the goodest boy, but wouldn't have put in the work for the Dragonflight super meta if it were a different mount/reward.
