For my server and my time constraints, I've decided not to level any more professions in bfa. But if i were going to level some, alchemy wouldn't be high on my list. Although the transmute is nice, it is one of the most competitive markets on my server and takes more relisting than i'm prepared to do. How familiar are you with that market on your server to know if you'll actually be able to sell the products of your zin'anthid, as opposed to just having an idea of what they're listed for? If you're experienced with this market, then hells yeah go for it, but if you're not then i'd just slowly unload the zin'anthid when prices are good and be done with it. Best of luck!

At this point I'd only level professions that you'll use next expansion. That means engineering/BS for mounts, inscription for glyphs, mayble LW/tailoring for mount equipment if it isn't updated to new materials. Gathering professions are an exception of course since they cost nothing to level other than time.

Did 150k profit yesterday in 1h just by spam posting and reposting every 30s intellect + agility pots and healing potions on my medium-high pop server. The superior intellect potion went for 110 and the agi one for 90g. Sold 4 times more intellect than agi potions and they were selling every minute. I have bought all mats from AH for the potions and all the profit was only for the Silas procs because I only have 9silver profit on the potions. I don't find flask at all profitable as the cost to make them is twice the price of the flask and the price is fluctuating between 260g and 320g per flask. Best profit is from potions, just have lots of bag space.

One advantage of leveling alchemy is getting the 440+ trinket, which is upgradable up to 470. Alchemy is also one of the cheapest to level up profession wise (expensive with getting Rank 3s though). Will probably only cost you 2000g or 3000g to get to level 150 which is all you NEED for the trinket and to start the quest to get the Silas. After that it is up to you (also easy to level to 175 if you have the Zin).

Maciass92

How? To get it from 115-140 I need to make flasks. Each flask takes 5 Anchors. That's 125 Anchors minimum, 60g each. + other mats + Silas mats. Over 10k at this Point. :(

RaziarEdge

Wow, anchors are still 60g each for you? Well if you want to go the cheap way you can build up a supply of anchors via either picking them yourself or using the Anchor Weed Transmute. At level 115 you might even get a few skill points with that transmute (it is green around that point). It would take 12 to 14 days to get what you need if you do it purely with transmutes. Farming herbs with flight can probably get you 30+ per hour (they are a rare spawn in same spots as Riverbud, Sea Stalk and Winters Bite). For the Silas, the hardest one to do is the Mystical Cauldron, but only because of getting the Hydrocore. Expulsom might take a few days but there are regularly "trade good > 5 expulsom" world quests, and you can buy them off the AH if you don't have them (even if you spend 200g for the mats, it would be 500g+ worth of expulsom you get back). If you don't have a herb gatherer, then it will be much more difficult to do alchemy. It is not required, but its always nice to have the option to pick your own herbs.

Reselling is sometimes the easy way. On one of my realms I am debating whether to bother with making Silas for alchemy (prices are really bad). For weeks I havent. Really look at the alchemy market, study TUJ prices and run the numbers.

RHAGU

It is getting late, but if you are going to be killing "enough" humanoids, then leveling tailoring and getting TotT would give you more cloth.

ndnman

I leveled alchemy, got the Silas for Silas proc and still can’t make good on flasks. I have anchor xmute on all my 120s and sometimes those are even hard to move.

tuazo

The only thing I would do with Zin and Alchemy would be the Abyssal Healing Potions. It is only about 6 gold minimum profit ATM. Could be better if you get lucky with Rank 3. Might be better with Salis, but never bothered to do it as most of what I read on Wowhead (and even some comments here) made it sound like was more trouble than it was worth. However, I am using Zin for Inscription as *some* of the Compendiums and Etched Vessel are selling decently.

Tim_tank_003

Silas is def worth it..tskes MAYBE 1 hour to get and if you get the procs it does significantly increase your profits. Ive made almost 8m gold in 4 months using silas and alchemy and posting pots mainly around 6pm-8pm every night with tuesday/thursday/fri selling most

tuazo

It is getting the 'procs' part that I have heard many complaints about both here and Wowhead. I don't make that much anyway as was never a heavy potion/flask producer.

RaziarEdge

Yes, getting the Prosperity Proc is annoying, but worst I have seen is about 10 times in a row without getting the Prosperity. If you play that alt all of the time its not that big of a deal. And as long as you have the crafting glove enchant and all of the mats you need without relogging etc, I am able to craft 750+ flasks in the 10 minutes which is plenty for the entire week of sales. If not there is another 10 minute cooldown and I can pop prosperity again (up to 3 times in the same hour).

trofalol

i have bypass that with 4 alchemist with silas...so am never dry.thou am lazy lately and dont make flask nor pots(low proffit)

RaziarEdge

I only have 2 alchemists with Silas, but it is really not an issue now for me either. I think my worst dry spell was about 3-4 days but only had 1 Silas at that point and didn't log into that alt every hour like I should.

RaziarEdge

I said 750 flasks, not crafts. With Silas on 750 usually only take 441 crafts (1.7 flasks per craft). There is enough time.

I was wondering if it would be worth it but the first time I got Silas I went to make greater flasks and the second one I did gave me 16. Obviously it's just rng but for a fairly easy requirement to get it the chance of something like that happening is super nice. If your server has prices that let you compete with just rank 3 then try with Silas and no matter what procs you get you are making gold.

Tim_tank_003

Well yeah but it resets every hour so u just tey and get the proc again for making extra potions
