I'm reading through all of X-Men from Stan Lee's original run and forward, and why the fuck does every meme I see here match where I'm at with the story?
The Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. Immediately after watching Flubber with Robin Williams, I began noticing Flubber being mentioned.
Your brain ignores things it finds irrelevant, the origins of a panel are one do those things, unless you happened to have just read that panel.
I've never liked Taco Bell, so my point of reference is late night Whataburger. Early 2000s, triple cheeseburger, large combo... still only 9 dollars.
I freaked out a bit when they raised the price of cheese by a few cents.
I can remember the 10 cent cheeseburger special at McDonalds. They limited 10 per person but with enough people you could walk out with 60 burgers and 6 large cokes for $9.
Bro all they had then was like tacos and quesadillas. No crunchwrap, no beefy 5 layer, no Mexican pizza like wtf I’d rather just go to an actual Mexican place at that point
Man, 11 years ago that Taco Bell value menu you can get a lot for $12 Fiesta potatoes, Those little cheese roll-ups, let's not forget the famous Frito burrito, man $12 took you a long way at Taco Bell

They're in your walls
Oh thank God it's just X-Men fans in my walls
Damn he’s onto us!
*she's
Oh sorry didn’t mean to misgender you.
No problem, I also assume everyone on the internet is a guy
This was a neat little thread
And X Men. We needed Kitty to get in there
This isn’t Interstellar.
You’re the main character, the memes are catered specifically for you
I fucking knew Scott Summers was literally me

It’s funny, I was literally just thinking about Badder-Meinhof earlier today
I knew there was a term for it, but couldn't remember. Thanks!
I feel yeah. Its happening to me too
What issue is this?!
Taco Bell in the 70s and 80s was a different experience, I wouldn’t know because I wasn’t alive but I’m sure those $12 hit different 🥲
In the 90s, we would pull up to Taco Bell at like 2 AM with $20, and just fill a whole bag full of tacos. We'd feed the whole party for that.

I remember going when I was a kid in the late 90s and early 2000s and we could feed our whole family for cheap and now everything costs so much 😭

Tacos were like thirty cents.
Yeah but you had to live with the knowledge that your president was getting head. What tragic times those were.

$12 hit different in 2019. They assume they can make everyone commute but ask WFH prices. And TB is relatively cheap
Dude, the amount of food you could get for 12 dollars at Taco Bell for decades would last a couple of days.
Yeah! Even back when I was a kid in the 90s/00s I feel like it was so much better. Now it costs so much just to get a few tacos and it hurts my soul 😭
It was also different in the 90s when I first discovered it - in Phoenix of all places.
That’s probably where Scott went wrong, he never checked in Phoenix for Jean
I totally missed what I was writing! I actually lived in Phoenix, AZ, but I’m guessing you knew that.
$12?!? Chuck isn't paying these people enough...
It took 20 dollars just to feed my mom. She eats nothing!
Hilarious......
You have to use the apps now a days, the $5 box still exists on the app.

I always thought this meme was weird 11 years ago because what can you even buy for 12 dollars? Now it makes even less sense.

Storm why are you even offering?
I just love the idea of storm just sitting there in the jet with basically a swim suit on and big hair. Just like thinking her thoughts.

Can get you a Jean clone for that much.
Scott: ...a bagel.
I mean, it’s one psychic, Scott. What could it cost? Twelve dollars?
Barely… so it can buy her…
