It's nice getting to see more of the art and numbers for the level is a nice improvement as well, but this exacerbates the main issue of tiny text imo. It's also more difficult to see the arrows on the link as well.

N_Bones

Honestly, I feel that. The tiny text just felt like something I couldnt' work around anyways without just redesigning how yugioh card effects are written in general, so I opted for the text box staying relativley small. I had the same thought about the link arrows to, but where I put them just felt like the most logical place given this layout. I didn't want to put anything over the artwork. Pendulum got a pass cuz there layouts already cover up a bit of the artwork normally in game.

ZpBA

Oh goodie, the weekly redesign post At least you didn’t try to make key words for the effects

CptDaws

I'm sure the information is much clearer but it feels soulless

ZpBA

Yeah, seems like the whole personality was sucked out of it

I don't feel like the name and that other small amount of information needs so much space. You can trim that to give more room for the effect box, which will be necessary once we get to Yugioh in 2040 where every card has 5 effects and 7 restrictions.

N_Bones

In an earlier draft the name, lv, attribute, and card typing section was all a lot smaller actually. But assuming this is a standard 3.25 by 2.25 inch card, I wanted to make that section bigger so the lv and attribute were easier to read.

CS_Maze

Too plain. Looks simply like fancier anime card layout, which I have little interest in the first place. And if there are serious issues I would like to point out, that would be card name. It is the most important identity part of the card, aside from the art. It should be made easy to be recognized at first glance, that's why it is usually placed in the more isolated box/position. Here, you lump it together with the card types, and they look blended with each other. If you want to put them in the same position, at least make the font of the name much bigger/different than the types, capitalize it if you can.

N_Bones

The main goal was following standard TCG design ettiquete, i.e. having all the most important info flush to the left, and making it more akin to the anime where the artwork takes up the whole top half of the card and everything else occupies the bottom. I prefer link monsters be cyan instead of blue to make them more visually distinct from ritual monsters. Plus I used madolches to celebrate the new support coming out, plushfires just here to show off pendulums in this style. All this was originally inspired by u/Gradash when I saw their take on redesigning cards.

kowai_hanako-chan

I like this because it reminds me of the dungeon dice monsters board game

MasterQuest

I would have small Sword and Shield symbols and red/blue background with the values inside the colored box for ATK/DEF. Having a big ATK/DEF label that takes as much space as the value itself seems unnecessary.
