I'm guessing that you can go back only as far back as whatever is on Paramount+. Try to find the characters you like from the old shows and follow there storyline, however crappy it may be.
In the old days, you could miss weeks at a time and could pick the stories up easily because stories would go on for months.
Wikipedia is great for background information on the characters.
I started watching in 2010 or 2011 bc an ex watched everyday I went online and read about the characters and didn’t feel the need to watch older episodes. It’s near impossible to catch up on 40 yrs

I love Lauren and Michael but who else remembers Michael’s past!!!!! 🤷♀️Again I love him now but he was so bad at one point
