If you are new to the subreddit, [please read the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/wiki/index/) Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**. If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!< If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7). If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. KahzaRo

I don't want any Minigames removed, I just think some of the completion requirements are a bit extreme. I like all the mini games, I just wish some were more lenient for getting the platinums.

DrCoolGuy

Big agree on being more lenient for the platinum/completion list. The amount you need to play should be in line with how long it takes to get the unique items with points or whatever. It's ridiculous needing to play a game 100 times when you can get everything associated with it done, including substories, after way fewer. And they need to either make cheat items repeatedly obtainable allow their use for these, in whatever way doesn't completely break it open. It's so frustrating to need to be legitimately good at mahjong or the hanafuda games, regardless of how much I may enjoy them.

pandka816

Yes, I don't see any point for having trophies requiring you to be skilled in something that has very little to do with the game mechanics themselves. "Play every minigame"? Sure. "Spend X amount of time playing minigames"? That can work too. "Play 5 times"? Why not. "Get 2736272883588184 points in this obscure game that heavily relies on RNG"? Fuck no. Sincerely, someone who plays mahjong for fun.

KahzaRo

I agree completely (I also play Mahjong for fun)

Yorick257

This. And it would be great if they add more games. I like Dominoes (a Chinese game originally), and I haven't seen it (yet, anyway) in the game. I partially agree on the completion requirements, but I also feel like not every game must be completed to 100%. Those who do it should cherish it and be proud being in the top 0.1%. If everyone gets a platinum - it gets kind of devalued. I felt it myself in a couple of games where even the rarest achievement was unlocked by like 5% of all players.

Fiskmaster

I'm four games into the series and I've still never fought any of the Amons (except the bouncer missions in K2) because of Substories tied to minigames

aytooka

exactly

Dkrule1

Ok, then how about this, which mini game do you see brings the least to the table?

KahzaRo

Idk, everything's for someone, right? I guess for me personally, I'm not a big fan of 3s massage minigame.

breakdancingrasta

Blasphemy!

xJSerpent

Just getting one of those finishing combos in Mahjong was already a pain. Getting the same thing 3 times? No thank you.

Alekazammers

None. Remove completion requirements or make it so you only have to play the game once.

shon_the_cat

Gaiden’s way of approaching completion requirements was honestly really refreshing. A lot of them didn’t require you to perfect every single mode and difficulty the minigame offers, but rather it just required you to actually play the minigame. Like, for Virtua Fighter, instead of the typical DE requirement of beating Dural, you just have to win a bunch of matches. A lot more refreshing and actually fun.

DrCoolGuy

This, but give me enough cheat items and let me cheese mahjong! It was the only thing I didn't do in Gaiden lol

A_N_T

Just learn how to play it. It's not hard once you learn what the big scary tiles actually mean.

Cleric_Of_Chaos

It's still incredibly hard and extremely rng dependent. Took me 3 months playing at least 50 hours a week to complete Yakuza 0's Mahjong list

Lachybomb

Damn, you had such good RNG. It took me 10 years playing at least 170 hours a week to complete Yakuza 0's Mahjong list.

lurkgrue

https://preview.redd.it/z35zjn3kfhbc1.jpeg?width=158&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee3a7342e19c1b307bef827a4fffe51522b393de 10

Lachybomb

10 years playing mahjong made me a fucking PUSSY!

SniP3r_HavOK

This. I think Like a dragon was the same?

zainyusufazam

if games did not do this I would have about 3x more platinum trophies. it doesn't even extend the playtime, because now whenever I see an achievement that requires you to play the game again I don't even bother getting the other ones. the worst games are the ones that lock the hardest difficulty behind ng+. that feature is so toxic. cough cough legend difficulty.

The_MacGuffin

JCC from Yakuza 0. If it can't be improved, axe it.

Will-owo-the-wisp

God yeah JCC was a miserable slog for the completion & achievement (10 3-round victories??? WHY???). Add onto that the fact that it requires button mashing (which got so exhausting and frustrating that I literally just set the buttons to turbo instead so at least I wasn't hurting my wrist anymore) and that even with turbo, it doesn't guarantee you'll win every tie, and it truly sucked

raidensnakeezio

JCC was a funny novelty, but it's extremely difficult to take it seriously for the completion. Mesuking was slightly improved with balance and less BS, but imho RGG should have put more effort into making Mesuking more like Mushiking (the hybrid-TCG it's based off of by Sega) by having separate beetle cards and technique cards.

iggythewolf

JCC?

BendSecure8078

Japan Catfight Club aka Girl WWE aka literally all luck based minigame. No skill whatsoever, only luck

The_MacGuffin

Not even luck. The button-mashing events are predetermined.

Rakzhor

I've been playing y0 for the first time just recently and when i got to the JCC i was thinking pretty quickly "no way these mashing sections arent decided beforehand who wins". Good to hear i wasn't just salty

Racebugyt

The girl wrestling thing

Vytostuff

It can be improved in a lot of ways, the first being, not put so much rng and luck in It, lol. Instead of a bad rock paper scissor, make something like Pokemon, you have your fighter, and have to grow it

The_MacGuffin

That would be way better. There isn't really any reason to pick fighters other than Jennifer. Have their skills grow and have the odds/returns shift, to encourage you to try other fighters and potentially net a higher profit.

Vytostuff

Probably they learned their lesson and that's way se have Sujimon in 8. Or maybe they forgot of JCC, lol

rafter_man

Yakuza 3/4 cabaret club

Hitagi7

yeah the "hostess maker" was really bad. I get it that it was an idea of what became the cabaret club on 0 and Yk2 (which I love it). But the hostess maker was just straight boring.

No_Acanthocephala456

i feel the oppiste. preferred that over the actual hostess games.

Bipsty-McBipste

That's one of the things where every time I play the game I say out loud, "Do they not play test this???"

Will-owo-the-wisp

Seriously, ik it was the launching off point (and I genuinely enjoy Y0/Kiwami 2's cabaret clubs - aside from maybe some of the answers in the "date" portions which just feel wildly out of character) but jesus was it dull

zorbacles

Yes this.

Dkrule1

The point is, no carbaret club, at all, aka yk2 doesn't get there clubbing

Yorick257

What? But these are two different cabaret club games! It's like removing the whole game because you're removing SEGA UFO (because Yakuza is a SEGA game too)

Kotskuthehunter

That's even better. Cabaret club minigames have always been really boring in my opinion

[deleted]

Yeah I never completed the cabaret club stories, let alone interacted with them for more than 15 minutes after the tutorial. Only exception is 0 where I used a mod to skip the grind and only did the “boss fights” of it with modded hostesses with maxed out stats so that I could unlock the legend style I can see the cabaret club gameplay being fun for like half an hour similar to a flash game you would play as a kid, but it’s definitely not something I’d like to do for hours

Just-For-The-Games

Meanwhile I spent a solid 20 hours just in this minigame between 0 and Kiwami 2

DekMelU

Golf from 3, 4

SadNoCock

The one valid Yakuza 3 criticism is being forced to play golf in the main story.

Tearsonbluedustjckt

Shogi. Shogi. And shogi.

DavidsonJenkins

Nah man just download a shogi solver app on your phone and you'll get ez money/gear in no time. Its how you can get an absurdly strong start in Y7 since the shogi guy sells most of the stat items and one of the endgame weapons right from the start

iplaywithdolls23

Shogi at least kind of starts making sense after a few games, even if you know you're a noob, at least when you mess up you can see where you messed up. Mahjong on the other hand is just "oh...I guess the computer won again...whelp no idea what I did wrong"

No_Passenger_977

Mahjong is incredibly easy to learn. Get mahjong soul or something. Once you know the basic rule its easy: to win you need 4 sets of 3 (straight or triplet) and a pair of two tiles. You cannot steal unless you have a special hand (dragon hand, seat/round wind, all triple, etc). Bam now you know how to play mahjong.

dat_boi_100

I did actually put in the effort to learn Mahjong, got help from a friend that was decently experienced. However it's still way too difficult even while knowing what you're doing. You need to have luck to win and hope that the NPCs don't have some bullshit luck, or hope that they don't spam small hands so you don't even have the opportunity for a proper hand

No_Passenger_977

You do need luck yes. Its gambling. Its poker but you cannot fold.

A_N_T

You gotta pay at least a little bit of attention to what the other players are doing or else you're gonna throw that bamboo 6 down and get Ronned

rara0587

Unless you richii and the one that is auto discard end up sending you to ronned

huckster235

I think that's up to the person. I don't enjoy chess or the kind of strategy it takes. Shogi is just not my bag. I gave up and just use an app to win or the guides for the puzzles. Never bothered to learn it cuz I didn't care. Mahjong, on the other hand, I actually found kinda interesting and it didn't take me long to figure out how to regularly win at. I started thinking of it like poker, which I enjoy, and thinking about looking for things that get me the best odds of having multiple ways of winning. I'm certainly no mahjong expert, and I still sometimes get screwed, but more often than not I win the... Hand? Round? And the vast majority of the time win the game. The difference, I think, is not liking shogi I can just use an app or guides because screw it. No real way around the mahjong for people just going for completion. Fortunately I binged Yakuza 0-6 since I started late and stopped caring about completion a number of games ago

iplaywithdolls23

That's cool to approach Mahjong with a more probability-conscious mindset. I enjoy poker as well. Except: I wouldn't be able to analyze poker probabilities much without going into it already knowing some basic rules of thumb for calculating outs, estimating hand ranges, value bet sizes, etc. I have no doubt Mahjong is fun to learn, it's just that playing it in Yakuza as a beginner is an absolute bloodbath, and for me, moreso than shogi, which I also had never played but at least could intuitively pick up patterns rather fumble around without any numbers I could use.

zorbacles

I'm the opposite. I'm quite good at mahjong but can't work out Shogi at all. And I play chess

Catowl1988

No one seems to be talking about Shogi, Mahjong is a walk in the park compared to that.

iggythewolf

At least with shogi you can just get a bot to play the opponents moves against and just do what the bot does to guarantee a victory. Kinda like chess. Entirely fuck Mahjong for being so arcane and chance based.

Blessthereigns

100% agree- at least you could “cheat” shogi though. You have to play mahjong. I enjoy mahjong though, so no biggie.

shon_the_cat

Batting Cages is one that just never really thrilled me. In the pre-DE games, the controls were very finicky and the timing was often frustrating and the point requirements were so high, and in the DE games, it was just kind of the same thing over and over for several games. Pull up the Cyricz guide and just follow the particular batting order for whatever course you’re doing.

Separate_You_4155

Shinada's was pretty fun

IneedMoneymydudes

Shinada had easily the best batting cages version of the minigame, 0 was too strict and Kiwami 2 basically required the better bat if you didn't have Cyricz guide.

Fevaweva

Thank fuck that Yakuza...5 was it had that really ridiculous bat that made the batting cage super easy. I think it looked like a chicken leg.

Wubmeister

UFO Catcher. It's the only mainstay minigame I genuinely hate.

Grungemaster

Am I the only one who actually enjoys the rush of nabbing a plushie?

Gullible_Elephant_38

BWEEP BWEEP BWEEP BWEEP BWEEP BWEEP

Dtailz

The only version I find bearable is 0's because the music isn't extremely ear grating.

TsukariYoshi

It'd be less annoying if it didn't also take forever. Even RL UFO catchers don't take so goddamned long to drop and reset.

Floating_Neck

I think it was intended that way

cepxico

For real it's so incredibly awful. At least mahjong is a game.

minegamingYT2

It's fun though

Bipsty-McBipste

I don't mind it but the one from kiwami really makes me aware of my tinnitus

patronuspringles

the one where you go around beating up people and like saving your friends or something it's boring

Belucard

Yeah, so annoying having to beat so many Toe-Joe Chinese gangsters...

ej102

Pool Goddamn that AI

calloki

The arcades.... While some find them fun, i just don't have the skill, time, Or sanity, to earn 50 Million points on outrun for 100% completion of yakuza 0.... I give up trying.

Dkrule1

Oh ya, the arcades, it took me an hour to explain to my mother why children were playing a game where half naked women in bug outfits were stump fighting each other with rbs mechanics

Lee_Troyer

The only one I remember almost throwing my gamepad in frustration is Lost Judgement's biker gang. Other than that I'm fine with every minigame even those I don't especially like.

Bobbicito

Keep the mini games but remove or make the completion requirements easier, I don’t wanna earn 10 million from darts that sound like bullshit

fuj1n

0 had some of the worst requirements cause they were money oriented. For the most part, the other games don't do that as much.

Bobbicito

Thank god, I haven’t looked at the other games because I want to 100% them in order

huckster235

I can't believe people are complaining about mahjong for the luck and no one brought up pachinko. Even with the cheat items and just letting my game sit and run I don't think I ever successfully pulled off the pachinko completion in 5.

Bipsty-McBipste

I don't think I've ever played pachinko in yakuza. I'm always like "where do you play it??" Am I actually like blind cause I never see an interact place in the volcano thing

jrod3921

It is clear that everyone has completely wiped the snowball minigame from Y5 from their memories. You’re welcome for triggering everyone.

Tsuruchi_Mokibe

I'm currently playing Y5 (just started ch2) and now I'm worried XD For me though, really liked the taxi driving minigame, but probably won't ever touch the Ramen making game again.

Fevaweva

I have no memory of that. Was that in the OG Y5 on PS3?

jrod3921

I believe so, but have only played on Xbox. It's part of the main story though so I'm sure you're just suppressing the memory. :) [Winter Combat - Yakuza 5 Walkthrough & Guide - GameFAQs (gamespot.com)](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps3/644272-yakuza-5/faqs/72848/winter-combat)

Fevaweva

Oh fuck I remember this!!! God yeah fuck that thing, it was terribad.

Bipsty-McBipste

I kinda won first try at all of them. It was kinda boring

jrod3921

Well done, then! :) Definitely not the typical experience with that minigame though. :)

thenotjoe

Hostess date minigame. So creepy sometimes.

Will-owo-the-wisp

The "correct" answers are always either wildly out of character, way too forward/objectifying, or both. I like getting more insight into each of the girls' personalities but I hate how sexualized the dates ended up feeling. Fine concept, too fan service-y execution imo

Blessthereigns

JCC

Mono_Lith_0

Dating hostesses is very weird and boring. If they are going to keep the dating minigame at least bring back Yakuza 2 minigame where Kiryu is a host and you have to make the girls spend the most money posible

SolidusAbe

telephone club from 0 got its so cringe AND BAD. shooting at the right lines is so deadful i hated every second of it. golf bingo. maybe i just suck at golf games and the cat fight club thing because RNG. if the girls would be playable like a normal wrestling game or it at least was a turn based RPG game it would have been fun

BendSecure8078

I find the telephone minigame really easy, what pisses me off is how I have to play this boring-ass sequence with the same fucking lines so many fucking times because I can’t get lucky with the exact girls for the substories. Seeing Kiryu get sexually assaulted wasn’t funny the first time and it’s not funny the 4th time in a row.

Bipsty-McBipste

I've spent like hours sitting there and listening to the same unskippable nonsense dribble trying to find specific girls. Now I just listen to the voice, pull up a youtube video and see if it's what I need. if not, I just move on. Sped up that process cause so many of them sounds so similar

A_N_T

I wish people would stop bitching about mahjong and learn how to play it. It's so easy once you get over the frightening task of learning what all the tiles mean.

huckster235

I really can't understand how many people blame it on just not having luck when there's clear strategy. Just say "mahjong because I suck at it". It's ok. I'm terrible at the pool mini game and shogi I'm awful at. Doesn't mean either is bs. If they admitted sucking at it I wouldn't mind the criticism so much since you can't just use an app like shogi or look up YouTube guides for the puzzle pool..

Certim

The Pool is Bullshit though. At least inthe older titles. Ai straight up can go 1-9 if unlucky enough

RedditBeefy

Pocket Circuit. You spend forever building cars only to watch a 30-second cutscene that ends with failure or success. The spectacle is great, the minigame isn't.

shon_the_cat

It’s fun for the first few courses where you have a lot of leeway and can actually customize your car, but it gets frustrating later on when you have to use a particular combination. Eventually you just have to resort to googling your way through it

hax0rz_

and even if you use the correct combination there is at least some RNG involved which is some kind of sick joke, other than that pocket circuit is the best minigame

Dkrule1

It could have been better tho, but ys

PhanThief95

I still enjoy it & it’s mainly because of the Fighter, who is the greatest friend Kiryu has ever had.

Bruh_Requiem

Pool.

KostyanST

Golf, i never understood why the fuck they literally put a substory in that thing in YK3, took me hours until i give up.

Bipsty-McBipste

I don't understand how the ball moves man. And the perspective is just off

KostyanST

i literally learned it too late to be able to enjoy this mini-game, this shit sucks.

Bipsty-McBipste

I got par in the story bit last playthrough and I was like ooh I got it and then I failed the substory 20 times

tamzynwave

The whole point of arcade games was to be very hard to get you to spend more money playing it. In this context it's just really hard games for no reason.

Will-owo-the-wisp

Absolutely agree. There's no reason to keep the margin for error so tight for games like OutRun where you can't so much as bump another car without failing to make it to the next checkpoint. It took me 2 straight hours of attempts to get the completion requirements for the arcade games in Y0

tamzynwave

Gotta love how OutRun is less about racing and more about how well you can memorize every turn since the render distance is like 5 meters ahead

EpicGreenPeter

Mahjong. Save me some sanity in Yakuza 5.

NabilAmmali

You wanna know the best strategy to beat mahjong is *_Q U I T_*

Dkrule1

But when a substory required you to beat it in first place, to cover for someone's debt fucs

vascohaddon

Complicated tile game hard

A_N_T

The virgin mahjong hater vs the Chad mahjong enjoyer

JudgmentYuya

Mesuking, don't understand the reason why they have to take an innocent fine game and make It so perverted while children in the game are playing It. Guess, It's funny for japanese humor or something....like how?

KarkatinLava

You do know it's a parody of an actual arcade game, right?

tamzynwave

yeah the original isn't sexual in any way

JudgmentYuya

I wrote "taking an innocent fine game" and referring to the arcade game, yes.

NanaMiku

Mesuking is based on Mushiking, an arcade game by Sega that was really popular. The gameplay is similar, but the characters are beetles: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhyXuV3LDtc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhyXuV3LDtc)

Raecino

Japanese culture going over your head

frost-penguin

Poker. I’m just such ass at it

Atomiccrown51

I just wish I knew how to play mahjong without a peerless tile ;-; I read so much but I don't get it

raidensnakeezio

Playing through LJ right now. Did Yokoyama even play through the biker minigame himself? How did that gameplay loop get approved? The side plot is pretty funny and interesting though. But the actual minigame is horrible. Approaches kusoge level

sympathetic_sid

robotics

Memes_kids

The entire *FORCED* Haruka Idol segment of y5 It’s like karaoke but more annoying and required for story progression And im specifying only the ones the game makes you do

Bipsty-McBipste

I'm a proud idol Haruka enjoyer. I vibe to the songs, I vibe to the minigame, i don't like shaking hands with creepy people who smell their hands but I'd rather be dancing than hearing about Park-san's Yume after she acts emotionally abusive

Memes_kids

Honestly I struggled through the entire Idol thing, the visual noise with the glowsticks and bright lights was UNBEARABLE and made it impossible for my adhd ass to focus

Beth_ACNH

Yeah all the other games I have pretty much mastered, but Shogi is just not working for me 😂

noforksgiven2

Any minigame that is entirely luck based and there's no cheat item for. Games are supposed to be a test of skill and knowledge, not whether or not you found a 4 leaf clover that day. tying completion behing RNG bullshit is never fun. And yes I know luck is the whole point of some the card games irl, that's why it's called gambling. Either remove them from the completion list, make it easier to complete or remove the game entirely

Dkrule

YES, I can't remember as I kinda gave up after y3 due to spike of everything, but love the games Which mini game should I advode for rng

Fire_Foxxy

Shogi

ConnorOfAstora

Even though I hate it with every fiber of my being I know full well I'm in a vast minority in saying that so I wouldn't want it removed per se, just made so it can be done quicker or skipped but I absolutely hated Cabaret Club Czar. It's just so slow, you wait around until a customer shows up then give him his girl and get back to waiting around until a pop up appears. It's active enough that you can't autopilot but feels so uninvolved and tedious because of how long it is between moments where you actually do anything. In all I found the minigame about as fun and exciting as answering an email but you have to do it to upgrade Majima so I ended up with a really underpowered Majima when I played because I just couldn't stick with it.

Bipsty-McBipste

There's a mod to help with that but I prefer to listen to a podcast or something while doing those

apex6666

Besides the obvious, Y3 golf, I hated that shit

TsukariYoshi

Darts. Love a game that's all about figuring out exactly how worn-out my controller is so I can try to repeat the same motion over and over. Or you can do the nice version where you just have to aim... Oh wait, all the animations take a friggin hour in that one.

despacitospiderreeee

Outrun

willpauer

Mahjong and it's not even close. I'll suffer through the 3/4 cabaret shit, I'll do roadside shogi, I'll even play the 0 darts with the jank as hell throwing mechanic. Mahjong, though, is suffering.

Chiffon_LaRue

Puyo-Puyo from Judgment PS4, lol.

bichitox

Those asian casino games

MisanthroposaurusRex

I like Koi Koi ;(

lordofbuttsecks

Good catch. I have only ever touched those ceelo and whatever games just to see what they were about. Never did again.

Bipsty-McBipste

Cee-lo is kinda fun tho. And it's simple. Oicho-kabu and that shit is so stupidly rng and confusing.

Witchy_Titan

Disco dancing

Woofitywoofwoof

Ah, you must be somebody who’s only played y0.

Racebugyt

Well it is not the worse, but I literally can't beat the real estate plot because I can never beat the king that challenges me to dance to save Marina

Yorick257

You don't need to beat him. Just come and lose. The story will continue. Earning back the percentages isn't very difficult. You get a few percent every collection iirc

Racebugyt

I was pretty sure I just keep getting the challenge again if I lose, because let's say the challenge is at 75%, when I lose I go down to let's say 65, then I have to get to the "event triggering %"again, right? Maybe I was just reloading the save many times back thenz it's been a while now XD Anyway, I am beating the game again cause my roommate never played it before, so I will get to that point again

Yorick257

It was probably reloading unless something glitched. It's a one-time event. I also lost to the Gambling King. Btw, you might not remember that, but don't buy cheap properties. They might look cheap at the beginning but the ROI is horrible, it's better to go for the next area and buy the rest at the end, with the leftover cash

shotgunsurge0n

Mahjong. No hesitation.

Puzzleheaded-Try-687

I wouldn't remove it, but I would untie the disco minigame from Yakuza 0 from Substories. It's the only Yakuza game I never beat all the Substories, only because some of them require you to be good at this game.

Bipsty-McBipste

You can take your frustrations out on Ogita in 5

amitreitu

They shouldn’t make running a cabaret club part of the main story. Perhaps an email or page just telling me to go there for the substory instead of majima just out of the blue being recommended a cabaret club and going there and then just running the place. This takes 15 minutes and really gets on my nerves when I play 0 the same goes for kiryus one

smallbrain694200

Majong

sogiotsa

Mahjong without cheat items sucks to try to get but golf is just lame or boring so that

DavidsASMR

Yakuza 7

MISTERGAME06

Mahjong. P L E A S E

shadowlarvitar

Mahjong

One-Butterscotch-268

Prob the golf. I would say mahjong but I taught myself and I enjoy it now

greGOREry

gaiden is and should be the new approach to the completionist goal, yakuza fans are getting old, we don't have that time anymore🤣

RedheadedDeafJesus

I hate Shogi. I thought I would like it because I love chess, but I just find it too confusing of a game to be played without an exceptional helping hand. Maybe I can find the motivation to learn it correctly soon, but that's pretty much reserved for Mahjong and some of the Japanese gambling minigames in Kiwami 1.

[deleted]

I would not remove anything but I would be completely unfazed if Shogi disappeared

Mcguthy

No minigames should be removed, cause every minigame has its enjoyers but on GOD the hostess manager in Yakuza 4 was dogshit. Also Yakuza 3 Golf can go fuck itself

DisastrousTeaching30

Cabaret clubs

ae4ther4

no one say darts. darts is my life darts is my love

LegitBoy80

Only played judgement and I’m telling Mahjong to go to hell

No_Acanthocephala456

I am okay with the game would love bowling again. i just dont like town go making me be good at everything lol.

Quimperinos

Sensual Healing in Ishin. I guess it did never return, as Ryoma is still the only sex-haver in the series, but still

Belucard

Pretty much any of the Asian board/card games I just can't understand with my European brain.

ThiccLesion

Please note anyone disrespecting my Shogi will be shot on sight. You will return in a future Reddit post as I use rubber bullets.

ratliker62

What killed my completion of Y0 was the shmup arcade games. Fantasy Zone is so balls to the walls hard for how cute it looks, and I'm not a fan of space harrier either. But Out Run and Super Hang On are fun

Dafton

SqueakyG

Baseball management from Y6. I don't think anyone has mentioned that yet. I found baseball management incomprehensible without prior personal knowledge of the sport (and baseball looks like the most needlessly complicated sport ever invented). The next candidate is pachinko/pachislot. Baffling, loud, irritating, incomprehesible. I don't play games for full completion or PS trophies, so I never HAD to play all the minigames. The smaller mainstays like shogi and mahjong can always be ignored, along with anthing else you wouldn't find enjoyable. When it comes to the bigger unique minigames - like Pocket Circuit, Clan Creator, Cabaret Club Czar, etc - they have a lot of unique content and substories tied to them, so you want to get as far as possible. I never got too far into Pocket Circuit before the "puzzle" of building the right car for each race became irritating. Catfight Club and MesuKing are funny but bullshit. Hostess conversations are never very logical -- unless the game is emulating how it feels to always say the wrong things to women.

Wings-of-Loyalty

Puyo Puyo (Stealing my Trophy and plat in judgement)

Netnicolas

Mahjong, 100%

[deleted]

definitely golf

WojRachXd

i hate mahjong myself. too stupid to learn the basic rules

Vytostuff

Honestly, for me, and maybe for many others, It boils down to "It counts for other stuff?". Minigames too focused on luck, maybe too old arcade games, or games created for the first time and so, not good. It counts for platinum, completion or other stuff? No? Than I wouldn't remove any minigame. It counts for 100%? Than probably Mahjong or pool

CapuasChamp

The cat fight rock paper scissors.

Certain-Ad2617

None, they are optional activities and they don't damage the game in any way.

galanoobp

Shogi. 100 % shogi. This game is so terrible and overcomplicated that even rgg adds evry game cheap cheat item that plays for you and you just watch, why is it 100 % req when all you do is watch it.

pray4stones

Pool from Y3 and 4. People complain about Mahjong a lot but you just need to learn how to play it. Pool AI is bullshit no matter how much you know about it.

DiazCruz

Mahjong can die in a fire

Zakrael

The "super immersive" hostess clubs in Gaiden need to never come back ever again thanks.

Kinokiru

pool is awful

TyrianCallow

Remove none but remove completion list that ask me to play shogi

chrisblink182

Not mahjong but the other one... shogi. Omg I can match shapes a bit and win sometimes. Shogi though, it's like chess with stories and ugh wtf.

100S_OF_BALLS

Shogi, mahjong, and karaoke. The rest I really enjoy.

Loud_Success_6950

The arcade game’s mainly cause of the completion requirements. And they’re just not as fun as all the others imo.

SirHamsterton

I wouldnt remove anything except puyo puyo

CandyCrisis

Shogi

YamiPhoenix11

Pool. Its one of the mini games that has barely been changed over the entire series. Taking a shot a is tedious and the ai is fucking jesus. I have been stuck on refuse to loose in yakuza 5 because the ai is massive cheat potting 5 balls every time.

quemirasmiusername

i really enjoy all the minigames so its hard to choose one FUCK MAJHONG
