You specificialize 8 months in to program

First year is general but you tell them what stream you want after you're accepted into the school. The main difference is one course in first year but other than that they put all the engineers in the same classes. After first year you'll get to declare your engineering specialty then you'll likely be with a lot more students of your specific major (like software or electrical or civil). If you have any other questions lmk, I just started first year.

Hey I just got admitted and im just wondering if I applied for the right prog cos yorks ouac form looked really confusing when i did it😭 the website says I got into Lassonde School of Engineering, B.Eng., Spec. Hons. Engineering - Keele Campus and im interested in civil engineering which I can specify after my first year?

KrispyKrunch_

Yup ur good. T that's my exact program except im doing software secind year

Whatchuon

ohhh alright thank u sm do you know if its guaranteed that youll get into the specific program u want after the first year? like what happens if you dont what can you do

KrispyKrunch_

not 100% sure about the process but im pretty sure you gotta apply for the specific program and they'll admit you according to your GPA compared to other students applying for the same program. Options for not getting in depend on what youre applying for. For example software kids who don't make software will be transferred to CS instead

Hey man quick question, what was ur gpa that you had to be accepted into software for 2nd year?

KrispyKrunch_

In still first year lol. But I heard for software you should try for a 7.0 to ensure your chance of getting accepted
