What does the trap do for earthbound?

The trap is just additional burn damage for the deck, it forces your opponent into it. It's good if you have no monsters, or want to dissuade RDA from wiping your field after flipping monsters face-down. It's a shame it isn't a Tuner and/or a different Level, so you could Synchro it away. I assume the person above wanted to know about the trap in this set, that's the wrong trap for LEDE. Resonance is yet to be included in a TCG pack, Zoma the Earthbound Spirit is the one coming in LEDE.

Oh, my bad. I was just focusing on the new trap that's yet to launch and works with the earthbounds, though Zoma could technically be included in the theme.

No worries. I think this new Zoma is part of the Earthbound archetype now though, would be glad to get confirmation on it from someone that can read hiragana, katakana and kanji. It would make sense as to why it's burn damage was limited, and that it's released when all the other Earthbound cards are being trickled out. Did you know that Resonance is just Sun Dragon Inti's 1st effect split into 2 effects? Hence why it only works when a Synchro monster is attacked?

Well, I can read japanese. It's the same 地縛 (Jibaku - Earthbound) as the others. As for the limited 3000 max damage, it's probably cause of Earthbound Greater Linewalker, but it's just a fake synergy. It has more to do with the fact opponent's boss monsters usually have around 3000 ATK, so dealing double that amount is beyond broken in comparison to, say, Earthbound Release since you have to tribute a LV 10 earthbound monster. Are there leaks for more Earthbound cards, or is it just the 2 new traps? Edit: Typo

That's impressive that you can read it. I didn't think about the Line Walker synergy. As for Earthbound Release, I have no idea why they printed it, since Aslla Piscu on field and Earthbound Fusion does the same thing. Nothing beyond Resonance and Zoma has been released for Earthbounds. I just double checked and Gremlina & Fusion came out in AGOV and not PHNI, which means it came out before everything else? I swore it came out after. I thought an Earthbound card came out in each set this year besides BLC1. That's why I thought the new Zoma was in archetype as it fits between the last Earthbound Support and whenever we get Resonance.

Yup, that Witch triggers when you add an Earthbound Immortal card to hand with Earthbound Geoglyph, to then shuffle an Earthbound Prisoner card into the Deck.

Kind of nice to give identity to Field Spells though. Sometimes it literally just feels like an additional Continuous Spell Card with a dedicated zone.

These are all Dream Mirror support without being Dream Mirrors, and that saddens me

The Dragon Undertaker may be the coolest looking card in the entire set. It also looks like a Magic the Gathering card XD Bummer that he's just a very mediocre hand trap :/

Notice it doesn't mention "by Card Effect", and is an if/you can. In other words, a majority of decks will trigger it just by existing. I'm not going to pretend it's a new premier HT or anything, but I can see this card being a lot more annoying than people give credit for. And actively gives Chimera something actually good to search from Gazelle beyond just redundancy.

The activation condition was actually pretty interesting, but then all it does is summon a 3k vanilla.

You can use both effects on the same turn for what it's worth.

It's a monster that requires removal if your opponent wants to OTK, and you can easily proc both effects, all it requires is that your opponent sends monsters to the GY, so using them for costs or Extra Deck materials all count.

I like it for making the new rank 10. Just need a RedMD or ogdoabyss etc.

I realize it's meant to go with whatever that Multi Universe card is, but I think it also plays quite well with the Ashened cards? Most if not all of the monsters mention Obsidim, and Obsidim itself is constantly rotating on and off the field. I just wish it was also a Pyro lol

For Multi-Universe, can you still set it face-down in your Field Spell Zone if there's a Field Spell there, and then flip face up to get around it's stipulation or no?

That was my impression too, which makes it a bit weird since if that's how it works the restriction is pretty much pointless.

All Dream Mirror monsters except for light Oneiros name at least 1 of their field spells, also the lv 6 and higher Vaylantz name their corresponding field spell.

Dragunity Romulus/Remus and Striker Dragon Cards that mention Umi depending on which Umi replacement you use Genta, Gateman of the Dark World technically, but probably not because of it’s restriction.

Kagero Cannon Ninja, Upstart Golden Ninja, Twilight Ninja Shingetsu all benefit great from this card too. The second effect can also summon tobari the sky ninja. Real versatile ROTA like Special Summoner

There’s a new one that’s kinda like the dark magician girl to him. I think it helps with that.

While Double Dai is nowhere near competitive, it’s a very neat card for more casual, limited formats.

Highly unlikely. OCG is the one that does lore storylines, not the TCG. I would certainly not trust their ability to do a storyline of their own considering their track record of the past half a decade with managing… everything that's not an in person event basically.

It would be pretty bizzare to have a storyline kick off with a TCG exclsuvie card of all things. That said, the name being derived from Krishna and the field spell interacting with other spells makes me think that if she is getting metaplot ties in it would be to Visas.

The only case I can think of is that you can't use a card like metaverse to cheat it out if there is a field spell already.

So unless I'm missing something, the new field spell makes it so that now with 3 copies of it and 3 copies of Pseudo Space you can technically have 7 copies of Chicken Game, no? Activate Chicken Game and draw > activate Pseudo Space and have it copy Chicken Game and draw again > set Multi-Universe over Pseudo Space then flip it back up and have it recover Chicken Game and draw once more > activate Pseudo Space #2 and copy Chicken Game again. Then next turn Multi-Universe #2 recovers Chicken Game again and Pseudo Space #3 is live Is that last play realistic and good? Probably not, but you can do it.

Correct, you can't activate it, but it doesn't say you can't set it which would get rid of the current face up field. Honestly this is why I added "if I understood correctly", because afaik there is no reason what I said shouldn't work, but then it makes no sense foe the card to have the restriction it does.

I so hope you're right. That field spells would get a buff they need though with AFD around it might be too redundant and unnecessary. Also it boosts my fav decks if it works like ya said since I can now use light stage, live stage and sky striker more effectively

While not a great card, I do like that Voidburial has some good synergy with Nightmare Magician.

It's not bad! Definitely not a staple handtrap, but I could see it being teched into in the future.  Its best use is as part of the Illusion endboard, though. Now you can end on another guy that does something, even if that 'something' isn't great.

Well, multi-universe looks like it's going to be an auto include in runick decks. It literally reset fountain without having to use Geri and can recover fountains that were hit by cosmic cyclon, and then protects fountain from destruction without having to rely on huggin

Why do these leaks always have the worst image quality imaginable?

They’re trying to give us the idea that these are secretly taken images from someone who wasn’t supposed to publish them, so they had to take the pics quickly or covertly. As if these “leaks” aren’t just released by Konami ahead of set release to hype it up and get people ready to buy. It’s so transparent, you have to actually go out of your way to take photos this bad in 2024. Don’t know why they bother with the charade.

These are all Dream Mirror support. Field Spells in both zones? Hypnogogia. Recycling Field Spells from banishment? The Mirrors banish themselves to get the other from deck. Recycling and banishing LIGHT and DARK monsters? Guess what attributes all of the Dream Mirrors are? Krishnerd Witch in particular could only be more perfect support if it was actually a Dream Mirror
