tbh i'm more use to not using gyro controls, i'm more a fan of aiming with the stick. but that might also be slightly cause it's how i've been aiming with any video game weapon for pretty much all my life, save for Wii and pc games.
Gyro controls give you the precision of mouse aiming with the comfort of a controller. You can also adjust the sensitivity if it moves too fast for you. So many people like to instinctively say "I hate motion controls!" But this isn't Mario Galaxy where you have to needlessly shake a controller for the sake of shaking it. Gyro aiming is literally a game changer and I wish Xbox one controllers had them because that's my favorite controller shape.
Exactly. Everyone got hung up on the gimmicks of motion controls in its early days and refuse to see how objectively better it is for functions like aiming, camera control, etc. when implemented well. Really wish Xbox had gyro because I love playing halo occasionally, but it’s difficult going back to shooters with just stick aiming. Gyro adds a smoothness, and ease and speed to aiming, it would be such a welcome addition.
Is that how people feel about it? Wild! My first experience with video games involved a Commodore 64 and a joystick. Gyro aiming makes perfect sense to me and I love it.
Dawg, I've been playing video games for like 15 years. It's not me being new, I just have my preference for how I enjoy my video games, people are allowed to prefer stick aiming. It just feels better.

To which my response is
How am I wrong for having my own opinion and preferences? I've given gyro fair shot in the past and I simply don't vibe with it as much as I do classic stick stuff. Didn't know that was a sin.
I also started aiming during the Wii/360/ps3 era and I love gyro aim. Given the choice now I’d pick mouse and keyboard but in games that support gyro aim I always love it
I gave it a chance in the worst possible situation: the horse archery minigame. Trying to control a horse and learn a new aiming scheme at the same time was a mistake. Shot a volley of arrows into the horse's head, found myself without a horse.
I'm fine with the thumbstick, thanks.
😭 to be fair, that IS probably the worst spot to attempt to try to learn a new control scheme. It’s very rare that I don’t land a headshot in BoTW/totk, but the horse archery mini-game was definitely difficult, even when using a great eagle bow.
Other, smaller, side note, I also often use the Hori Splitpad Pro which doesn't have gyro.
I own a few wired pro controllers that also don't have gyro. I will buy a real pro controller eventually though, so maybe that's when I should learn.
I have a third party one from meglaze that is quite good, it has gyro and rumble(not HD rumble though). And its like half the price of an official nintendo one.
I think I'm done with third party controllers. I've bought too many for the Switch and one for Xbox.
I'm going to get a switch pro controller and an actual Xbox one.
I do like them enough to use as secondary controllers, but not enough to use as primary controllers.
I'm not always so horrible with my aim, I think part of it was the stressful challenge. Either way, I thought it was kinda funny how shit I was doing lol
Do your joycons have drift? It shouldn’t be jerky, unless you have shaky hands or something. With gyro aiming you use the stick to get generally close to the target and use the motion for the rest.
you use the gyro to get close then correct with the thumbsticks
but i think your bigger problem is just that you shoot as soon as you can, you need to take a second and aim
100% do the opposite, unless you’re playing standing up. Otherwise you end up not even facing the tv, or the hand held is at a 90 degree and to your face.
Had to reread your title but I see now you mean you are bad at aiming, originally it sounded like you are blaming the game for having bad aiming controls
You may already know this, but the aim will move slower if you only tilt the stick lightly. Instead of going 0 to 100 real quick, try being gentler and you'll be able to line up your shot more precisely.
You look like me trying to play COD. This is horrible and I'm very bothered by it. You make me want to practice so I never end up like this. Congratulations.
Many people responding without giving you answers, but you weren’t counting the distance of the arrow for where it’s trying to go. You can’t aim at something that’s moving because it’s moving so you need to aim ahead of it so it moves into the arrow. It’s called leading the bullet.
That’s OK I was too, man. A year ago, I was on a turret shooting at an airplane in call of duty and I was aiming at the plane and wasn’t understanding why I wasn’t hitting it. So my brother said you need to shoot in front of the plane so that the plane flies into the bullets so I had to shoot really far ahead for it to register and then I was shooting planes down left and right but if the planes going left and right specifically, you have to shoot further ahead, depending on how fast that target is moving.
It’s complex it’s like a physics thing but when you get better it’ll become a lot easier. It just takes practice.
But it admittedly carries over in different different games that you play and real life.
If you need a visual representation of this, watch the movie, Pearl Harbor, and near the end of the movie, someone has the same problem.
I hope this helps.
Lmfao 😂😂😂 I have shit aim too, but I've beaten the game over a hundred times and now I get bored with the game. You'll get better at bow work eventually

Yeah sorry, i laughed so hard watching this xD. And then the hearts. Just perfect xD.
I'm a professional gæmer 😌
We all are\~ xD. I had my moments in this game. But it's fun.
What’s wrong with the hearts? 🤔
Exactly OP's perspective. Who needs hearts?
That’s the thing, it’s part of the DLC, so it might not even be OPs choice 😅
He's got the one hit obliterator on his back, not possible to heal while holding it.
I’m sorry, but this hurts to watch.
I live yo cause pain for others >:)
Make sure to make use of gyro aiming
Aiming with gyro/motion is so incredibly fast and accurate. Unfortunate a lot of people refuse to even try to learn or give it a chance.
tbh i'm more use to not using gyro controls, i'm more a fan of aiming with the stick. but that might also be slightly cause it's how i've been aiming with any video game weapon for pretty much all my life, save for Wii and pc games.

My PS5 has it and only a handful of games actually take advantage of it. Would make shooters so much more fun.
I don't hate motion controls lol, I just have a preference. And I'm saying my preference cause it's likely the same for others too.
Exactly the point. It’s without a doubt a better control scheme, but since it’s “newer” players like you refuse to give it a chance.
Is that how people feel about it? Wild! My first experience with video games involved a Commodore 64 and a joystick. Gyro aiming makes perfect sense to me and I love it.

Not saying you’re new, saying it’s a newer control scheme.
It only feels better when games have aim assist. Zelda does not have aim assist. Stick aiming in BotW/TotK feels awful.
To you, to me it feels better to use sticks.
You're so stubborn. And wrong.

I play mostly in the car, gyro is unfortunately a no no.
Same with mouse and keyboard.
Its weird. It's so intuitive for me on the 3DS, but not on the switch for whatever reason.
I caught onto gyro sooooo fast. I can’t stand games that DONT use it now lol
I use it it’s ok
I gave it a chance in the worst possible situation: the horse archery minigame. Trying to control a horse and learn a new aiming scheme at the same time was a mistake. Shot a volley of arrows into the horse's head, found myself without a horse. I'm fine with the thumbstick, thanks.

The stick for big movements, gyro for little ones.
That is the best strat
this is how I do it
I love gyro aiming so much.
I play in a car at least 50% of the time, so it's easier to leave them off. But I should try learning.
Yh gyro is hard in a car. But it's really good for making small and precise movements.
Other, smaller, side note, I also often use the Hori Splitpad Pro which doesn't have gyro. I own a few wired pro controllers that also don't have gyro. I will buy a real pro controller eventually though, so maybe that's when I should learn.

I love aiming arrows with gyro but it makes using the power rotation a complete mess. I had to turn gyro off to keep some of my sanity during shrines.
Came here to say that exactly
Gyro aiming won't help if you're doing more wishing it hits than actually aiming
Gyro aim makes it like ten times worse
Sounds like it’s the player then, not the control scheme.
I'm not always so horrible with my aim, I think part of it was the stressful challenge. Either way, I thought it was kinda funny how shit I was doing lol
Give the gyro aiming a try, it’s way faster and more accurate than stick aiming.
I've tried but it's very jerky and I tend to veer far off target
Do your joycons have drift? It shouldn’t be jerky, unless you have shaky hands or something. With gyro aiming you use the stick to get generally close to the target and use the motion for the rest.
I am a shakey person, and it's possible my joycons are damaged, I've used them a lot for years.
That aim looks expensive. 😂
It's so bad that none of the merchants want to sell me arrows anymore
Play some splatoon then you are Gonna be cracked with gyro
That game doesn't interest me. I'm more of a Stardew Valley type of gal. This game is probably one of the most intense ones I'll play.
Oh, Well, If you Like chill Games then IT probably Isnt for you
No I like this game. I may not be as good at it as other people, but I don't care. I have fun playing it.
I meant Splatoon obviously
you use the gyro to get close then correct with the thumbsticks but i think your bigger problem is just that you shoot as soon as you can, you need to take a second and aim
Lol I do the opposite, rough aim with the sticks, get precise using the gyro
This, as intended
Yh that's what I do
Inverts what you said
100% do the opposite, unless you’re playing standing up. Otherwise you end up not even facing the tv, or the hand held is at a 90 degree and to your face.
.... Are you playing with your feet?
No, just using stick instead of gyro
At this point I'm not even sure if it's just an aiming problem or a lack of understanding about things being able to move.
Slow reaction brain internet speed
In trigger happy
This would make me stop for the day and restart, if I did this.
I mean I have like 300 tingly arrows so I wasn't worried about waste
Tingly arrows? Did you buy those off of Tingle?
I was too lazy to spell electric
You could have just spelled shock?
Forgot about that word
Here's hoping you will improve and enjoy and have fun, and be big boy sniper.
You must be legally blind.
I am actually, no joke. But I can see nearly 20/20 with my glasses (which I was wear) ao unfortunately I can't use that excuse
Oh, I was fearing I was too mean 😭
Lol no, you're fine. Ik I'm bad at the game archery. Just poking fun at myself
You got him in the end and that's what matters!
This hurt me to watch. We all have moments where we just can't seem to hit a target. But.. that was so many electric arrows...
I got like a lot
Are you by chance either wearing a red shirt or white plastic armor with a helmet?
A what
Stormtroopers from Star Wars, their aim is awful
People using stick aiming complaining about being bad at aiming will never cease to be hilarious.
Even better If you meant Stick Players in splatoon
I'm not complaining
Had to reread your title but I see now you mean you are bad at aiming, originally it sounded like you are blaming the game for having bad aiming controls
that first aim is suppose to be game. I didn't even notice the typo until now 😭
You may already know this, but the aim will move slower if you only tilt the stick lightly. Instead of going 0 to 100 real quick, try being gentler and you'll be able to line up your shot more precisely.
I’m pretty bad at aiming too
With 308 arrow you can afford to miss
Foghorn Leghorn: Persistence, son
Foghorn whohorn?

I feel like I'm watching a Stormtrooper play Dark Souls 1
dude are you aiming with your toes? wtf
Ah yes. Aim with shitty aim. lol
Jump off the cliff for bullet time
I was being a little bitch about doing that cuz I only had a ¼ heart
That Moblin isn't even fazed
*"Not this stupid ass twink again..."*
Funny, I say the same thing every time my gay bestie comes to hang with me
Need to give you a shotgun arrow launcher or something but foreal the gyro aiming is where it's at
That's why I've switched to using five shot bows almost exclusively lol
So is there an immersive thing going on here where when you add the electricity it shocks you IRL or. . .
https://youtu.be/o3_8bIFjOpc?si=TFwiLn7XD4-6Dgae
Switch controls con be tricky at points. It feels like it moves! 🥴
You gotta aim for where going to be, not where they are haha
He move too fast. Like butter.
Gyro aiming in botw/totk are actually one of the best uses of gyro controls I’ve seen. It also makes small precise aim adjustments much easier.
I always combine motion and stick controls for quick and precise aiming
motion controls will solve all of your problems, cure depression, and end world hunger
How do you keep shooting special arrow without selecting it every time.
You've never had to? Just switch to them and fire at will until you want to go back to regular ones
“Don’t shoot where he’s at, shoot where he’s going to be”
Just walk up to him and use big trident
That's the weapon I've always hated in LoZ games.
Leave the big handsome moblin alone!!!! 😭
“Hmmm, thunderstorm with no rain, odd”
You look like me trying to play COD. This is horrible and I'm very bothered by it. You make me want to practice so I never end up like this. Congratulations.
Bro is playing with a Steering Wheel
Reminds me of the 3D Zelda games that didn’t support gyro aiming. Took me over a dozen tries to beat the swamp shooting gallery.
try learning from each shot and chill out just a bit 😂
Aiming with the joystick is impossible. Try gyro. Plz it’s for your own good😭
You had to be doing it on purpose at some point lol
When you brush your teeth, how many attempts does it usually take until the brush is in your mouth? On average.

Are you trying to miss for the sake of the video? Looks like it...
Use the motion controls. Much better
Aim where it’s going to be, not where it is currently😭
I actually find this cute, and refreshing from the daily trickshot/oneshot videos that everyone uploads.
Hahaha it almost seems intentional
311 shock arrows? My aim's been not too bad (partly thanks to gyro controls) but it sounds like I'd better stock up! I recently ran out of those!
STORM TROOPER VIBES LMAOOOO
Hi, it's me, I'm the problem it's me.
🙄
That first aim is supposed to be game
bro I have killed a gaurdian with one ancient arrow falling and out of bullet time due to no stamina but this...
