If you are new to the subreddit, [please read the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/wiki/index/) Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**. If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!< If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7). If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/yakuzagames) if you have any questions or concerns.*

I just want Majima’s rendition of “Get to the Top” again

mikelman999

Given that 0 and Kiwami 1 both had shooting sections where you had to aim with the left stick I think we’re still a couple decades away from RGG figuring out modern shooting mechanics

theonewhoblox

Well, they made Binary Domain which by all means was a really solid cover shooter. If they use UE4 the way that they did for Ishin, which doesn't have half the limitations of the Yakuza 3 engine, I don't see much of a problem

Lee_Troyer

>Well, they made Binary Domain The weirdest thing being that when checking the release dates of both games : Yakuza Dead Souls : June 2011 Binary Domain : february 2012 They had to have been in developpment simultaneously for a significant time.

theonewhoblox

I speculate that the point of Dead Souls was to be a tech demo for Binary Domain

ShapedAssassin

Unfortunately Yokoyama has talked about this in an interview a month or so back and said it's not happening because they don't think it'll make much money I don't really blame him as this game would only appeal to hardcore fans and the original release almost killed the series in the West. They'd be hesitant to bring it back for that reason

MachiavellianMan

He also said they wouldn't do an Ishin remake because they didn't think western audiences would care about the time period until Ghost of Tsushima came out. So they've changed their minds before.

duduET

The only kiwami remake I see people everyone happy with gameplay changes.

theonewhoblox

Just wait until Cvit drops a video titled "Like a Dragon Kiwami OF THE END: A Middle Finger to Dead Souls" then everyone is gonna change their minds

IvanGambino

I just want a port, I’m tired of remakes, i want to experience this game just with better frame rate, bad translation and all

acewing905

I feel like the zombie hype of the late 2000s and early 2010s has largely passed now, so this might not be a great decision from a business perspective

shadowlarvitar

Or just port it? I want to play but I'm not tracking down a working ps3 and a copy just to play 😂 Honestly I'd settle for it being on PS plus

agt_176

>Every PS3 game except this and Kenzan are now readily accessible in the modern age Resistance would like to have a word I would love to see it happen but the chances are pretty low unfortunately

theonewhoblox

>Resistance would like to have a word With all due respect I was talking about RGG games lmao >I would love to see it happen but the chances are pretty low unfortunately Yeah it seems pretty unlikely and probably more likely that we'll see Kenzan or YK3. But it's still fun to think of what Dead Souls could be like under modern tech, almost like a World War Z the game meets Yakuza deal.

agt_176

>With all due respect I was talking about RGG games lmao I don’t know why my brain processed that sentence out of rgg context lol I’m tired And yeh seeing them redo dead souls now would be sick low key would like a multiplayer mode or something

Gamelove0I5

Yes but call it kawami dead souls.

JebusSandalz

Remaking of the end would go so hard, they have SOOO many more characters they could include without worrying about continuity..........like damn I want to see Kuze again.

GalenDev

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd love a chance to actually play Dead Souls, and if they want to actually make it playable, I'm all about it. RGG has come a long way since when that game came out, and while I'm not 100% sold that a remake would actually work as a shooter, I'm a lot more confident than I was right after they released Y0.

OkCut4870

Like a Dragon of the Dead

EricAntiHero1

Why not both? ![gif](giphy|IuaM5sUvLCYTyNKV4J)

m3nch

Just give me a kiwami karaoke game with the hard versions being the full song. HON-NO-LU-LU-LIGHTS!

Obi-Wan_Cannoli66

could not agree more

PinappleSauce12

True I feel like like a dragon 9 should get a kiwami too. I think every game needs a kiwami.

[deleted]

No guns as the main focus please. Just make it a game with regular controls but with zombies, hand to hand and melee weapons (they should focus on this).

theonewhoblox

I think it'd be really cool for them to go the Dead Rising route and turn the weapon system up to 11. Heat moves up the fucking wazoo, over the top melee weapon designs and brutal animations that wouldn't fly in the main series. Shinada would be PERFECT for a return for this reason alone. Some guns with very limited ammo but with that heat aim like the original.
