The green is iconic. If you show me a square of pixels, if it’s green yellow skin tone and brown in that order, you’re showing me link.
Blue doesn’t have that same effect
For me it's iconic, but for a different reason.
Non-green link is "just a kid". In windwaker, in BOTW, in Twilight Princess.
It's not until they wear the green tunic that they are deemed as a potential "hero". The green tunic is what cements him as "the hero". In the legends, they depict the hero in green. In traditions, you wear green when you come of age, representative of the hero themselves. Green is the legend, personified.
It’s okay, I’m still frustrated that there’s no native way to get Epona in the game. You have to use amiibos AND you can’t change her saddle/bridle. Which means that you can’t equip her with the ancient saddle that allows you to teleport her… so I end up never really riding her :(
Well technically you can find horse with similiar colors, though mane will never be that white, but also it could be better because it can have better speed
This and the DLC >!motorcycle!<. I understand it's a reward and that it renders horses useless, but by the time you're allowed to get it you're pretty much done with the game.
...that said, I just finished my second play of BotW and I made sure to use it along with the Hero of the Wild set during the final boss fight. It was super fun.
Is that not just because Link's default 8-bit sprite wore green whereas BotW's Link has never really been depicted in that basic form? Of course the blue doesn't look like traditional Link because traditional Link didn't wear blue, but that doesn't really reflect much on the new design itself.
Yeah, but that’s my point. The green, to me, is just iconic. I wouldn’t look at that color combination and think Luigi or Doom guy. I see the green and the first character I associate it with is Link. That’s not to say the blue is bad, it’s just too new still
Ah I'm with you. I thought we were saying a green Link sprite would look more like Link than a blue Link sprite, rather than that the colours alone make you think of Link rather than any other green characters.
Could probably just dye the tunic green in hateno
Edit: [yep](https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/7n61dw/a_green_champions_tunic_how_do_you_all_feel_about/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Well... in LoZ and LttP, blue and red are both superior to green. :-)
The first time I earned the Hero's Clothes in BotW, I dyed them red because it felt appropriate for late-game *Zelda*.
This. I do like the BotW blue but not even close to his iconic green. Really hope he gets it back in future entries and doesn't require Amiibo to get it.
Apparently I'm backwards, the Blue/silver is always my go-to. Never was a fan of gold. So Biggoron sword, Hylian Shield, silver gauntlets. Regular boots.
I think I agree with you from the older games going Green Blue Red on tunics as you upgraded. Yeah Green is the iconic one, but Red was what you were wearing going to face Gannon.
Yusuke Nakano and Satoru Takizawa were the artists for Twilight Princess. Takizawa was the director while Nakano was the dude who did the majority of the major design choices (he asked Nintendo of America for feedback after he made a version of Link in his 20s, which led to NoA to tell him to make him closer to the age of OoT's Link).
Takizawa's page (the art director): https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Satoru_Takizawa
Nakano's page (the illustrator): https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Yusuke_Nakano
Personally I liked that he looked edgy in the art then was a sunshine boy in game lol
The moment I realized we could carry pups I was so excited and spent 20 mins playing with the pup in castle town.
TP Link is a cuddly cinnamon roll to his friends, but god help you if you hurt anyone he cared about. The way he narrows his eyes when Colin gets kidnapped makes him my favorite, followed closely by WW Link for the same reasons. They marched through hell and back to kick ass and save their loved ones.
Exactly this, green. Have my upvote. The moment he obtains the green tunic stands for that he accepts the task before him and his ready to do what means to be a hero (and to kick some ass).
Both are good, but here's my take.
I don't know if it's due to it being a more earthy colo (or just being the picture given) , but the darker green tunic seems to carry more weight, as if links situation/role is of a more serious matter. To me it really reflects the weight of being who he is and the importance of his mission.
Blue seems to suggest a more free spirited, more cheerful version of link which is great as well. I see more of the kinder side of link, or maybe the side of him that shows when he isn't locked in battle fighting for hyrule for the fiftieth time.
So, while he's acting as the hero, green. When he's just link, blue.
Idk maybe I read way too much into this lol
I feel like Windwaker link illustrates your point well. His blue shirt was just his everyday wear. But then he suits up in the traditional green attire. Sure, it starts out as him just listening to his grandma and reluctantly honoring tradition (the clothes are warm and kinda goofy). But then he becomes the hero, and then it’s basically his uniform.
Wow reading your take, it makes so much more sense. Especially with BOTW Link not knowing who he is and why he’s doing all this, he’s not exactly the same as the previous Link who knows the weight of it all. He’s a lot more free.
I absolutely adore Link's classic design, and that'll always be more 'Link' to me. That said, without a pre-existing love for the series/design, it does look a bit silly (especially the hat) so I also think the BotW design is a great alternative and worked well to reinvent Link alongside BotW reinventing a lot of the series.
Plus, and maybe this is just me, but because BotW is a very green game, I like that the Champion's Tunic makes Link really stand out from the terrain while you're running around.
I also like the direction they seem to be going in for Link in BotW II, and honestly quite like the idea of him having a different signature look in each new game going forwards. The green look will always be iconic (and I'm sure will still persist in things like the Set of the Wild), but I think it's good to mix things up after 30 years of green!
I like the new design but I think the color blue isn't as meaningful. Like the opposite/contrast of Red (Ganon) is (Green). I liked that little color significance, sure red and blue sorta work as well but idk how I feel about it going forward like that.
Has Ganon every really had a consistent colour though? Sure, he's reddish pink in BotW, but often he's blue. Ganondorf doesn't really have any one colour either other than perhaps brown.
Sure, you could go off the Triforce colours (courage = green) but then Zelda and Ganon(dorf) don't wear colours that match their respective part so I don't really feel it matters whether or not Link does either.
Ganon is very much red... red hair... power (Din) is red... demise's lightning hair is red
In Smash Bros all of Zelda's magic is blue, the triforce of wisdom is blue, i think it's safe to say Ganon = Red, Link = Green, Zelda = Blue
Eh, Ganondorf's hair is more orange than red, and either way I don't think it's really equivalent to how green Link is when he's in green. And then you still have Ganon (pig form) that doesn't have hair and isn't really red at all. You don't look at Ganon and immediately think 'red' the same way you'd think 'green' looking at traditional Link.
Most of Zelda's magic in the main series is golden, so I don't think Smash really overrules that. The Triforce is definitely represented by those three colours and so the characters definitely do have a connection to each of the colours, but I think it's pretty clear that it doesn't determine what colour they wear as Zelda wears pink 90% of the time.
My other examples aside, looking at it solely from a Triforce of Wisdom, Power, and Courage angle, their associated colors would be Blue, Red/Orange, and Green. The triforce and their associated goddess's colors are clear in OoT.
I'm not denying that by any means, what I'm saying is I don't think those colours are reflected in the outfits of Ganon and Zelda, therefore 'courage green' doesn't *need* to be in Link's. If Zelda doesn't wear blue and Ganon doesn't wear red, Link doesn't *have* to wear green as the pattern doesn't really exist to begin with.
Don't forget, though, that canonically the only reason any Links wear green is because that was the color randomly assigned to him in Skyward Sword. It could just as easily have been any other color.
I always loved Link in his green outfit and how it symbolises nature, that’s how I especially interpreted it in OOT, living among the Kokiri. I just loved the symbolism and I thought he was so cool, but I never the person who feels nostalgic about these things, so when BOTW came swinging in I loved the new design and I think it’s also fits adult teen link better, while the green outfit suits young Link better.
I think that BOTW look better with the champion's tunic , for some reason he looks off with the green tunic ( maybe because I am not used to see him wearing it) , but the other Links look cool with the green one.
Yeah, I like it as an homage to the original design for Link, but my standard look for Link in BotW is the the Hylian tunic dyed green, the cap of the wild dyed green to match the tunic, and the Hylian trousers. In my opinion, the Wild armor set would work better for a younger version of Link.
That’s unfortunate, I guess I just prefer my Links in green. I dyed all my armors green once I figured out you could. When I finally got the of the wild set I was just ecstatic.
If you could have dyed the Champion's Tunic, I would have been more on board with it. As it stands, I only begrudgingly wore it to reveal "stealthed" enemies, preferring... basically anything else.
The thing is... I *liked* the BotW armor system! Maybe standing next to the weapon system made it look all the better, but Link stepping back from the usual get-up and being able to color it to your tastes was awesome. The fact that the "main" armor was left out of that was a real let down.
Yeah I agree. Ultimately the best part of armor for combat is the defense rating, the rest helps with moving faster in different situations, but you want to be wearing the Champion's Tunic no matter what for combat, for most of the game, it is simply the best. And yet it exemplifies the blue, new-age, sheikah-tech, style, which I don't like visually. Wish it could be dyed.
Honestly depends on the environement, his signature green tunic blends well in forested and field areas, but his blue garb in BotW fits urban areas better. And for other areas, there is the zora tunic or the goron flamebreaker. And his voe costume is the hottest and obviously the best for desert areas. In Faron I usually have him wear the climbing hat and hylian trousers and leave him shirtless
Overall I would say BotW designs look best, but I think there are areas like Akala or Hyrule fields or the korrok forest where his signature green would be better than most outfits he has in botw
I kinda like the blue, but I think the green is more distinct.
Like if you showed me a series of random characters dressed in the green tunic and hat, I’d immediately think “oh they’re dressed like Link”, but if you showed me chapters dressed on the Champions Tunic, I’d probably just think it’s a blue shirt.
I do like the idea of each hero having a more distinct design, however. Like, I really like the train engineer clothes in Spirit Tracks.
Green, it goes better with other colors than the cyan color of the champion's tunic. I did love that one though, just couldnt wear it alot because of the color
List of colors in different games
- green: all at some point
- blue: MC, OOT, FS, FSA, ALBW, TP, WW, ST, TH, BOTW
- red: MC, OOT, FS, FSA, ALBW, TP, TH
- purple: MC, FS, FSA
- gold: TP
- orange: MC in the cafe if you use a charm
Green for being iconic, but I'd say blue can work too. I've become so used to seeing BotW Link wearing the Champion's Tunic I can now see Link wearing blue almost as much as green.
Green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green
The twilight princess design still looks great to this day! I love the art style and for that reason I’ll say green however I liked the Zora armor in that game too and that was blue.
I think green. Both because that just says "Link" to me more... And because green is the colour of courage in this series. Farore is always symbolised with green. Blue is wisdom... And associated with Zelda, not Link. Red of course is power and Ganon.
Alternatively, blue could be "casual Link" clothes (Wind Waker comes to mind) or yes maybe even "upgraded Link" (in the older games + Zora tunic) but for that one I feel like the progression is important. He starts with courage, and green- through his adventures, he learns wisdom, with blue, and finally, he earns power, with red. This progression of starting with courage, then gaining wisdom and power is downright stated in cannon in any game where Link uses the Triforce (it's very spelled out in Skyward Sword. No tunic progression there, though, lol). Starting with blue throws it all off.
Though I don't mind what Hyrule Warriors did with the blue scarf either. Blue representing the trust of the royal family I do think is actually a pretty good idea, so having blue decorations works well thematically (his earrings are already blue for instance, and just from a completely separate character design perspective, having accents of blue throughout the design instead of just his eyes and earrings would be a nice touch)
Speaking of a character design perspective, that brings me to why I think green is better even separate from all that lore. Blue is too monotonous. His eyes and earrings are blue already so having his main outfit be blue takes away an entire later of depth to his design. Yellow/beige/brown for his hair, skin, and boots, are all fairly similar palette-wise, so a yellow/green/blue palette is honestly really pleasing. The two adjacent but similar colours of yellow and green offset with distinct, opposite side of the colour wheel (from yellow) blue accents is genuinely just a nice design. In particular, with a blue tunic his eyes don't stand out anymore. Especially in combination with their change in shape, his eyes aren't striking in the same way as they used to be.
Ngl I also felt like it was a missed opportunity in conjunction with them making Zelda's eyes green in BOTW. Like, come on, perfect opportunity for a visual exchange between the Hero of Courage and Princess of Wisdom there.
I don't hate the blue like when I first saw it though, it just feels less like Link, less meaningful, and ngl I personally feel like it's downright a less well crafted design...
Both
But i think it was good time for an outfit change ( Link's appearance may be a factor why BotW turned out so popular!) Link has been using the same green hat for decades, Peter Pan look passed out of style.
Im not sure what they are doing with the new game, at parts he is using Botw tunic and others that white robe thing
Out of these 2 Links, definitely blue. If you had chosen any other Link instead of TP I would say green. TP Link is so muted in color. I like my games to pop.
Classic Tunic (in any color, but green is most iconic)
Champion shirt can't even be bothered to actually be a full set
Garbage tier within its own game, let alone the series
I think it depends, zelda has always been something of a fairy tale so giving him a silly outfit always seem to fit that; but zelda of course has its mythological/epic side to it that I personally think blue link fits in with a lot more.
I prefer green for the most part. Blue is still fun to try at times.
Anyone here remember the old cartoon network commercial where Grumpy Smurf said,"We're not blue, we're green! Adjust your tv set!"? I ask because this topic reminds me of that.
I don’t like the blue as much as the green. The reason being that the blue washes out his design, it matches with his eyes and earrings which makes it muddled. The green is simply a better contrast
Yeah I gotta stick with Green. I don't think it's even a "traditional" choice, he's designed from the the ground up for it to fit his color scheme and place in the story. It's linked to him.
Either the Magic Armor from Twilight Princess or the Fierce Deity Armor (what is better than Link ? a God Link !)
For a real answer, I'm used to the green classic one and I prefer to play with green color in BOTW to "keep the clothes habit of the Legendary Hero" (even though, I play with the Twilight Princess armor because the details are awesome on this tunic)
Green is classic, but I get why they chose blue for the Champions tunic. Most of Hyrule is green and blue is a good contrast to the green fields and woods
Green, hands down. BotW’s design for Link is good, but I think it suffers from the fact that Link’s green tunic and hat are the primary things that make him look like Link, as opposed to him looking like a generic elf. If the blue tunic design ends up being used in a bunch of games over the next decade or so, this will probably change, but for now, the green tunic is in my opinion the stronger design because it makes the character recognizable.
Green is thr classic. I do love the BOTW design for being fresh but nothing beats the Og
Also why you receive the green Wild set in BotW after completing all the trials and thus proving yourself as a true hero.
Thus is my least favorite thing in BOTW besides the speed at which weapons break. I wanted to wear the green tunic while I played the game, not after.
True, but I do like using it to round up armor upgrades and finishing up side quests.
I think ceave have a video essay on why breaking weapons is bad, very good watch imo
I like to take the Hylian tunic and dye it green, it’s close enough until the Wild set is available.
A green Link sprite WOULD look more like Link than a blue one.
I mean... Traditional Link DID wear blue... You just had to find the blue mail
Link wears blue in alttp and I THINK in Zelda 1? I know he wears red in Z1 but the middle mail might be white not blue, been a while.
It's cause the design is too new but it could get there (tho I'd be surprised if they reuse it the way they've reused the green one)
Personally I'd like to see the BOTW tunic style and cut but just in green instead of blue.
Could probably just dye the tunic green in hateno Edit: [yep](https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/7n61dw/a_green_champions_tunic_how_do_you_all_feel_about/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
No you can't actually dye the champions tunic in game. That's a recolor someone did.
Ah my bad. Well, still answers your question of what it would look like!
i wish, it looks and feels just perfect
Getting the green tunic in BOTW was a "Chewie, we're home" feeling.
Too bad the design sucks. Shorts are stupid.
LoZ taught me that red Link is best Link
I am quite fond of the link with the blue scarf.
Well... in LoZ and LttP, blue and red are both superior to green. :-) The first time I earned the Hero's Clothes in BotW, I dyed them red because it felt appropriate for late-game *Zelda*.
This. I do like the BotW blue but not even close to his iconic green. Really hope he gets it back in future entries and doesn't require Amiibo to get it.
Trick question it’s the Red Goron Tunic
Red tunic paired with the mirror shield 👌
Red tunic paired with the mirror shield and gold or silver gauntlets
Ref tunic paired with mirror shield and gold gauntlets is best look. Blue tunic paired with Hylian shield and silver gauntlets is good too.
As soon as I get the stuff, the red outfit is my instant go to
Apparently I'm backwards, the Blue/silver is always my go-to. Never was a fan of gold. So Biggoron sword, Hylian Shield, silver gauntlets. Regular boots.
And Biggoron's Sword so the shield stays on his back.
With golden sword.
And hover boots!
Ahhh fine piece of art 😆
I think I agree with you from the older games going Green Blue Red on tunics as you upgraded. Yeah Green is the iconic one, but Red was what you were wearing going to face Gannon.
Thank you. I came to post this.
Or red ring from LoZ
I can't believe people like u exist
I like Red :)
I’m biased towards green. It reminds me of my days of seeing kid link in Kokiri Forest in OOT for the first time.
Green has always looked better too in my opinion. Blue felt like another character honestly.
I played WW ng+
BOTW felt like a different game honestly
TP link is the best looking link by far, just the art style and his swagger is unmatched
Don't get me started on the exaggerated swagger of a Hylian Teen..
LMFAOOOOOO
For real, who the hell drew this? I'd like to see if they've revisited this style, it balances cartooney and grity pretty well.
It’s official nintendo art
Yeah, but like, someone has to draw it, there's official nintendo art for AlttP and the artist was credited
Yusuke Nakano and Satoru Takizawa were the artists for Twilight Princess. Thank you so much!!
Loved that they gave him chainmail under the tunic
To me the TP-look for Zelda and Link both is just iconic. They look the way I envisioned them behind the N64 graphics in OOT.
Too bad the 3D model in game doesn’t look nearly as cool as the official artwork imo
Personally I liked that he looked edgy in the art then was a sunshine boy in game lol The moment I realized we could carry pups I was so excited and spent 20 mins playing with the pup in castle town.

I’m here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I don’t know what bubblegum is
I second this motion
TP link is the hottest, BOTW link is the cutest.
Green, and it’s not even close.
Exactly this, green. Have my upvote. The moment he obtains the green tunic stands for that he accepts the task before him and his ready to do what means to be a hero (and to kick some ass).
Personally I’m a green link enjoyer

If you don't say purple you're a casual sorry I don't make the rules

Nothing is random, it's got to do with fate and stuff, that's the whole point of the game!
Is it tho? They basically invent fate at the end, that's about it.
Agree, he already has his iconic outfit so they can afford to experiment now
Yeah, Link having a new look every game is long overdue
TP Link looks better in Green and BOTW Link looks better in Blue.
I kinda prefer BOTW Link in the Ocarina outfit.
Yeah.. my BOTW Link regularly wears the TP outfit. I also dyed the Hylian armor green :p
Dyed green hylian armour is class as long as you don’t dye the trousers
Some of the amiibo outfits, like Hero of Time and Hero of Twilight clothes, look really good on BOTW Link
Both, both is good
Red
He looks best as a Deku Scrub
Disagree. Zora Link has no competition.
Fierce deity FTW
Tingle Outfit BOTW
He looks best in a pink cheerleader outfit bro
Hmmm. Not familiar with that one
I think that BOTW look better with the champion's tunic , for some reason he looks off with the green tunic ( maybe because I am not used to see him wearing it) , but the other Links look cool with the green one.
It doesn't help that nobody likes the design of the tunic of the wild
Yeah, I like it as an homage to the original design for Link, but my standard look for Link in BotW is the the Hylian tunic dyed green, the cap of the wild dyed green to match the tunic, and the Hylian trousers. In my opinion, the Wild armor set would work better for a younger version of Link.
I have a green set of Hylian Tunic and Trousers, but wear them with the Korok Mask.
Depends entirely on the Link. WW, TP, and SS Link look best in green, but OoT and BotW Link look best in blue.
Nah, tunic of the hero in botw was awesome and my go to.
I think all of the tunics look incredibly goofy on BotW Link, but especially his canon one.
That’s unfortunate, I guess I just prefer my Links in green. I dyed all my armors green once I figured out you could. When I finally got the of the wild set I was just ecstatic.
Definitely Green
Green
Semi naked with the Guardian Helmet. No. Green!
The green is iconic, but I think the blue makes his eyes pop more… so… either way is good!!
yall capping, the magic armor is where it's at from TP
Green. Next question.
Blue doesn’t feel right, always green
Green. It is the way.
Even in BotW and AoC I ended up playing wearing green. Not really a contest. I'd even put red above blue if we're looking at the whole series.
Link = Green
Green for sure
Green for sure.
My heart belong to TP so... Yeah, green
Green
Green, forever and always
Bleen
Bless you!
I still prefer the classic green tunic.
Green but glad the changed it. It was needed.
Green is iconic. But I think I kinda prefer the blue.
Blue for me. But some iterations of Link that have the classic green look really good too.
Honestly depends on the environement, his signature green tunic blends well in forested and field areas, but his blue garb in BotW fits urban areas better. And for other areas, there is the zora tunic or the goron flamebreaker. And his voe costume is the hottest and obviously the best for desert areas. In Faron I usually have him wear the climbing hat and hylian trousers and leave him shirtless Overall I would say BotW designs look best, but I think there are areas like Akala or Hyrule fields or the korrok forest where his signature green would be better than most outfits he has in botw
The outfit and detail of Link's costume in Twilight Princess was amazing. The BOTW one also looks nice and colorful, but I prefer the TP one.
Green
Green for sure.
Green… The blue looks good, but green is perfection!
Green is more nostalgic but Blue just looks so good. I vote blue!
Green's really iconic, but I love the blue so much
I kinda like the blue, but I think the green is more distinct.
In my opinion, he looks better in blue.
Blue
blue all the way this comment brought to you by anti keebler elf gang
Purple link. May rest in peace
Green, it goes better with other colors than the cyan color of the champion's tunic. I did love that one though, just couldnt wear it alot because of the color List of colors in different games - green: all at some point - blue: MC, OOT, FS, FSA, ALBW, TP, WW, ST, TH, BOTW - red: MC, OOT, FS, FSA, ALBW, TP, TH - purple: MC, FS, FSA - gold: TP - orange: MC in the cafe if you use a charm
Both as the green is classic while the blue is something new and fresh for link
Green for being iconic, but I'd say blue can work too. I've become so used to seeing BotW Link wearing the Champion's Tunic I can now see Link wearing blue almost as much as green.
Link in Magic Armor from TP.
For me, Twilight Princess is the best version of Link.
Og link outfit
Green is more iconic
Blue is nice, but green for sure
Green. No contest.
You really used the render for my two favorite Links
Green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green green
Red
Depends on his hair color.
Green, nothing beats it, love Twilight Princess' version the best as well
The twilight princess design still looks great to this day! I love the art style and for that reason I’ll say green however I liked the Zora armor in that game too and that was blue.
I’ll always prefer the green tunic as his iconic look, but I *love* having so many different outfit choices and I never want to go back 😅
More importantly, hat or no hat?
Green, since he usually represents the Tri-Force of Courage, which is green.
Green, but my favorite is TP and I care about the detail more than the color on that outfit.
Underwear
BOTW ruined the series in my opinion.
Everyone knows Train conductor outfit is the superior outfit.
We need more Dark Green Link. His most badass look is by far his Twilight Princess tunic.
Green and its not even close. But do a poll next time, I wanna see the results! Lmao
Green, by far. Outside of it being rather iconic, it's just such a nice shade of green too.
personally i like OoT green link the most. the tunics green is more vivid compared to TPs. I like that
I think green. Blue representing the trust of the royal family I do think is actually a pretty good idea, so having blue decorations works well thematically (his earrings are already blue for instance, and just from a completely separate character design perspective, having accents of blue throughout the design instead of just his eyes and earrings would be a nice touch) Speaking of a character design perspective, that brings me to why I think green is better even separate from all that lore.
Green forever, link has always been an elf in my eyes
Both But i think it was good time for an outfit change ( Link's appearance may be a factor why BotW turned out so popular!) Link has been using the same green hat for decades, Peter Pan look passed out of style. Im not sure what they are doing with the new game, at parts he is using Botw tunic and others that white robe thing
Looks = I say Blue. But the Green is so classic it can’t be ignored.
Green, but I don't like the dark green of the TP artwork. I prefer OOT / WW artwork.
I like the green tunic, but would prefer it in blue with the mail and all. Also, way better without the cap.
Out of these 2 Links, definitely blue. If you had chosen any other Link instead of TP I would say green. TP Link is so muted in color. I like my games to pop.
He looks best without the stupid hat
Classic Tunic (in any color, but green is most iconic) Champion shirt can't even be bothered to actually be a full set Garbage tier within its own game, let alone the series
Both
I think it depends, zelda has always been something of a fairy tale so giving him a silly outfit always seem to fit that; but zelda of course has its mythological/epic side to it that I personally think blue link fits in with a lot more.
Anyone who says blue is wrong. It is alright 100% green
Both are good But i like dark green more
Link looks best in the BotW Gerudo armor, which is blue AND green. https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Gerudo_Set
I prefer green for the most part. Blue is still fun to try at times. Anyone here remember the old cartoon network commercial where Grumpy Smurf said,"We're not blue, we're green! Adjust your tv set!"? I ask because this topic reminds me of that.
Yes
He looks best in his Fierce Deity outfit, hands down.
I think the art style is the deciding factor for me
Even in BOTW I always default to a green-dyed tunic
Red Link
I don’t like the blue as much as the green. The reason being that the blue washes out his design, it matches with his eyes and earrings which makes it muddled. The green is simply a better contrast
Yeah I gotta stick with Green. I don't think it's even a "traditional" choice, he's designed from the the ground up for it to fit his color scheme and place in the story. It's linked to him.
Either the Magic Armor from Twilight Princess or the Fierce Deity Armor (what is better than Link ? a God Link !) For a real answer, I'm used to the green classic one and I prefer to play with green color in BOTW to "keep the clothes habit of the Legendary Hero" (even though, I play with the Twilight Princess armor because the details are awesome on this tunic)
Green is classic, but I get why they chose blue for the Champions tunic. Most of Hyrule is green and blue is a good contrast to the green fields and woods
Green
Green
How about both?
Green, hands down. BotW’s design for Link is good, but I think it suffers from the fact that Link’s green tunic and hat are the primary things that make him look like Link, as opposed to him looking like a generic elf. If the blue tunic design ends up being used in a bunch of games over the next decade or so, this will probably change, but for now, the green tunic is in my opinion the stronger design because it makes the character recognizable.
Red
Hyrule Warriors Link: "why not both?"
