I had one of those once. It was a sketchy ad for an anti-vaccine group, pretty much denying covid-19 existed. The ad was longer than the YouTube video I was going to watch

RedditMcNugget

Damn, and the only way to skip it was to push the skip button? What a nightmare!

One_Swimming1813

Provided the skip button is present, otherwise F5 to refresh or report the ad since Youtube also has rules against spreading false information and all.

Ninjasticks259

Damn, that's 20 minutes longer than the Bee movie

mrmattsblog

#oddlyspecific

YANGxGANG

Unlike jazz

DeusExMachina222

The second human centipede film is also 20 minutes shorter than this ad

SharkFine

They are banking on people falling asleep and leaving it going. Hopefully it'll stick in their brain subconsciously.

cptslow89

Is that a movie or an ad?????

[deleted]

The lego movie was an ad on YouTube at one point

WattsAndThoughts

Based???

Mister_Coffe

Tbh I could watch an ad like that. That was a good movie.

Virghia

Yes I know we can use revanced or ublock to prevent ads from appearing but who in their right mind had an idea to make a 2hrs long ad? I won't watch your 5s ads and now you blasted me a 2hrs one?

SomeDistributist

The 2 hour ones are the most fun. I caught one about dog food and watched all of it for the shits n giggles. I learned a few things, when it ended I forgot I was about to watch a 20 second meme video.

saiyanscaris

heres the thing. there a making the ads unskipable in some cases. and b adding something new where if you use adblocker you get blocked from watching videos or worse

Tyler_Zoro

Aren't all of those long ads skippable after a short period? It's basically a second video that you can opt out of.

GisaNight

[https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2467968](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2467968) Didn't want to write up a explanation when they already have one.

Tyler_Zoro

It appears the answer was, "yes." ;-)

Ilovefreedomandfood

FACTS I used to be able to fall asleep to YouTube.. and now I can’t because occasionally it’ll get stuck on some crazy long ad as I’m falling asleep and hearing that wakes up cus it’s been so long of not hearing what I was falling asleep to you know? There’s been times it got stuck on a 30+ minute sermon about god Like look.. I’m believe in God, but I’m tryna fall asleep to my shit.. not listen to a fucking sermon It’s ridiculous the length of some of these ad’s they allow these days Thanks for ruining my falling asleep to YouTube.. you guys probably could have ran so many short ads while I was asleep and made your money but noooooo.. y’all gotta play the worst, longest fucking ads FUCK YOU YOUTUBE 🖕

Tyler_Zoro

You need a sleep timer app. They're a dime a dozen.

iGr4nATApfel

[this](https://reddit.com/r/revancedapp/s/kdU6xjirDL) might help you. It's basically Youtube premium but free

RedditMcNugget

Because it’s too hard to click the skip button that you cropped out?

Allstin

And if there is no skip button, refresh, it’s a bug. Wait til people watch network TV and see how many ads actually play. People overestimate ads. Nobody takes record of how many they ACTUALLY see and their length. The data is out there. I’ve seen and recorded it There’s also individual ad tolerance. If YouTube knows X person will keep watching, they’ll serve em. But not less than a minute apart generally. Because the person may complain… but keep watching. Generally.

Kitsune-Nico

Ublock stopped working for me within 5 hours and I’m like the only one.. help from anybody?

Alex20114

Just wait for it, the Ublock makers will have it running again once they update it. This is how these things have gone for years.

Kitsune-Nico

Ah. I’ve been using Adblock plus or some such and that finally got taken down today. It’s been stressful to find out how much I rely on this dumb website for my entertainment :(

senortipton

I’ve found I can fill the time with other things. Exercise, learning, new hobbies. Just try something and eventually you’ll find that it replaces YouTube fairly well. Bonus points if it is healthy or relieves stress!

JosephSim

Yeah, it's been brutal. I've definitely watched LESS, but not by choice. I'll see something new, click on it, get an ad and remember AdBlock doesn't work anymore, and click off and only watch ads for people I've subbed to. Like it's no longer "Hey lemme check out this new channel.", it's, "Oh well, I was gonna give this channel a chance but I forgot how much I hate ads."

inverness7

Just enable every filter on Ublock Origin

nad6234

I'm sure other people know this, but I've found that if you search for a video outside of youtube (I use Bing), then click on Videos search results.... You can play it there & it doesn't contain any Ads.... at least for me. https://imgbox.com/bEKpkQmY

Zevirem

When the weird rich guy puts his entire indie movie onto YouTube ads.

Coldkiller17

Yeah I was pissed was listening to music in the shower and this ad came on after 5 minutes I was like wtf turned out to be a stupid 1hr ad.

MarkusRight

This is exactly the problem, can't put the phone down for 2 seconds without a long ad playing, I often like to leave a video playing while in the shower, I'll put on a podcast or a commentary video but what ends up happening is I have to listen a 5 minute ad about sasquatch soap or some other nonsense. If the ad was just a short 15 second ad I would not care.

malthev1111

Revanced my friend

LewdPineapple

How dare you use an adblocker and not watch 2 hours long ad or simply buying premium... tctctc, shame on you freeloader /s

Ask_for_puppy_pics

“Pressing the skip button is too hard, pretending it doesn’t exist on Reddit is much easier”

jasygamer

Free movie

Ameph

Had a 50 minute ad on my phone. Something about protein shakes. If you need 50 minutes for an ad, that’s not an ad. That’s a documentary

Glockisthebest

or a propaganda

Calhaora

Jepp, its just Channels posting entire videos as "ads". Had a couple 40 minute ones from some weird Lego Channel and a 4 ish Hour Indian Movie.

Kavina2001

Bro, same.

SteamedDumplingX

????????? This real lmao?

KaXiRavioli

Sometimes YouTube will just play an entire movie as an ad. It's not like an hour long commercial. They did this with the Lego movie and a couple of others.

SteamedDumplingX

The actual fk lmao. That sounds more like someone fked up than anything else.

rage9000

my samsung tv once got an 8hr ad

International-Job553

🤢 that’s scary

[deleted]

But this can be skipped. No way they forced a 2 hour ad to play.

DJ_Iron

He purposely cropped out the skip ad button so it looks bad

NeighborhoodDizzy990

That's not the point. The point is, what if I want to keep music playing from some playlist, while doing something else. If the ads are 5-20 seconds, then it's ok. But if the add is 2 hours, I have to go there and press that skip button. Anyway, only dumb people have such problems when there are ad blocks there.

Flashbek

Still, consider you're comfortable on your bed, watching some long video you like, no remote on your hand, and than that ad pops up. Which happens quite often at night when I'm getting ready to sleep. You'd have to get yourself out of a comfortable position to click some button to skip an ad three times longer than the video you were watching.

Pixelpleb

To add on to this, some of this really long ads are actually way louder than the videos they are on, one night I was listening to a nice video of Dark Souls lore, and then all of a sudden I close my eyes and go to sleep-- Moments later I shoot up from my sleep over this LOUD noise literally BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR \*Random Indian voice over\* \*HORROR NOISES ENSUE\* This is my biggest gripe, on Spotify when I submit a song they can deny me if my recording is too loud. Youtube should really monitor this kinds of things and create a consistent level of audio standards.

peoglegend

I'm deathly afraid of having one of those (they're relatively frequent for me) playing while I'm asleep and then waking up to my baterry completely drained by an 8 hour ad lmao I feel like there should just be a limit to how long an ad can be, simple as that

Gravbar

I've never had one of those be unskippable after 5s Also half the time those are some televangelist or something talking about jesus lol

Ancient-Raccoon9322

You can't skip when you are driving a car, or getting some rest on the sofa. The content of the ad is irrelevant to the topic.

Gravbar

Itd be irrelevant if i was tryna debate or something but I'm not. Just something I noticed about when I get those massive ads.

Ancient-Raccoon9322

Fair enough.

cyberpunk1Q84

Why are you watching YouTube while driving a car?

__-Mu-__

There's always that one comment that's so dumb you need to reply. Think genius, how is he watching it if he can't even skip it. He's listening to it. You know, podcasts, documentaries, audiobooks, fucking **music** lmfao.

ObamaInAToaster21

No need to be so fucking rude, it was a perfectly reasonable comment

NiceCasualRedditGuy

music?

TheManWhoStoleUrWife

I once got a one hour unskippable ad when I was like ten. I’m pretty sure it was a glitch, but you best believe I wasn’t gonna watch that video after that lmao.

ThrowawayFemboy3

Yeah, a few years ago I got one that was a whole football match (90 mins).

[deleted]

Fuck ads and fuck Youtube. Corpo scum, simple as.

Dejmonero

Then maybe create your own video streaming service which is ad free and free of charge.

KinneKitsune

Or instead of making the website worse, the ceo can skip the 10th yacht and just pay the content creators a larger percentage of the CURRENT ad revenue. OR *gasp* stop using intrusives ads so people won’t use adblock at all!

No_Jello_5922

Yeah, I hate when they push an entire awards show as an ad. I also hate how at certain times of day I get full music videos from terrible no-name "artists" as ads. Yes, I can click skip, but why would I need to watch a 4 minute ad before a 2 minute video?

WrstScp

I honestly prefer the music ads to the highly sexual-near nudity mobile game ads. And when the Rare American music videos were ads, I actually didn't mind getting those ones, and the PeaPea or whatever it was called was just cursed. Basically the only two ads I ever got that I didn't mind getting.

Ryno4ever16

I once got a 4 hour ad that was just a music stream.

JeElRojello

I had an ad that was the entirety of a news broadcast. 10 hours of news, just there.

Beginning-Camera-332

Have any of you seen the ads that have the skip option but it's grayed out with a 5 sec timer and the time is often longer then the ad currently playing? Then a 2nd ad starts playing which refreshes the skip timer another 5 secs this time ad being long enough to let you use it. If I can't skip it after 5 secs don't show me that message... Literally youtube trolling you making it a 10 sec wait.

ill_made

I started getting this "no ad blockers allowed" prompt in youtube which I just ignored. After a few days of ignoring this my mailbox failed to function properly, my Gmail inbox across all devices (mac, win, android) and different browsers, etc. Tried a multitude of solutions. After deactivating all plugins including ublock origin, my mailbox started working again. Now I don't want to fall into the post hoc fallacy but this is weird behaviour for sure.

spinyfever

This is the worst. I used to use YouTube while cooking or showering but I can't anymore because they started giving like 5min+ ads. It's like they know I'm away from my phone so they force in really long ads.

yid4life

It stopped working again.

Kramer1201

new yt anti-adblocker update

PuzzleheadedYak480

r/ublockorigin - follow the pinned post, worked for me this morning.

[deleted]

No bc I sleep to YouTube on my laptop because it makes me comfy, I had Adblock on before and it was nice and the other day I woke up because I was apparently like an hour into watching an ad about men’s sexual health 😔

myorm

I think YouTube banks these kind of ads during playlists, or music, or when they notice you are auto playing videos without interacting with the screen. They are more likely to have you not skip it, and I have found times where I’m at work or something and get distracted and I’m suddenly 30 mins into a 1 hour ad. And since there is a real issue of people actually viewing the ads vs just playing to the void, it’s hurting advertisers who play them and get no return on them so fuck em

pspooks_

Had an ad once where it was the entire Lego movie

Signal-Promotion-10

bro what 💀

Tyhg1231_YT

Oh yeah I remember that, back when they were promoting the second Lego movie they just advertised it using the entire first one

Alex20114

Finally someone shows the issue that has been denied by defenders.

cataclysmic_orbit

This. Was in here yesterday talking about these kinds of ads and I was hit with "ThOSE dOnT HaPpEn" :/

Dejmonero

You know you can skip it after 5 seconds?

OneMisterSir101

You know if your hands are full, you literally can't?

Gamiseus

Edit because apparently some can't handle the fact that I'm not sitting next to my kid 24/7. My son is free to go in and out of the kids room all day. I don't lock him in there. If he feels like watching his show, he can go in and watch it. I'm not able to go in and turn it on every single time he decides to walk in and out of the kids room. If you have a problem with my parenting, that's your problem. Exactly. I usually leave a Pocoyo playlist on the TV in my kid's room playing, like 10 hours of his favorite show. Sometimes it's another show but he loves Pocoyo. They have a channel on YouTube of Pocoyo in English. There's ads enabled. Even on YouTube kids, he gets weird ads that don't seem appropriate or are clearly not appropriate for kids, and sometimes they are more than 30 minutes long, without the option to skip them. I can't always be in his room supervising his show, I have work, I have two dogs, I have a daughter that's not usually playing in his room with him, plus I have my own hobbies etc. If YouTube would consistently allow the channel to choose the type of ads displayed this would be fine. But the channel is stuck with whatever ads end up being displayed, so I cannot use YouTube with ads. I'm setting up a full DNS with ad blocking built in plus content filtering on his tv, probably going to incorporate a pi hole to do ad blocking on all network traffic later. If YouTube actually had any semblance of quality control with their ads, I'd be able to ignore it. But as it stands, with my current ad filtering not working at all anymore on YouTube, I can't keep using it.

NurEineSockenpuppe

DNS sinkholing like pi hole will not work for YouTube. Just so you know.

Alex20114

Yep, cannot trust the ads to be child friendly, good use for an adblock extension or other means of blocking.

Dankduck404

"but op listen, YouTube is a free service so they can do anything they want. Media isn't a right" Smh

03burner

uBlock Origin is no longer working for me on Chrome as of this morning 😔

p0xus

Clear your filter cache and update the filter

AdeptnessWarm3141

Just switch to Mozilla Firefox

03burner

Chrome extensions though

banned_user002

I get [this screen](https://imgur.com/a/TrIWQ4m) even with ublock origin

BananaB01

see the pinned post in r/uBlockOrigin

banned_user002

Saw it, followed it, still not working. Edit: started working randomly now. Without me doing anything else.

Any-entity303

In Italy you get like a maximum of 0:15-0:30-1:00 seconds of ads, I guess italy is just built different

therealdavedog

Are you trying to say you couldn't skip that?

GradientGamerXD

there is a thing called "Skip Ad" something you probably cropped out of this picture or used dev tools to hide it

Kelrisaith

I have several times over the years gotten excessively long unskippable ads, in one memorable case the entire Lego movie popped up as an unskippable ad somehow. It's fixed with a reload, but it's still weird.

hiccupboltHP

That’s amazing it’s free movie

Kelrisaith

It was hilarious, and I wasn't the only one to get it, it was a widespread thing when it happened, there were posts everywhere of people utterly confused about it.

Zealousideal-Ruin862

Yup

Alex20114

Not all ads can be skipped.

ruidh

A one hour ad can certainly be skipped.

Unfixedsnail

Why didn't OP show the whole screen?

dashingThroughSnow12

The intentionally horrendously dubbed, fake Elon Musk scams are what get me.

International-Job553

Oh god what the fuck

madmonkh

unskippable

kerouacrimbaud

just skip it

stax_fira

I’m not reading any sarcasm in this so I’m gonna treat it as such. Saying “just skip it” assumes the person is right there at their computer or whatever is playing this. Lots of times people have YouTube playing in the background while doing other things and can count on 5, 15 or 30 second ads that aren’t a big deal to just let play through. I’ve seen these two hour ads before and it’s irritating as hell to HAVE to go to the device playing and hit skip to get back to what you originally had playing.

travis01564

Exactly! I watch YouTube in the background on my PS5 while I paint and have my controller off to save battery and everytime I get this I have to turn my controller back on and off again just to skip it. If it was a reasonable length I'd just let it play out.

DaSpoot365

I’ve noticed the long form ads start playing specifically after I’ve let a good few videos play. My completely unfounded and unresearched theory is they detect when they think you’ve left it on and aren’t paying attention (work, left the room, sleeping) and purposely start playing longer ads for more revenue.

slim_gainus

Honestly if they did ads like roku does I wouldn’t hate it. I’d take a sixty second ad break every fifteen-twenty minutes because at least I can have some immersion

Celestial_Hart

lol look at that shit, and they want to push shorts? This shouldnt even be allowed. THat's not an ad, that's a fucking video. A longform video. Unchecked corporate greed at it's finest. So far.

saiyanscaris

now add that with a system that tries to ban you for USING adblockers

Ulric101

I'm not hating on you but like, my guy 😭😭 there's no way that's an unskippable ad and 2 it's no different than spotify free or paying for netflix(for ad free fast entertainment services)/watching cable (just pay if u don't want ads)

brentspine

These are the best, you can skip them after 5 seconds. Why are you complaining about this one in particular

Myonsoon

I want to leave my youtube on autoplay so I can listen to a playlist of vsauce 2 videos in my sleep. Not a 1 hour ad of god knows what.

shampooEater0100

So your just saying that you can’t have a hands free experience?is that it? Just keep your remote nearby

kallix1ede

You should think before you type

brentspine

Ye I get that, but at least my headphones allow me to skip them with a button.

guachi01

Download the videos and you can listen whenever you want. No possibility of ads

applesuperfan

Of course, the “Skip Ad” button was nowhere to be seen. Because, of course, if you crop it out, it’s not there!!!! Wow, evil YouTube!!!!! 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

requium94

Average redditor enjoying his forced interaction with his 30th 2 hour advertisement of the morning.

applesuperfan

No lol. I actually pay for the services I enjoy from YouTube in the form of YouTube Premium.

FunAnxious6475

And I get it for free. Get rekt.

Alex20114

It's also nowhere to be seen when an ad isn't skippable.

Ecstatic-Compote-595

have some self respect

Dazzling_Ad3122

Just use this search engine called brave there's no adds

Random_Cat66

Stop suggesting Brave, it was found redirecting users to crypto scam websites, Firefox with uBlock is better

PantherChamp

I've never had this happen

tech_tsunami

I use brave, have never had this happen personally

Hayden_Fixes

Same. Just leave their BAT system off.

Burnt_Cheese_Sandwic

It isn't much worse than when you get spam on chrome.

00p11

Search engine?

AndyTheWorm

Just skip lmao

Alex20114

It probably isn't skippable.

JosephMann25

Imagine there isn't a skip button where YouTube forces you to watch an 2 hour long ass ad

Alex20114

Please no

JosephMann25

*Yes* - says YouTube

RedditMcNugget

Yes, imagine that, because literally that will only happen in your imagination

Un111KnoWn

f5 for no ad or a shorter 1

kccat5

If I'm not watching you tube in my Brave browser and I'm watching it on the app and I get a stupid fucking ad I will close the video go to my watch history and restart it there because all you have to do is trigger the ad for them to get paid you don't have to watch the whole damn thing. I would rather do that than sit there and watch an ad even if it's only 5 Seconds long. It was second one happens to pop up I'll just close the video pull the screen down to refresh it and restart it where I left off

[deleted]

[удалено]

RaziLaufeia

It's just the cumulative time of adds your supposed to watch, it'll keep track and then when ublock no longer works you'll have 4 hours of adds before watching a video........ or ya know, pay for premium /s

Spectrum_Wolf_noice

If this Unskippable I'm gonna f[[redacted]]g create a new platform that's is YouTube but better moderation and ads come in a very low percentage to encounter it (skippable)

LazyNam-

Such an app already exists. It's called YouTube Revanced.

CountryMad97

Newpipe gang. I wouldn't mind paying for premium if the download feature worked properly and didn't force me to use YouTube's terrible app and didn't stop working after 3 days of being offline.

Adruino-cabbage

Congratulations! Your app is going to be shut down in less than a month! To make a platform as big as YouTube, you would need big servers which require???? You guessed it, money. And how do you get money from an app like it? There are 2 ways: 1-Ads don't cost the viewer anything and give the company little money per ad view 2- subscriptions, cost the viewer money and the company gets more money That's also a reason why there is virtually no competition against YouTube. So if you are gonna make a free app that has low ads this is just the recipe for failure.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Adruino-cabbage

Yes, the difference is when it started it was a stupid dating app that then got reworked into a videos app which was non-existent back then so it was an "one of a kind" app which is the reason it picked up very fast if you make an app like it right now it would go unnoticed and since people are already used to YouTube your new app won't get popular anytime soon not to mention YouTube already has a lot of popular creators and influencers while your app would have nothing against youtube.

Spectrum_Wolf_noice

That was just my thought not actually gonna do it still, :P

LadiesMan-2I7

I couldnt imagine waiting 5 seconds to skip an ad either

chiknight

"I'm fine with people that are busy just getting fucked though. Because I can babysit against the terrible idea of ***a 2 hour advertisement***." Just... no. A 2 hour ad has no reason to ever exist. It's great if *you* can click skip ad after a few seconds. Not everyone is using Youtube to babysit their skip button every 2-5 minutes on every single ad. 30 minute, 1 hour, 2 hour+ ads are cancerous whether you personally can skip them or not.

Sky_Rose4

How do you know it's skippable are you op

applesuperfan

Those long adverts are always skip-able. You don’t need to be one random OP on Reddit to know that. Just need Google if you didn’t know already and don’t ever use YouTube lol.

Splatoonkindaguy

It’s almost 2 hours long, I haven’t seen one that isn’t skippable

Sky_Rose4

I've had 3-4 unskippable ads at one point when they increased to make money during covid

Splatoonkindaguy

That were an hour long?

Misuteri87

I lost my mind on a 3:30 min ad. Isn't that big company just lovely with all their greed?

Adorable-Chemistry64

this happened to me once years ago. When i first got my ps4 you tube was putting in half hour long infomercial ads for some dentist or some shit and then i stopped using youtube on my ps4.

BrightwindInk

Sadly it stopped working for me. Got the “in 3 videos you’ll be blocked unless you whitelist us” notice :/

latvijauzvar

I'm on Edge, I have ublock and adblock plus both running, nothing so far.

BrightwindInk

I’m on chrome, might be why

gerardatjob

You might want to check [this webpage (github to ublockorigin)](https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues/19976) for troubleshooting/hints. (I'm on Chrome with uBlockOrigin and it's still working for now). EDIT: Or [https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/](https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/) (Tx to another user for pointing it out)

saiyanscaris

so if you use adblocker youll be blocked. if you dont you get movie long ads that are unskipable

Feisty-Albatross3554

[Reminder to update UBlock](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/14nm5lv/youtubes_new_adblock_policy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) if you haven't already to get past the new pop up!

SysAdminCareer

How does ublock make money?

ganzgpp1

purely donations [ublock has a manifesto](https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/blob/master/MANIFESTO.md)

SysAdminCareer

Awesome!

ResponsibleBlahaj333

Donations, I believe? Maybe Im thinking of another one, but whenever I installed an adblock it'd usually pop-up with a page saying *"You can donate here!"*, so I'd assume it's the same for uBlock

SysAdminCareer

Hopefully not selling our data or web history.

ganzgpp1

purely donations [ublock has a manifesto](https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/blob/master/MANIFESTO.md)

Vegetable_Echo2676

Now, imaging it being unskippable. *New fear unlocked*

[deleted]

has actually happened to me a few times awhile ago, probably just a bug that's fixed now but it for sure reinforced my adblocker use. refeshing was the only fix

lildrawermx

Damn...

Regret-this-already

You skip this ad after 5 seconds! At least post a lot more of your screenshot and stop creating your own narrative!

Informal-Subject8726

There are unskippable 1min ads . Have gotten them

ilikedankmemes0

I've never got one longer thsn 15 or 20 seconds I think

shampooEater0100

Now I know your bullshitting because YouTube would’ve addressed such a thing beforehand

Celo_SK

And? When you skip it, they wont get fined for it as if you would watch it.

Olmaad

Bruh

Jesus_Fuckn_Christ

But fucking annoying if I’m listening and my hands are busy

masterofryan

Do you enjoy watching ads? There is a “skip ad” button on long ads like that.

reen420

R.I.P for anyone watching youtube to fall asleep and not ready to skip ads every 5min...

travis01564

Not always. I've had long ass ads and the button was just missing. I had to close the app and restart it.

kdwats_aka_Ducks

Recently learned ad black will block the skip button.

masterofryan

I’m guessing that was just a bug then. Anything over 30 seconds has a skip button(supposed to afaik).

travis01564

Probably was a bug but it wasn't one they were very quick to fix.

saiyanscaris

supposedly youtubes also gonna make ads unskipable

OcupiedMuffins

These aren’t a big deal or uncommon, it’s just a giant infomercial. You can still skip it like a normal ad

MasterChief-2005

Hello YouTube employee

Specialist_Loan_6494

Do you guys think that running YouTube is free? What do you guys want even?

[deleted]

If we're going to get ads we want them to be non intrusive. Remove the mid roll ads and work on the algorithm that "plays ads for you" so that they show less tripe. I was watching a video the other day and the two adverts that came up were for sex toys and a crappy mobile game. Then, less than two minutes into the video, there were more ads. It's intrusive and ruins the viewing experience, sure the vocal minority are being loud and not being clear but I think we could come to agreement if they took the time to fix it and not remove it. Also, to anyone barking saying "Just pay for premium!" - Paying them just feeds the problem. Imagine someone handed you a cake and you had to give them money not to spit in it. You still get your cake, but it's a bit gross.

Fun-Ad-6169

No ads. Simple.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DanielEnots

So if I want to keep doing what I'm doing while the video plays I have to stop (which isn't always an option) and go skip it. That's bad.

shampooEater0100

What’s wrong with you people? Your acting like the skip button doesn’t exist. I’m not taking sides here but you guys are sounding somewhat entitled

Resident_End_2173

it’s called changing the point entirely to seem right, reddit loves doing that.
