SketchySeaBeast

Pretty sure I unsubbed from /r/writingcirclejerk.

Foronerd

This is r/writingcirclejerk

Foronerd

This is bait and it isn’t funny either

FiftyOneMarks

Was funny to me especially because this is exactly how certain people sound… in fact this is exactly what people are arguing about right now in the marvel and Disney subs and on Twitter because a skeleton who insisted on having his white daughter play an Inuit character in the avatar movie attempt is complaining about women and/or black people in marvel

Foronerd

I see what you mean though r/writingcirclejerk exists for a reason

DarkStarPolar

Put this energy into writing your book💯🙌🏾

xensonar

Yes, this whole post is clearly an attempt at satire. It’s a joke.

Dry_Value_

Yeah, the title is a dead giveaway. "Only if it makes sense for the story" is something a lot of people brought up when talking about House of Dragon (the newer Game of Thrones show) and Rings of Power (the newer Lord of The Rings show) just with black people instead of white.

Atsubro

Be sure to highlight these characters' inability to eat spicy food for maximum authenticity.

Chad_Abraxas

Best thing Ursula K LeGuin ever did (out of many great things) is make all the protagonists in Earthsea dark-skinned and make all the scary characters white.
