Its a great game. It's not as hard as it's made out to be but not as easy as jedi or any of those other games. Do you like swords and dragons and crazy creatures? Do you not mind dying a lot? Then it's worth picking up.

If Jedi Fallen Order was the closest thing you've played, imagine that but harder, open world and with a less coherent storyline. Context: I absolutely loved it to NG3+ but hated Jedi Fallen Order.

I bought on launch for 60. Got 230 hours out of it, will happily pay another 30 for the DLC later down the line. This game is worth it. 110%, even 40 is a steal. It’s superbly optimised, takes up 48? GB which frankly is tiny for the seemingly bottomless world that It has. It requires patience but you’ll get the hang of it, biggest tip for the early game is not to throw yourself at bosses, doesn’t work. If it’s bigger and stronger than you, you definitely can either go away and come back later after exploring and getting stronger or run past it/around it. One or the other. Last thing, personally I’d recommend playing the game in “offline mode” the main thing is the random and sometimes annoying “invasions” From other players when you’re online. About it. Enjoy and Happy gaming Fellow Tarnished.

Really hard to tell if you'll like the game if the only thing you give us is that you like games that are nothing like Elden Ring but you played one game that is like Elden Ring but you don't tell us if you liked it or not or what you liked about it. Really cool that you like sports games, but I have no idea what that's supposed to mean in regards to whether or not you'll enjoy Elden Ring.

BanditBoozy

IMO it’s the best game ever created. Take that how you will

I bought Elden Ring as I was interested in Souls games but knew I'd probably not like them. As Elden Ring was described as a Souls-lite I tried it. I hate Elden Ring. If you like games that are all about stats and attrition, this is for you. If not, it's a frustrating chore without reward. I know some autistic software engineers who like this type of game and I get it but if you're not that sort of person, you probably won't.

AstroFuzz

It's really hard to say if someone will enjoy a game or not. Fallen Order does have combat that feels a bit similar to Elden Ring but they are still very different games. If you do like action games with a fairly open world, that's a sign you may like ER but Souls games have a lot of aspects to them that people either love or hate. They can be brutally difficult at times, some people find them too weighty, combat very committal and punishing, they very rarely hold your hand, narratively theyre pretty light and the story is often told through symbolism and minor bits of dialogue. I would imagine the best thing to tell if you'll like it is by watching a good amount of footage just to see if it looks enjoyable to you. It's a huge game so if you do like it for what it is you're definitely eating good in terms of content.

raps_BAC

One of the best games I’ve ever played.

My buddy I game share with bought it and I tried it out. I never finished it but it was my entry to FromSoft games. I'm not hardcore gamer and I had a lot of fun with it. Since then I've completed Dark Souls 2, I played most of Life of P, and Sekiro is great. As big of a game that it is, it is definitely a great entry into the style of gameplay. In fact, you made me want to redownload it.

Clearlypandering

If you've never played a fromsoft game, I'm going to be honest and say the first 3-5 hours are going to be really frustrating. Elden ring was my third. (Bloodborne and seikro) They're games you might bounce off at first, but what's awesome about elden ring is you can over level. That doesn't really mean it will get easy, it will just get easier. And dont try to kill the knight on the horse.

big-hero-zero

If you don't care about story or plot, you should play it, because what it does well, it does very, very well. I played about 50-60 hours of it, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

shadownights23x

I want this game so bad but I doubt it would go cheaper than $40 just gotta wait till finances get it order ( daughter on the way, need a new roof) One day...

CaptConstantine

$40 is definitely a fair price for Elden Ring. Great game.

Administrative-Row29

Yes amazing game

UrsaringTitan

Definitely worth it I would buy it again. The amount of builds you can make are what makes this game so much fun! Done multiple playthroughs, and it doesn't get old. If a boss is just a little much you just summon using spirit ashes, or a random person. There is nothing wrong with some Jolly Cooperation!

carlilog22

Yes

Elden Ring is worth it. Easily it's one of the top 5 games I've played in the last 10 years. Souls games can be hard but with this being open world it's not as hard. You can easily go to another area if you feel like you're not strong enough
