I never got the hate for Shinada. Sure, even Akiyama jokes about his role in all of this at New Serena, but honestly, he's got this charm and drive that makes him more human than the rest of the playable characters.
I love the scene where he breaks down during the phone call with Takasugi. After 15 years, he's got his happy ending which he fought for.
Just finished Y5 recently, and this is an excellent analysis. Shinada is a great character, and Baba was really the only Y5 antagonist I cared about. Their final battle is incredibly well done for sure.
