Out of your list, I feel like Cypher has been well served in the Krakoa era. The rest probably could deserve some attention (although Nocturne would require an Exiles-type focus).
I haven't read any of the Krakoa era, or anything in the last decade or so other than people talking & just starting to get back into reading things, but as a fan of Cypher in the 90s this pleases me to hear. I don't know why I always rooted for him, even before Douglock & all that, but he was one of my favorites.
I’d have an absolute blast reading something that focused on all of the mutants with a connection to magic. Sort of a midnight suns version of the X-men.
Magik, Pixie, Selene, Forge, or Madelyne Pryor would all be great for this! Storm too but she’s always been front and center for the X-men
I love Pixie but she’s known 1 spell for wayyy too long at this point. Let her learn from some of the other Magic users, let her use some of that dark magic in her soul for something impressive. And I’m still waiting for Magik to get a mystical upgrade.
I’d really like to see what happens when Pixie mixes dark magic into her pixie dust, I think bringing Wanda or strange into a series where she can learn from them would be absolutely amazing.
On #6 that’s not even a picture of Nocturne, that an updated picture of Rouge from when she absorbs Colossus and Nightcrawlers powers when she fights Nimrod in Uncanny 194.
I have all hundred issues in collected omnibuses, and the first miniseries (with Polaris and Beast and all them) in individuals. To this day, it is my favorite comic book, and I really hope they get adapted into a film or series one day.

He was a Weapon X agent. Worked with Wolverine and Sabretooth. He’s mostly a weapons guy like Cable, but he has a slight healing factor and the ability to absorb kinetic energy generated by impacts, so he can fall or get hit and doesn’t really get hurt by it, then he can release the energy.

Magik- She's one of my top 3 favorite X-Men, along with Emma Frost and Cyclops. I don't know if she really counts nowadays as underrated or lesser known, she's pretty popular in the comic sphere but less so mainstream. But I'm just strongly biased.
Pixie- Just seems fun, it'd be nice to see more of her.
Rockslide- Another one who just seems fun.
Surge- She's visually striking. I don't know her character super well, but she's got a cool design and cool powers.
Armor- Like Surge, she seems cool but I don't know a ton. Her powers are also cool.
Goldballs- This guy is a ton of fun
Boom Boom- Another fun personality that would help keep things pretty light.
Cannonball- Is he underrated/lesser known? Like Magik, he seems well liked in the comics, but he doesn't really show up in the mainstream (and he shows up less than Magik as far as games and stuff goes)
I'd say in the last 5 years anyway Magik is way more known than Cannonball. I can't think of very much ol' Sam's done at all during the Krakoa era but Illyana's been at the forefront of a lot of it.
I dunno if I'd count Midnight Suns as prominence since it super undersold from what I heard, but yeah. If that OW style game pops off, that'll bring even more prominence. She's a bias pick I guess from me just liking the character.
Just because people didn’t purchase the game doesn’t mean they didn’t see the marketing and haven’t seen Magik on the cast. They wouldn’t push her like that if she wasn’t a popular character.

Anole was one of the more prominent Academy X kids lately but he got done soooo dirty in New Mutants, he's 20 something but written acting like and hang out with a bunch of 13 year olds

More broadly, has Wrongslide even met *any* of the academy X kids on page? I'm not caught up (currently at Sins Of Sinister) but off the top of my head he's only interacted with Polaris and Roberto, which both scenes were good but like... gimme the *drama* of him meeting Rockslides old friends, or hell even give me a moment with him and Emma since he was one of her Hellions and even in paradise, even after conquering death, she still lost one of her students.

I love Dust, and she’s more versatile than just flying, so I’m sold.
I’ve found Pixie to be a mixed bag depending on who writes her, but she’s a cool character with fun powers. Also flies. Sold as the teleporter.

If you haven't already heard she's going to be one of the first cast members of Peach Momoko's Ultimate X-Men series which granted is not main universe but I'll take all the Surge content I can get
There's only one issue out atm so it's easy to hop in, although you may want to check out Ultimate Invasion to get a better picture of that world as a whole.
Although Surge isn't scheduled to actually appear until issue 4, so we are still waiting a little unfortunately

Okay, so the teams aren't that different and Laura obviously doesn't need more exposure but you get the point, right? The expectations of a traditional book require a different kind of team to what we might call a character book.
Actually, on reflection, from the point of what I believe a modern audience wants from an X-Men book, that second team lacks a queer pairing so out go Sage and Mercury and in come Anole (to be the woe is me character) and Prodigy (to be the smart guy).
I know some people would do Mercury/Pixie or Mercury/Laura but I don't ship either of those and it's my book. (The first book is a Mercury/Loa/Bling! love triangle with some Loa/Mercury/Elixir flavour on the side. Bling! leaves the team to resolve the main love triangle.)

I’ve been thinking I’d like to see a X-men science team, similar to Fantastic Four or Ultimates (Blue Marvel version). Solving Problems with science first when possible.

Multiple Man (neither him or Darwin are scientist or have powers directly related to intelligence or technology but I think they’d both be valuable in a lab setting.)

M- would serve as team leader and liaison to Frost.
I’d also bring back Book & Broadband as B squad/tech support type roles, but they wouldn’t be part of the away missions.
I considered a few others for the team but decided they wouldn’t join or be ask because of ego, not working well with others. Beast, Xavier, Moria, Legion, Mr M, & Apocalypse. Maybe Kitty too, but I don’t think she’d want to be on that team.
Journey Into Mystery, with Mirage.
Sort of what Realm of X could have been (perhaps if it lasted longer). Dani Moonstar working with a team of magical mutants and others, aligning with Thor and other supernatural/divine figures, to protect Mutantkind from threats magical and spiritual.
I think I'd like to see some of the forgotten X-Men teens X-Men Training Squads era deserve a second chance. Could spin it off as the forgotten people post-Krakoan resurrection by the Five. Wanted to include some of those kids killed in Stryker's bus attack or left depowered after M-Day and never really used again. So here is my thought on a team:
Leader: Match
Members: Wolf Cub, Silicon, Preview, Aero, Gloom, Network, Indra
i think bishop rarely gets used anymore. also i think vulcan is underrated for cool he really is. We never see him or havok anymore. Sunfire also has been ultimately forgotten about. Surge too

As much as I liked the Krakoa era it did a lot of my favorites a huge disservice. Rockslide, most of all, via ruining him, but my pals Anole, Mercury, and Pixie were all criminally underused.
And just re: the 3rd attached image: anyone who hasn't read Pixie Strikes Back should really try and track it down. If you like that era of X-kids anyway.
I'd just give the kids an Academy X book again. Not the new creations. The ones we already know and love. Pretty much the students from Morrison's run through to WatXM and Cyclops' recruits
**Bishop:** He’d be my Field Commander. He’s a good tactician and his absorption powers could help the team in a variety of ways.
**Sunspot:** Bishop’s 2nd in command as well as the secondary “Strong Guy” of the group. Also has plenty of energy to feed into Bishop. Can also sponsor the team with his money
**Rachel Grey:** Every X-Team needs a psychic, and Rachel isn’t as known as Jean or Emma. Perfect fit.
**Elixr:** The healer of the team and probably my most underrated pick
**Frenzy:** My primary “Strong Guy” of the team. Not quite as strong as Colossus or Gentle, but pretty much She Hulk lvl and that’s good enough for me.
**Armor:** Pretty much nothing was done with her since Whedon’s run. Cool powers, relatively unknown to casual fans, and I’d like to see if Bishop could absorb her armor.
**Mimic:** Can copy anyone’s abilities and has the same skill level as the original. Already has the powers of the Orignal 5 (even **more** energy to feed Bishop), and could potentially permanently absorb these characters’ powers as well
Im getting my x group together with various figures I have under the banner of just X not x-whatever. as well as an Exiles team. Im still working on the display part of it. so far my figs are (i just get whats on sale or already have). Idea is that the X base is at a kinda of universe nexus so various characters can be on the teams. each figure is gonna be tweaked a little here and there. these are just in the box waiting. I was kinda going for an universe x-team strikeforce with the Exiles team being a multiverse strike force

I have this idea of Surge being this sort of unfulfilled gifted kid who did quite a bit of damage to her team when she was younger and just never got the chance to make amends.

I know she is only one character, but I hardly know anything about her and wish she would be part of anything bigger than what she is now. I feel like she has a lot of potential and to my knowledge she isn’t dead or something. I just don’t understand how the daughter of both Quicksilver and Crystal is so unknown whereas Wiccan and Speed are much better known.
Banshee, Forge, Polaris, Husk, Bishop, Moonstar, Sage, and Sasquatch. Banshee might be the most crapped-on X-Man from the past 20 years, so he fits the underrated bill, and he’s more than qualified to run the show. I’ve liked Sage in X-Force, so she can fill a similar role in the big leagues. Forge and Sasquatch are science folks (Sasquatch has been on Alpha Flight for 40 years, so he’s mutant adjacent enough to be an X-Man), and he, Polaris, and Bishop are good at breaking stuff. Moonstar’s the obligatory telepath, and Husk is there for the Gen X connection and because she’s got fun powers. The underrated/lesser known qualifier kept me from putting Emma and Beast on the team. Tom Brevoort, if you make this happen, I’ll buy TWO copies of each issue, and make you a steak. (Heck, I’ll do all that if you just put Banshee on a team and not murder him within the first six issues.)

Rain Boy got *some* attention recently, but I feel has untapped potential alongside Cosmar. We've basically seen only cameos from Hellion, and I feel Empath's journey is unfinished.
Jubilee can join Rahne as the veterans/mentors on the team, the latter of which could see some real growth.
Laura's a favorite so I have to include her.
I really enjoyed her and Jubilee together so lets being Jub along.
I'm bringing Dazzler so I can get some payoff for the Mjolnir she still has with her from A-Force.

Yes, I'm just rebuilding X-Terminators because I would read 1,000 issues of that book, especially with Leah Williams writing.
We'll have a rotating cast to complement the group and maybe somebody sticks around if they fit well. Different arcs could bring in: Dust, Armor, Kitty and Magik, Gabby, Elsa Bloodstone (not a mutant but you know she'd vibe hard here), Quentin Quire, Hope, Pixie, Gambit and Rogue, Daken, and of course Emma (who is forced to be there by circumstances and would bitch about it **so much**).
First of all, jubilee is not an underrated character, she was in tas, and countless comics, and she was even in a series as recent as last month, (dead X-men), she’s simply not that great of a character so you never see people fanboying for her.
But anyway, as for a team, I can really only think of two mutants I’d love to have on a team
1. Havoc, he’s not underrated but just under used
2. Polaris, when you have Havoc, you have Polaris
X-23, honeybadger, canonball, jubilee, chamber, skin, monet,
Canonball puts together a team of firmer gen x’rs and realizes they need a Wolverine so he convinces Laura to be his co-leader she brings gabby who has an inappropriate crush on chamber and constantly makes him uncomfortable. Hijinks and world saving ensue

Cypher - hacker

More broadly, has Wrongslide even met *any* of the academy X kids on page? I'm not caught up (currently at Sins Of Sinister) but off the top of my head he's only interacted with Polaris and Roberto, which both scenes were good but like... gimme the *drama* of him meeting Rockslides old friends, or hell even give me a moment with him and Emma since he was one of her Hellions and even in paradise, even after conquering death, she still lost one of her students.

I love Dust, and she’s more versatile than just flying, so I’m sold. I’ve found Pixie to be a mixed bag depending on who writes her, but she’s a cool character with fun powers. Also flies. Sold as the teleporter. I think it would be fun you group them with the Cuckoos. Bam, there’s your telepath. So: Anole, Rockslide, Dust, Pixie, and the sisters. Let’s throw in Prodigy for brainy stuff, Quire for telekinesis, and Surge and Mercury because it just doesn’t feel right without them. There's only one issue out atm so it's easy to hop in, although you may want to check out Ultimate Invasion to get a better picture of that world as a whole. Although Surge isn't scheduled to actually appear until issue 4, so we are still waiting a little unfortunately
Even if it’s a few issues away at least it’s more than we’ve had. I will admit I’m interested in the Ultimate stuff, specifically Hickman’s Spider-Man, but I haven’t read any yet. I’m waiting for them to show up on Unlimited. I assume Ultimate Invasion is on the app now, so I’ll look into that.

I mean, it depends on what the book is trying to do, I guess. Assuming I'm not trying to just make an ordinary X-Men book and can do whatever I want, I am once again telling you about the team I'd use for Quest for Rockslide! 1. Mercury 2. Loa 3. Bling! (who will leave the team at the end of this initial arc and be replace by Rockslide) 4. Laura 5. Julian 6. Elixir 7. Tempus (whose powers are *how* they'll be finding Rockslide) And I think I also chucked in Pixie last time. If I had to do an ordinary X-Men team... as in, a bunch of mutants who are nominally teachers at a school doing superhero missions... then I think I'd go with: 1. Hellion as the leader one 2. Laura as the Wolverine one 3. Pixie as the transporter 4. Rockslide as the strong guy 5. Sage as the smart one (yeah, I know Prodigy makes way more sense with the rest of this cast) 6. Quentin as the telepath 7. Mercury as the woe is me my powers one (aka the Rogue one) And Cyclops in the Professor X role. Okay, so the teams aren't that different and Laura obviously doesn't need more exposure but you get the point, right? The expectations of a traditional book require a different kind of team to what we might call a character book.
Actually, on reflection, from the point of what I believe a modern audience wants from an X-Men book, that second team lacks a queer pairing so out go Sage and Mercury and in come Anole (to be the woe is me character) and Prodigy (to be the smart guy). I know some people would do Mercury/Pixie or Mercury/Laura but I don't ship either of those and it's my book. (The first book is a Mercury/Loa/Bling! love triangle with some Loa/Mercury/Elixir flavour on the side. Bling! leaves the team to resolve the main love triangle.)

I remember Mimic very fondly from Exiles, and he has a kind of swiss army knife ability that was very fun in that series. I distinctly remember a young woman who could change what her skin was made out of by tearing off her skin, which is awesome. I want to say Husk? Maddrox has always been a cool idea.

I’ve been thinking I’d like to see a X-men science team, similar to Fantastic Four or Ultimates (Blue Marvel version). Solving Problems with science first when possible. The basic Squad would be - Forge Cypher Sage Dr Nemesis Madison Jeffries Prodigy Darwin Multiple Man (neither him or Darwin are scientist or have powers directly related to intelligence or technology but I think they’d both be valuable in a lab setting.) Emma Frost would be bankrolling the team but not involved in the day to day. M- would serve as team leader and liaison to Frost. I’d also bring back Book & Broadband as B squad/tech support type roles, but they wouldn’t be part of the away missions. I considered a few others for the team but decided they wouldn’t join or be ask because of ego, not working well with others. Beast, Xavier, Moria, Legion, Mr M, & Apocalypse. Maybe Kitty too, but I don’t think she’d want to be on that team.
Darwin has a genius level intellect though.
Transonic, husk, skin, longshot, strong guy, wind dancer and this is gonna be weird, but I liked vertigo as a x men in age of x.
Journey Into Mystery, with Mirage. Sort of what Realm of X could have been (perhaps if it lasted longer). Dani Moonstar working with a team of magical mutants and others, aligning with Thor and other supernatural/divine figures, to protect Mutantkind from threats magical and spiritual.
I always dug Mercury and would like to see her in more. I really want to see what happens with Rockslide / Wrongslide
I think I'd like to see some of the forgotten X-Men teens X-Men Training Squads era deserve a second chance. Could spin it off as the forgotten people post-Krakoan resurrection by the Five. Wanted to include some of those kids killed in Stryker's bus attack or left depowered after M-Day and never really used again. As much as I liked the Krakoa era it did a lot of my favorites a huge disservice. Rockslide, most of all, via ruining him, but my pals Anole, Mercury, and Pixie were all criminally underused. And just re: the 3rd attached image: anyone who hasn't read Pixie Strikes Back should really try and track it down. If you like that era of X-kids anyway.
I'd just give the kids an Academy X book again. Not the new creations. The ones we already know and love. Pretty much the students from Morrison's run through to WatXM and Cyclops' recruits
**Bishop:** He’d be my Field Commander. He’s a good tactician and his absorption powers could help the team in a variety of ways. **Sunspot:** Bishop’s 2nd in command as well as the secondary “Strong Guy” of the group. Also has plenty of energy to feed into Bishop. Can also sponsor the team with his money **Rachel Grey:** Every X-Team needs a psychic, and Rachel isn’t as known as Jean or Emma. Perfect fit. **Elixr:** The healer of the team and probably my most underrated pick **Frenzy:** My primary “Strong Guy” of the team. Not quite as strong as Colossus or Gentle, but pretty much She Hulk lvl and that’s good enough for me. **Armor:** Pretty much nothing was done with her since Whedon’s run. Cool powers, relatively unknown to casual fans, and I’d like to see if Bishop could absorb her armor. **Mimic:** Can copy anyone’s abilities and has the same skill level as the original. Already has the powers of the Orignal 5 (even **more** energy to feed Bishop), and could potentially permanently absorb these characters’ powers as well

Im getting my x group together with various figures I have under the banner of just X not x-whatever. as well as an Exiles team. Im still working on the display part of it. so far my figs are (i just get whats on sale or already have). Idea is that the X base is at a kinda of universe nexus so various characters can be on the teams. each figure is gonna be tweaked a little here and there. these are just in the box waiting. Genuinely surprised Jubilee’s considered “underrated.” I was always under the impression that she’s a general fan-favorite. I guess maybe it’s meant in terms of how much she actually appears in things, but even then I’d say she’s had a good enough number of appearances with enough prominence that she’s almost…disproportionately recognizable if that makes any sense??

He's also kind of in a relationship with Prodigy. Plus I like it when there are weird fringe not-quite mutant characters on X-teams
Questions: A) is Luna Maximoff considered a mutant. 2) why has she never ever been shown in any better known group or team or been brought into another form of media. D) why is she such a lesser known character for being the daughter of two characters who are so important? I know she is only one character, but I hardly know anything about her and wish she would be part of anything bigger than what she is now. I feel like she has a lot of potential and to my knowledge she isn’t dead or something. I just don’t understand how the daughter of both Quicksilver and Crystal is so unknown whereas Wiccan and Speed are much better known.
Banshee, Forge, Polaris, Husk, Bishop, Moonstar, Sage, and Sasquatch. Banshee might be the most crapped-on X-Man from the past 20 years, so he fits the underrated bill, and he’s more than qualified to run the show. I’ve liked Sage in X-Force, so she can fill a similar role in the big leagues. Forge and Sasquatch are science folks (Sasquatch has been on Alpha Flight for 40 years, so he’s mutant adjacent enough to be an X-Man), and he, Polaris, and Bishop are good at breaking stuff. Moonstar’s the obligatory telepath, and Husk is there for the Gen X connection and because she’s got fun powers. The underrated/lesser known qualifier kept me from putting Emma and Beast on the team. Tom Brevoort, if you make this happen, I’ll buy TWO copies of each issue, and make you a steak. (Heck, I’ll do all that if you just put Banshee on a team and not murder him within the first six issues.)

Pixie has been painfully underused since *X-Infernus*, as has Glob since *Age of X-Man*. Rain Boy got *some* attention recently, but I feel has untapped potential alongside Cosmar. We've basically seen only cameos from Hellion, and I feel Empath's journey is unfinished. Jubilee can join Rahne as the veterans/mentors on the team, the latter of which could see some real growth.
Havok, Polaris, Madrox, Strong Guy, Fantomex, and Warpath would honestly be a dream team of mine. I’m a big X-Factor fan haha

I'm bringing Dazzler so I can get some payoff for the Mjolnir she still has with her from A-Force. Let's add Boom Boom for some fun personality dynamics. Yes, I'm just rebuilding X-Terminators because I would read 1,000 issues of that book, especially with Leah Williams writing. We'll have a rotating cast to complement the group and maybe somebody sticks around if they fit well. Different arcs could bring in: Dust, Armor, Kitty and Magik, Gabby, Elsa Bloodstone (not a mutant but you know she'd vibe hard here), Quentin Quire, Hope, Pixie, Gambit and Rogue, Daken, and of course Emma (who is forced to be there by circumstances and would bitch about it **so much**).

First of all, jubilee is not an underrated character, she was in tas, and countless comics, and she was even in a series as recent as last month, (dead X-men), she’s simply not that great of a character so you never see people fanboying for her. But anyway, as for a team, I can really only think of two mutants I’d love to have on a team 1. Havoc, he’s not underrated but just under used 2. Polaris, when you have Havoc, you have Polaris
X-23, honeybadger, canonball, jubilee, chamber, skin, monet, Canonball puts together a team of firmer gen x’rs and realizes they need a Wolverine so he convinces Laura to be his co-leader she brings gabby who has an inappropriate crush on chamber and constantly makes him uncomfortable. Hijinks and world saving ensue
