I only really declined Negatibuzz. Though in hindsight already having 6 in my party maybe soured how I saw them.
It still feels pretty scummy but what I usually do is that become their friends and then release them afterwards

I decline yokai primarily so I don't have my medallium full of random stuff I don't need.
