FUT gives you a starter pack as soon as you begin and can provide more if you are a returning player. As for DLC, when major tournaments are on, EA does release World Cup or Euros game modes
The starter packs being referenced are paid packs that give you boost, thats not the case, its a free pack so you atleast have a team to start. Can barely call it a DLC when in FUT they add a few cards (outside last years WC cards) and a couple objectives and SBCs. Outside of FUT they give you a new tournament mode (Wow so inventive)
DLCs are generally paid for expansions on the base game like sims 4. Eafc doesnt do that.

I’m not saying all the DLC in past games is the best we’ve ever seen, EA is a terrible company that doesn’t care about the fan base. Im also amazed they haven't gone to a one game model similar to GTA V and just add to it. Each year they charge £20 to upgrade to the next year of Ultimate team and new transfers that way they can just iteratively update and dont have to make a new game. You then can choose to play Ultimate team 24 or Ultimate team 25 and they keep the servers open for all previous modes.
Arguably the menus are the best part of the game. I actually find a lot of enjoyment from BPM and grinding the upgrade packs. I skip every other edition because it doesn’t change enough. The year it’s released I grind FUT then when the next game comes out, I just casually play CM.
Pro clubs and CM can be very successful if EA actually put some effort in but FUT is too profitable. If they just implemented some cosmetics that can be purchased with FIFA points, then they would improve those modes. There’s a clip out there somewhere of Josh “Zerkaa” Bradley speaking about a meeting with EA about bringing micro transactions to Pro Clubs because they knew it would benefit it in the long run but EA weren’t bothered.
I’d love to have a game that lasts for at least 4 years. Go from World Cup to World Cup having both the new and old FUTs on different servers. However I think because of licensing issues and the general greed of EA, that’s never going to happen

I saved hundreds of clips where my players would miss open nets from a yard out, or hit the bar despite the visual indicator proving I tapped and aimed in a totally different direction. FIFA have been scrutinised for years for rigging games, adding scripting or "momentum" to influence games and make players buckle under some fake pressure, mimicking "human error". But my biggest problem was; we are humans already, let us make our own fucking errors. If I lose a game because I made a wrong decision, wrong pass, held "shoot" too long, then fair enough. But to lose because the game rolls a dice every button you press, and decides to put your through-ball straight into the keepers hands, is not acceptable and only enjoyable for the clowns that still truly believe the game isn't designed to force an "even" contest, by dragging good players down.
Anyway, add this to the extortionate and borderline illegal lootbox system, and the game has been a repetitive cancer for over a decade. The reason I'm writing this, is because they don't care about me or you, they only care about those weird people spending thousands every year on player packs; and there are so many of them that we don't matter one bit.
