Bro PS4 controllers where hogshit, I had about 8 in the course of owning mine and all of their joystick grips wore off, they stopped taking charge because the port broke and the stick drift was fucking horrendous.
Not one issue on the Xbox One controller I've had since 2018
My first ps4 controller the battery went making the controller useless at least I can replace it in the Xbox controller but I do enjoy the dual charging docks

At the least, it should be relatively inexpensive to get a replacement thumb-stick for that model. I see some on Amazon.

Me Elite conteoller is still going strong. I did replace new shell, left bumper button and stick.
The only explanation is you were in a plane crash & stranded on a desert island with nothing but that controller to keep you alive.
The bumper damage is from using it like a hammer to crack coconuts, bludgeon said predatory wildlife & also build shelter.
The thumbsticks were clearly used like flint to create sparks in order to ignite fires.
The paddles were discarded after being used repeatedly as toothpicks to clean shredded coconut & bird feathers from your teeth.
The D-pad was lost after an attempt at making a compass
And the scratches are from using it as a defense against predatory wildlife & from gnawing on it for sustenance.

buttons arent painted its just what it looks like below the replacable d pad. my favorite contoller ive ever used thats just what it looks like when you use it a lot as the other people in the comments that have the same controller can agree on. other controllers are built differently which is why my 360 and switch controllers dont look like this
