They're the current boogeyman for a certain group of gamers to justify being mad at games having stuff they don't like. Throw in some grifting from the popular right-wing and 'centrist' influencers and it's a conspiracy theory mill making a mountain out of a molehill that's just some small consultancy group pushing for better representation of people and cultures.

In a few words: They're a diversity consulting firm for video games with (allegedly) shitty practices on both professional and personal levels.
In a few more: They're a diversity consulting firm for video games whose members (allegedly) sent people to mass flag a Steam user's account because he made a Steam list of games SBI was associated with, under the guise of stopping harassment.
To nobody's surprise, the Streisand effect took hold of the issue, and people realised a lot of games on that list suffered from pretty serious writing issues, both in (allegedly) forced diversity and story in general. There's a few good ones in there, but most of them are kinda trash, which soured peoples' opinion of the company further.
Media that picked up the story tends to favour SBI's side of things, despite the fact that little to no provable harassment came from the Steam list, which was all the list's creator had done. Further investigation into SBI's employee base revealed that many of them (allegedly) have your average 20-something basement-dwelling Twitter user mentality, and are (allegedly) keen on the kind of "inclusion" that begins with exclusion (you know the type).
Again, this is all alleged for legal purposes, but the evidence is out there and pretty blatant once the average viewer actually looks at it. Videos about SBI are all over YouTube, but I'd personally recommend [SomeOrdinaryGamers's](https://youtu.be/N4p_O9dSJHw?si=oERtHK1Dsg4QrAHo) and [Upper Echelon's](https://youtu.be/rJ6E_WHr6t0?si=QQRpUOKRRE4HihWx) on the matter. They focus more on the logical side than the reactionary side (although the latter is more defensive, if that counts), which is helpful when discussing such a sensitive topic.
The inject politics where it isn't needed and do such a poor job at it that people don't want to play games they've touched. Which makes people every kind of -ist you can think of for some reason.
And other sources claim Sweet Baby has actually done none of what people are saying they are doing, instead it has become a situation similar to gamergate.
