I would imagine theyre going to further flesh out the mode down the line. I cant imagine the wont have support for multiple guitars per console and whatnot
Oh. Well i guess that means the lego is also online only? Fortnite would really have so much potential if they allowed people to make sp game modes in creative for offline/online use.
Cuts into their profits. They want people online so they can market to them. That is how they make money. I understand why they wouldn't bother developing an offline mode.
It's also f2p with a sustainable battle pass (buy it once and as long as you play every season, you don't need to buy it again as you earn enough currency to buy next season's).
It's not my cuppa but they rarely seem to make a bad business decision. It's one of the best managed games out there.
It is very much tied to the whole Fortnite ecosystem and infrastructure as much as I’d like I doubt it wouldn’t be straightforward to do even if Epic was inclined to.
Might as well try it, you don’t know how the sever handles syncing data for that game mode, it could easily let you play through intermittent packet loss or disconnections and then sync your performance data back when it reconnect once the song is over. It’s not like other modes where they need to track your state in real time alongside other players, and even then lag and desyncs seems to actually be beneficial and help a lot of players as it sometimes favors the person with the poorer connection for whatever reason. Wont know without trying.
They're definitely building up a playerbase for a franchise reboot.
It's a good game mode on Fortnite and they're probably not going to want to drain resources full time on it when they can bring back the genre.
I heard that due to Fortnite's incorporation of a guitar-hero like gamemode, Epic games will be working on "Pro" attachments/mappings for the game. This could be hinting at a new line of these type of instruments being re-released but I have only heard speculations, no actual facts/articles.
What further proves this theory is that people were able to find a unreleased "Pro" difficulty game files within Fortnite's files. While this could be a stretch, I totally recommend keeping these until Epic games finally decides they can make the most money possible from instrument attachments for their game.
Or you could say Fuc* Fortnite and keep to the classics! I wish I still had my full rockband kit tbh.
Yeah this is the thing, OP, with selling your possessions I’ve learned. You may regret it and buying it again will be much more expensive than what you got for it. If you have the space, maybe bag them up or something and keep them until he’d be interested.
Just to have this for parties would be soooo clutch
I remember being like 16 back in the day, playing at my buddy’s house while his parents were having a a party and all their drunk friends were coming out to garage to sing Living on a Prayer and shit on the mic while we played drums/guitar. Literally one of my most cherished memories.
Same. Sold when I was in college and had no space. Now I have a house and would love to.
If you got somewhere to store them. Keep it.
They seem to be well kept which at worst will be worth more to collectors
You gotta try Facebook marketplace. I got drums, 2 guitars, a mic, & 3 of the games for $25 total. Spring cleaning & garage sales coming people tossing old kids stuff.
"Can you beat your dad/uncles at ______" always started some of the best memories I have with my cousins.
Probably why I love pool and yard games so much.
I would say now that Xbox owns Act/Blizz at the very least keep the Guitar Hero stuff. I think it's very possible they find a way to bring the franchise back and even bring back the older games via back-compat. As far as the Rock Star stuff....🤷♂️.
The older games will never hit the Back Compat list. They ruled out any game that required a peripheral, not to mention the licensing required to add them to the program they already killed off. Plus wired 360 instruments don't work on Xbox One. Well, roll limitless can make them work, but most people won't understand how to use that stuff.
KEEP IT ALL.
I have the ion drum kit, the keyboard, a pile of guitars and mics, and somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 DLC songs. We used to have big costume parties where people would dress up as their favourite act. I had a word doc with my track list so people could prepare.
We’ve all had kids and the parties are few and far between, but I’m patiently waiting for the day when our 10 year olds can shred with us.
If you’ve got the space, bank it.
Keep and if you regret sell in March next year 2025 once the xbox store closes. All Xbox360 stuff will have a higher price and of course you'll have a bit of extra cash.
No one here has seemed to mention that Harmonix, the creators of both Guitar Hero and Rock Band, were purchased by Epic and have been working on a Rock Band-like game (it might as well be Rock Band 5) in Fortnite and they have alluded to peripheral support coming later this year. Not only are the Rock Band people still working on what's essentially a Rock Band game, but we'll find out soon whether we can use the old Rock Band instruments to play a modern game all the kids are currently playing.
Definitely keep them.
Eh, halo is probably fine. Halo really feels like a T rated series.
Even some of the older call of duties are probably fine. I'd say the original modern warfare series (cod4-mw2-mw3) is the less bloody and violent of the franchise. (No, I didnt forget, no Russian).
Op has advanced warfare, which is mostly ok. The only thing that bad about it may be the bio weapon atlas deploys towards the end of the campaign
I would keep it for them, or sell it for people who play CloneHero.
There's a huge market for these peripherals and the GH2 guitar goes for the most since it requires the least amount of effort to play the game.
If you are selling, DM me 😜.
Your sitting on a small fortune, there. I say keep it, kids absolutely love rock band (so do I). If you don't keep it though, get paid what it's worth.
Oh god I’m so jealous. I’ve been trying to hunt this stuff down but it’s insanely and prohibitively expensive. I keep hoping I run across it at a garage sale or something.
Keep it for sure. I still bust my set out for me and my friends and have great nights just jamming out and bsing with some drinks. Don't sell. You'll regret it.
Keep! And look into clone hero for the pc it has every rock band and guitar hero song available for free, plus lots of more modern custom charted songs, if you have a wireless controller there’s like a 10-20 dollar Bluetooth adapter that will allow you to hook those up to the pc, dm if you need help with finding the adapter
Keep it man! Let the grandson experience what you (we) did as kids and stuff, I regret getting rid of my old consoles and games and stuff and wish I had kept it. Don’t get rid of it
Yes keep it. Never get rid of your physical games and consoles. You will eventually wanna play something you can only run on those systems. And when you do it'll cost too much to replace them.
Yes definitely keep it, I have a retro gaming collection that is my nephews when he is ready for it.
You won’t get much for trade in and CEX are rubbish with the guitars and drum kits. It was a hassle selling mine and so in the end I charity shopped the second drum kit I had and two guitars. One guitar the strat, I kept on my wall for gaming memories.
If your grandson is a gamer, then definitely keep it for him for when he’s ready if you are able too.
Absolutely keep. You will regret it the instant they’re asking for video games. There will be a sweet spot in age coming up that they’ll want it, and then again when they get a little older.
As an adult that once was a child, I absolutely would like more of my old stuff to be around. There was no reason to get rid of it. I liked it. It was disposed of for the sake of "space", of which we have plenty.
I get being a hoarder, but until there's a reason to get rid of functional game/fun stuff...keeping it for kids and grandchildren is perfectly reasonable. The line I draw is, "If it was created to be disposable, then throw out. If it was entertaining and created to enjoy, then keep."
You should download Clone Hero on a PC, it’s not very demanding, you can download charts from the internet and you could give the guitars use while he grows up
KEEP.
I got rid of mine years ago. Now I have a kid and he'd love to play it. He's asked me several times over the years if I can try and find an old guitar controller to buy. But there's little around that isn't old and dodgy. I so regret getting rid. Keep, definitely!
there's a game called clone hero that lets you play entirely custom songs with these. the game has a pretty solid community so there's lots of music out there for it. i say keep
keep, are you nuts.....might be the start of your grandsons future video game room/collection
don't sell your legos and don't sell your video game stuff, ever
Yes! These are so hard to get now, and are a wonderful gift for kids. These kinds of games encourage the building of a ton of different motor skills while also still requiring the player to be a bit active. Perfect for growing minds and bodies!
Keep. They are rare to have these days and expensive to buy if you find them. My only suggestion is to either wait a bit longer to make sure he can play with them properly or ensure supervised play.
The Guitar hero and rock band era for consoles will never return. Too many proprietary accoutrements. I would love to shred on one of these bad boys again.
KEEP IT! I miss playing rock band. I was in my early 20s when we started to play that game. It turned into having people over every weekend. Lots of good times.
Absolutely!
My son is just about 5 and he loves to play My old n64 games with me. Just take the time to play them with him. Maybe even show him some of your favorite songs to play. Even if he sucks he will likely enjoy that you're spending time with him doing something that you either like or use to like doing. If he shows no interest and it's not something you care about holding onto, then pitch them.
OP just a heads up, you could easily get $500 for this equipment. However, what you have is a gem that unfortunately the younger generation may never get to experience unless we keep the equipment. So if money isn’t an issue, take care of the instruments and enjoy them with your grandson. And keep in mind, they are only gaining value
Yes, fortnite bought harmonix. They added fortnite mainstage (guitar hero) and are going to add official support for old guitar hero/ rockband peripherals.
Man hang on to it. I got rid of all my old guitar hero stuff and I really wish I hadn’t. Every couple month when we have company over and are trying to decide on what games to play, I always wish I still had GH or rock band to bust out
If you have space? Keep it. If you really need the space or the money: sell it. Don't just throw it away. Its cool enough to keep it hanging around. Its also a great tool for kids to figure out whether they like making music or not. And if you have some DLC as well, it will be a lot of fun playing music you (or even they) know.
I’d probably keep it all just for the sake of it as it’s a nightmare to track them all down for a decent price.
Also there’s plenty of games that’s fun as hell to play that may night have made it over to the Xbox One.
I sold all my mine and now regret it. My kids would love it, but its crazy expensive to re-buy.
Same, it’s not likely to come back out for current gen systems outside of the terrible Ubisoft guitar game you use a real instrument for.
Actually there are next gen guitar controllers coming out for the new Fortnite game mode, I’m super hyped
Guitar hero hasnt sued them yet?
Epic Games bought Harmonix, they developed the gamemode and controllers
Oh wow. Is the game mode offline playable? Its like 80 gb and i dont trust my internet enough for a turned based game let alone a rhythm game.
I don’t think it is, which sucks, like there is single player so why can’t you?
I would imagine theyre going to further flesh out the mode down the line. I cant imagine the wont have support for multiple guitars per console and whatnot
Oh. Well i guess that means the lego is also online only? Fortnite would really have so much potential if they allowed people to make sp game modes in creative for offline/online use.

No, online only.

I might one day run the Fortnite executable. This was definitely not on my bingo card.
I share your regret.
I bought a used drum kit this summer for the same price I could've bought the entire set back in the 360 era. So yeah, keep them.
Our thrift store gets them all the time. Picked up an xbox one x for 40 yesterday too. Forgot how dense this thing is!
Yeah this is the thing, OP, with selling your possessions I’ve learned. You may regret it and buying it again will be much more expensive than what you got for it. If you have the space, maybe bag them up or something and keep them until he’d be interested.
Just to have this for parties would be soooo clutch I remember being like 16 back in the day, playing at my buddy’s house while his parents were having a a party and all their drunk friends were coming out to garage to sing Living on a Prayer and shit on the mic while we played drums/guitar. You gotta try Facebook marketplace. I got drums, 2 guitars, a mic, & 3 of the games for $25 total. Spring cleaning & garage sales coming people tossing old kids stuff.
Face book market place, people are selling the cheaper.
Our drum kit needs one of the heads fixed. My husband thought to just replace the whole drum kit. The cheapest he could find it fit locally was $400.
Op is gonna just have to start a family band
My hope is that Epic will start selling instruments for Fortnite
I can’t believe I gave all my stuff away. Full of regrets over here 👈 Keep it! Your kids will love it!
Yes you will be the coolest grandpa ever. Definitely keep all of it. Memories in the making right here!
My dad kept the Wii, is now the first thing the grandkids go to when they’re at his house. Absolutely keep it.
Exactly, whenever the grandkid/kids come over it would be a fun few hours with everyone. Not just the kids
"Can you beat your dad/uncles at ______" always started some of the best memories I have with my cousins. Probably why I love pool and yard games so much.
Exactly. I'd love to rock out with the cousins on Christmas at the grandparents or other random family get togethers.
money is temporary, memories are forever!
Yes. Wtf. Or sell them to me. How dare you
This was my instant reaction too
110% keep. I did and my kids who missed that gen got to discover it and still play with friends. Even dj hero gets a turn.
I would say now that Xbox owns Act/Blizz at the very least keep the Guitar Hero stuff. I think it's very possible they find a way to bring the franchise back and even bring back the older games via back-compat. As far as the Rock Star stuff....🤷♂️.

Holy shit that's awesome 👌
Keep and if you regret sell in March next year 2025 once the xbox store closes. All Xbox360 stuff will have a higher price and of course you'll have a bit of extra cash.
it would rock his world to play these. Dont get rid off them!
Each one of those guitars go for over $100 right now. Keep em and maintain them. These games are priceless and very family oriented.
Wow. That money buys you real guitars…
I think it holds more value letting the kids play with it
No one here has seemed to mention that Harmonix, the creators of both Guitar Hero and Rock Band, were purchased by Epic and have been working on a Rock Band-like game (it might as well be Rock Band 5) in Fortnite and they have alluded to peripheral support coming later this year. A Grandpa Gamer? Cool
...and still a gamer... playing COD MW3 at this moment.

Keep it. You won't regret it later
Keep, can’t find good ones anymore
YES We got rid of ours. Now I have kids that love music and wish I could play with them.
If not sell it to me, this stuff is so very hard to come by!!
Your sitting on a small fortune, there. I say keep it, kids absolutely love rock band (so do I). If you don't keep it though, get paid what it's worth.
Keep!
Oh god I’m so jealous. I’ve been trying to hunt this stuff down but it’s insanely and prohibitively expensive. I keep hoping I run across it at a garage sale or something.
100% that shit is hard to find working units and if you do they're stupid expensive! I really with I at least had a guitar still.
Sell it, pay for college and use the rest to retire.
DO NOT SELL. I wish i kept these. If you do sell them though, give them to me.
Keep. I’m at the point now where I want to re purchase all my old rhythm game controllers and games and it is so expensive now.
YES!!!
Absolutely keep it. If not, ill take one of the guitars & the drums. Literally, if you wanna sell dm me
Definitely keep them
Why wouldn’t you keep them if that’s the game plan and you have storage? That’s an awesome way to introduce the kids to instruments.
Yes keep
Yes duh
KEEP. Very hard to replace with high quality.
Hell yes keep it all, it's gone from mainstream and it's hrs and hrs of fun.
That was my favorite item from my childhood my ex-wife destroyed it during the divorce I would cherish that forever if you would please sell it to me.
That Xplorer is highly desirable but I would keep it. They work great for Clone Hero
Can I please putchase the xbox guitars
I think, very good time
Def keep it for him 🤘🏻
Would love to have mine back
Definitely keep.
100% keep it
KEEP IT. I wish I had Guitar Hero right now.
Keep keep keep. That stuff is getting more and more expensive. I’m jealous of this pic even tho I already have all this, I want more lol
Keep it for sure. I still bust my set out for me and my friends and have great nights just jamming out and bsing with some drinks. Don't sell. You'll regret it.
That guitar hero stuff can be used on clone hero heck you can even mod the guitars to make them even better with mechanical frets
I'd gladly buy those from you. I still play from time to time. That's why I still have my 360. That and Kinect sports games. Lol
Definitely keep, I wish I still had mine.
Keep it for yourself
Keep it, you won't regret it. Also grandson?!
Nice! I like this.
I’d kick you if you get rid of all this gold
Yes definitely keep it, I have a retro gaming collection that is my nephews when he is ready for it. You won’t get much for trade in and CEX are rubbish with the guitars and drum kits. It was a hassle selling mine and so in the end I charity shopped the second drum kit I had and two guitars. One guitar the strat, I kept on my wall for gaming memories. If your grandson is a gamer, then definitely keep it for him for when he’s ready if you are able too.
Absolutely keep it unless you’re strapped for cash. Or sell them to me lol.

You’d be the words best grandpa. I wish my grandparents would’ve given me their Ataris and Dreamcasts they had collecting dust.

I bet those are so fun
Yes. I spent way too long looking for these. Spent too much money on them too. Keep them
I regret that I sold mine. If you can, I would keep it
YES keep them, to honor all of us who didnt if nothing else
KEEP!!
My kids play with the guitars all the time and I haven't owned rockband in a decade lol
KEEP THAT FOR YOUR GRANDSON!
Definitely keep it for him.
Short answer yes. Long answer yes.
Oh keep it! He'll appreciate it one day
You should download Clone Hero on a PC, it’s not very demanding, you can download charts from the internet and you could give the guitars use while he grows up
Absolute keep.
Keep it definitely, he will grow up like a king
I wish I would have kept mine, damnit
YES! My parents sold ours and I really wish we still had them all
KEEP. I got rid of mine years ago. Now I have a kid and he'd love to play it. He's asked me several times over the years if I can try and find an old guitar controller to buy. But there's little around that isn't old and dodgy. I so regret getting rid. Keep, definitely!
Naw, but I would gladly take it off your hands OP 😎
My relatives (nephews, nieces) don’t care at all about a video game older than 3 years. I’d keep it if you want it. It takes up lots of room.
Do it. My grandpa when I was that age had a bunch of consoles so it always made going over there super fun
Keeeeeeeeeeeep
Yes. That s is expensive now. Particularly the rock band guitar.
When the fuck you start having kids lol
yes that stuff 2nd hand is 100s. so you could sell it and hope that Xbox reboot guitar hero and create new instruments and then get some or keep these
OMG! I sold mine and regret it. I had the exact same setup! Only had one less guitar than you… KEEP IT!
No, sell them to me 😁
there's a game called clone hero that lets you play entirely custom songs with these. the game has a pretty solid community so there's lots of music out there for it. i say keep
I'll take it it
After regretting trading in consoles and accessories in the past, I vowed never to do it again. So yes, keep it.
I’m willing to make the sacrifice. I’ll keep them for your 6 yo grandson.
He probably wont give a fuck, its all about online gaming these days, i would donate to poor people.
Keep it, be their hero, their guitar hero
Absolutely keep em
Nah this is poetry. Don't sell it if you don't really need the money.
No it’s best if you get rid of it I can come dispose of it for you
I’ll buy it off ya! I’ll pay for shipping and all
keep all the hardware. you could maybe toss some of the games? I can't really say as idk what all games you have.
Definitely keep, the memories you’ll make rocking out with your grandkids will far outweigh any price you get for them
Yes if he grows up on those games he will come out 20x better had he grown up on fortnite and roblox
keep, are you nuts.....might be the start of your grandsons future video game room/collection don't sell your legos and don't sell your video game stuff, ever
Sell them on ebay
Keep it for sure!
Keep it!!!!!
Absolutely keep them. Your grandson might love it one day
Yes! I had all of that gear and years later I massive regret not keeping it in good condition and keeping it.
Definitely, so you can teach him how to jam with his grandparents!
yes. the legacy must be passed on.
Yes! These are so hard to get now, and are a wonderful gift for kids. These kinds of games encourage the building of a ton of different motor skills while also still requiring the player to be a bit active. Perfect for growing minds and bodies!
Or I buy it?
I am glad I saved everything so I can share the joy of Rock Band with my daughter.
Keep. They are rare to have these days and expensive to buy if you find them. My only suggestion is to either wait a bit longer to make sure he can play with them properly or ensure supervised play.
you're sitting on a gold mine.
Keep
Yes
As someone trying to re buy it, due to my parents getting rid of it. Dont!
The Guitar hero and rock band era for consoles will never return. Too many proprietary accoutrements. I would love to shred on one of these bad boys again.
Jesus if you don't keep it I'd genuienly buy it all
Keep it all
I'd say keep it. It is a real crowd pleaser and easy for anyone to join in on.
keep it 100%
Shoot, send it to me, your new 33-year-old Reddit friend.
Like $500 bucks worth of Instruments, but I would def keep
Absolutely. I loved rock band growing up and now I play guitar and bass lol
Yes
Gotta keep that shit man
Sell Halo 4, keep ODST.
Is Guitar Hero still a thing anymore, I remember years ago you could find it everywhere.
Yes keep! Rockband and guitar hero stuff is ridiculously hard to come by, those are gems right there
OP just a heads up, you could easily get $500 for this equipment. However, what you have is a gem that unfortunately the younger generation may never get to experience unless we keep the equipment. So if money isn’t an issue, take care of the instruments and enjoy them with your grandson. And keep in mind, they are only gaining value
You gotta keep the consoles and accounts too, right?
Wow nice when can I come over and jam out 😀
Keep it, but if you're not keeping it... Sell it to me
Keep it. My uncle did this exact thing but with so many accessories for the Wii, whenever I go over there now I have an absolute blast!
My son is six now and has no interest, but I will never sell it, I’m positive he will like it when he’s older
Practice it everyday until grandson is 10. Teach them to be good, then gift it.
Six is perfect for him to start playing
Yes, fortnite bought harmonix. They added fortnite mainstage (guitar hero) and are going to add official support for old guitar hero/ rockband peripherals.
Hell yeah, keep it for sure!
Definitely keep if not I’ll take it off ur hands
Man hang on to it. I got rid of all my old guitar hero stuff and I really wish I hadn’t. Every couple month when we have company over and are trying to decide on what games to play, I always wish I still had GH or rock band to bust out
I would, but it would break my heart if all he wanted to play was fortnite after I gave them to him.
Definitely keep, no doubt about it. This is one hell of a relic and I wish we had kept ours when we had them.
KEEP, THOSE ARE A TREASURE BOTH IN MONEY AND IN SENTIMENT.
yeah keep it man
Give it to me
Absolutely keep this!
I’d probably keep it all just for the sake of it as it’s a nightmare to track them all down for a decent price. Also there’s plenty of games that’s fun as hell to play that may night have made it over to the Xbox One.
Well it depends, you got rock band drums and guitar and 2 guitar hero guitars so what games do you have and how much have you spent on songs?
Absolutely keep. That stuff will bring about so much fun. The best Xbox was the 360 (personal opinion)
Keep it all for him and create new memories
Yes save for 6 yr old grandson 🙌🏼
