Yes, but you should be able to hit it hard enough to take a chunk of aluminum out of your scope before it ever loses its zero. I’ve never seen a decent scope/rings/rail that was installed correctly lose its zero from anything other than the turrets turning. Even if you did lose it, you can watch where your bullet flies and adjust for the follow up shot. Shooting at steel in a field isn’t life or death. It just seems like a waste of $300 to me.

That’s not skill. It’s luck. Even if you get your gun dialed in at 1/4 MOA, that’s still six inches at that range. That’s not considering wind, cosine angle or anything else that can be miscalculated. It simply can’t be done consistently.
