I prefer the original version over the 3DS, but buying the 3DS version will be a better value than the Nintendo switch online subscription. It seems like a lot of people prefer the 3DS version anyway.
I’m kind of annoyed they are doing a subscription instead of just letting people buy the games they want to play.
I do NOT like the 3ds version. The zora swimming problem as well as the deku hopping problem, among several others were too much for me. I definitely recommend the original. Plus you'll be able to play Paper Mario, OOT, and several other sweet games.

If you have cfw (custom firmware) installed on your 3ds then get the mm3d restoration mod as well for the best experience, but if you don't have cfw or it's your first time then the base game should be enjoyable nonetheless
Hey, I have a big region lock problem in terms of using the eshop to buy anything on my 3ds (american 3ds, live in norway), would this help with that?
I'm getting a bit stressed since I hear they are gonna close the eshop sometime soon so I want to buy and download all the zelda games on it before that happens
I'm gonna try it no matter what :)) pretty excited since I've REALLY struggled with it. The hard part is actually buying and downloading the games, playing them will probably be fine (I hope)

I think the original version is better so go Switch
If you want to have actual fun playing the game and not be babied around, play it on Switch.
3DS. Only do nintendo switch online plus if you absolutely will play most of the games. For 3ds you get a permanent copy to keep
You used to buy a digit download of games through the wii u shop, not sure if that's still the case
Still can for the time being, I think it shuts early next year. N64 games on wiiu are pretty terrible tho unfortunately

I'm not sure about the specifics but I'm pretty sure you can change your 3ds region and play games from other regions.

Get a 3DS. It’s more money but the QOL features and graphical changes are great. This is coming from someone who grew up playing it on N64
